The shot where we see his reflection as Rhys is such a genius idea. This means that the one who truly drowned in that bridge is the 'kind' Joe and the one that got save was Rhys.

Really like this ending. The first season was about Joe's first steps towards madness and obsession. In the second we see a Joe wanting to change, but in his obsession he ended up entangled with someone just like him, which made him despise his darkest side. In the third we see a Joe who, having no one to be obsessed with, ends up falling in love with his co-worker, which led him to the other side of the world and to this fourth season, where Joe finally accepts who he is and fully embraces his other self.

Joe no longer feels the need to justify his actions or frame them through the lense of a Good Man in a Cruel World Simply Doing What it Takes to Stop the Bad People. What's worse is that this shift coincides right with a complete PR clean up of his past and becoming one of the most powerful and wealthy people on the planet. He accepted he's a monster and won't let it bother him anymore. He's more then willing to destroy the life of his Kid Morality Pet, when in past seasons they were the thing that symbolized his humanity and desire to do right (Paco, Ellie, Henry). I think I always knew deep down, despite wanting him to be better and change, that he was beyond redemption, but seeing it actually cemented gave me chills.
He was beyond help when he first attacked Candace. Him killing the mom ex is fine you can work through it. But the others are not justifiable at all if u rewatch season 1 he was a problem from the beginning.

So sad for Nadia, curios cat got the shit end of the stick for this season. She did NOT deserve any of this. Now that Joe has gone full circle, the final season should be Nadia, Ellie and Marianne taking Joe down.
Marienne isn't stupid to go after Joe especially given that she has a daughter to take care of while making sure she's dead according to Joe. She wouldn't risk that. Ellie has more of a reason to go after Joe
Nadia is in prison, just like that therapist played by stamos, Paco likes Joe and is also kinda like him when he was a child, Marianne would never risk losing her child and Ellie is on her own and doesn’t know anything about a connection with Joe and her. So Ellie wouldn’t succeed against him in any way. Joe is always 10 steps ahead
Throughout the series you know he’s done bad and they show tries to convince you he does have feelings and empathy, but this ending goes to show he really is a monster and he will do anything to protect himself
no, she was able to save Marienne without getting caught by Joe. Nadia did more digging than she needed to. If she just saved Marienne and called it quits after that, Nadia wouldn’t have gotten what she got.

In a way, Joe pretty much found his “you” in Kate through his pattern. He killed her toxic friends (her boyfriend Malcolm, Simon and the one mistreating the servants) and in the end that pretty much led to her being involved with him. She’s accepting of his dark side (albeit, not completely knowing what his actions were) while being a relatively well meaning person compared to someone like Love. It’s pretty much Joe’s dream situation. The only thing he hasn’t done yet is lock her in a cage, and to top it all off, Kate’s family name pretty much allows him to do whatever he wants. In this situation, I wonder what’ll happen if he tries to find another “you”, because he pretty much has to be with Kate officially to have his immunity.
I think either kate will find out everything and be the one to stop him, or Joe will continue his ways and get another "you" which Kate will have to clean up like Love did, except instead of freaking out she accepts it?? Honestly though I can't see it going for much more. Joe is at the top, he can't go any higher or lower and he is past the point of change/redemption arc. I think either Kate joins him in the crazy or Joe gets caught by Kate in the final season and he turns himself in because of "love". Then he will have his 30 year sentence or whatever and the story will end with Joe getting out years later and finding another "you". (Starting the cycle again) Not the most satisfying ending, but it is a realistic one. (We all know joe didn't tell Kate everything, just the story closest to the truth. She probably doesn't know about benji or that random angry guy from season 2. And he probably made beck and Candace one person/one crazy ex. He still twisted the story most likely. I'm certain he didn't tell her about the librarian affair or her crazy ex, or her bf when he was drunk because that would end her love for him. Of course he could always tell her, her bf cheated...) Idk, I can't see the show going much further.
Joe is a typical case of "I like the thrill of the hunt" he's not truly interested in being in a loving relationship with someone, even if he's diluted himself into thinking that way. He loves the game of it all. The systematic infiltration of a womans life, slowly but surely taking control of it and manipulating everything around him to his benefit. Once that parts over and he's won the heart of his target he gets bored. Like how a wild animal would feel after being domesticated. He's doomed to repeat the cycle until he ends up dead or in jail. And honestly considering that some prison guards are females he probably wouldn't even stop after going to prison
Tbh I kinda blame Nadia for getting involved and not doing the right thing from the start. First of all, her hunch literally comes out of nowhere. Second, she doesn't do anything that could actually help because she thinks she is some ultimate detective and listened to a lady who was constantly hallucinating. Third, she got an innocent man killed by involving him in this shit that she clearly knew was dangerous. Finally, she thought she was smarter than Joe, which essentially led to her getting more comfortable. Like, I mean, she was literally joking about books while searching for evidence in Joe's home on a time crunch like come on.🤦♂️ I still feel bad for her, but damn if she just called the police in the beginning.

