i really like the way he describes Joe, totally different from anyone else in the show. The way he truly portrays him as a monster that the writers & flow of the show/characters try to mask. Joe has been tricking us & manipulating us these two seasons into thinking he’s doing good with his narration & his mislead desire to go to extreme lengths to pull the woman he wants. But Dr. Nicky brings us back to reality, he knows Joe is batshit crazy and capable of anything; something the rest of the characters figured out too late or haven’t figured out yet. When Nicky says “stay away from that man” & “god bless you and your sister” it’s chilling cuz he witnessed joe’s insanity first hand. it’s a warning, a signal for good luck cuz he knows once Joe sinks his claws into you there’s no getting rid of him.
Dr. Nicky just knows that nothing good comes from going after Joe, just keep as far away as possible. Obsessively going after someone on your own terms is very dangerous, or just taking the law into your own hands in general.
Usul573 well said..... both Candace and Forty lost their lives trying to deal justice/ vengeance on Joe..... All caught up, waiting for part 2 of season 4. I believe this convo is Joe's fate. Plain and simple. Can't wait to see how long he goes and how he is eventually taken out!
At the beginning of the scene, Forty is rambling about narcissistic unimportant jargon, but then Nicky does the same with his Jesus bullshit. He claims to be dealing with the evil in the mirror, while committing a lethal act of negligence, apathy and fear. This is a major turning point in Forty's character when he realizes what's important. Too bad it doesn't last long. It's really messed up that in Season 3, his ghost is basically just telling Love what she wants to hear, instead of what he would really say if he was alive: "Take Henry and leave! NOW!"
Usul573 It’s illogical that Dr. Nicky wouldn’t even try to tell the truth and accept being wrongly convicted. He had children, and a wife. It also makes no sense that he wasn’t concerned with getting justice for Beck’s real murderer and somehow thought staying out of it was an honorable thing to do.

I mean there are no hints to his return, as season 4 is taking place in Paris and London, so it’s hard to tell if he would return. His just simply a recurring character.