I never care about any of the side characters. I only care about Joe's journey. That's how entertaining he is as a protagonist. This is not reality. This is entertainment.

She had it coming. She was trying to be oversmart. It was funny when you could see fear in her eyes when Joe started walking towards her. She realized what Marienne told her about Joe - He is dangerous. You simply don't mess with him.
She could be smart in handling it instead of being overconfident but by no means she was dumb in wanting to punish him seriously. Also I liked the ending as well , from joe believing himself innocent while committing crimes to finally embracing his true self without excuses , it was surprising. I don't know what makers would do in next last season but it would be ruined by supposed "happy ending" "justice served " as this ending is much more realistic. Bad people don't always infact mostly not get punished because of being smart and if they have all resource and they are powerful it is near impossible to do them any harm .

He’s been a villain from the start only naive people were fooled by the delusion hypocritical monologues and the looks ( because let’s be honest a lot of people empathize with him because he’s good looking. If it was an unattractive guy in the show then the audience would’ve despised him from the first season )

You can shit on the season as much as you want but we can't argue with the fact that the amount of chracter development they managed to give Joe in Part 2 is amazing that ending is absolutely horrifying [definitely the worst thing he's ever done] In S3,at his lowest he'd ever been he did kind of save Theo when he delivered him to the hospital even though he knew it was possible that the kid would rat him out In the ending of S4,when he is the strongest he's ever been he still frames Nadia (someone he does care about in his twisted) & murders an innocent guy and doesn't seem to mind it all Comparing his relationship with all four of the kids throughout the seasons really proves how much his chracter has really changed) WE CAN ALL AGREE THAT NADIA DESERVED MUCH BETTER

After this watching this scene, Joe Goldberg is no longer one of the “redeemable” villain protagonists like Walter White. Joe Goldberg has now reached full on evil protagonist, basically another Patrick Bateman. The little “good” left of Joe died in the water and his double evil Rhys personality survived, making two halves in one. As much as Joe did his hardest to become a better person he finally accepted that he’s destined to be an evil serial killer. I hope the characters from the previous seasons such as Ellie, Paco, Karen, Peach’s detective, Kerry and Sherri, and theo team up with Marianne and Nadia to take down Joe Goldberg.

Joe is a typical case of "I like the thrill of the hunt" he's not truly interested in being in a loving relationship with someone, even if he's diluted himself into thinking that way. He loves the game of it all. The systematic infiltration of a womans life, slowly but surely taking control of it and manipulating everything around him to his benefit. Once that parts over and he's won the heart of his target he gets bored. Like how a wild animal would feel after being domesticated. He's doomed to repeat the cycle until he ends up dead or in jail. And honestly considering that some prison guards are females he probably wouldn't even stop after going to prison

Tbh I kinda blame Nadia for getting involved and not doing the right thing from the start. First of all, her hunch literally comes out of nowhere. Second, she doesn't do anything that could actually help because she thinks she is some ultimate detective and listened to a lady who was constantly hallucinating. Third, she got an innocent man killed by involving him in this shit that she clearly knew was dangerous. Finally, she thought she was smarter than Joe, which essentially led to her getting more comfortable. Like, I mean, she was literally joking about books while searching for evidence in Joe's home on a time crunch like come on.🤦♂️

Also I liked the ending as well , from joe believing himself innocent while committing crimes to finally embracing his true self without excuses , it was surprising. I don't know what makers would do in next last season but it would be ruined by supposed "happy ending" "justice served " as this ending is much more realistic. Bad people don't always infact mostly not get punished because of being smart and if they have all resource and they are powerful it is near impossible to do them any harm .

After this watching this scene, Joe Goldberg is no longer one of the “redeemable” villain protagonists like Walter White. Joe Goldberg has now reached full on evil protagonist, basically another Patrick Bateman. The little “good” left of Joe died in the water and his double evil Rhys personality survived, making two halves in one. As much as Joe did his hardest to become a better person he finally accepted that he’s destined to be an evil serial killer. I hope the characters from the previous seasons such as Ellie, Paco, Karen, Peach’s detective, Kerry and Sherri, and theo team up with Marianne and Nadia to take down Joe Goldberg.
