I actually hurt inside when Love met her fate in YOU. Victoria acted so well, sold me on the character and had me invested. Penn is amazing as well from the beginning until now. These two have big things in front of them.
victoria was such an amazing actress in the role of Love Quinn and all of the other roles she plays and Penn is just an amazing actor and i was glad to see that the start of season 5 is starting filming.
I have loved Victoria in everything I’ve seen her in and related to her. I was also diagnosed ADHD around 6 or 7 and medicated until I was in my early teens. The way she talks about being both special Ed and the gifted kids programs really touched my heart. I’ve never heard someone with a big influence actually talk about anything like that, and it feels so nice to see myself in someone I already admired. Thank you guys so much for this episode. What you all had to say was so beautiful and heartwarming and the way you’re all so compassionate with Victoria and her life experience was comforting.
Was never diagnosed till I was an adult, got held back once, kept getting placed in advanced classes when i switched schools (5 schools, 3 districs over 6 years) but graduated with a 2.6 GPA and a 31 on the only time i took the ACT. I'm doing well now, though, and it turns out an online undergrad was perfect for someone like me who can't be in a classroom without totally zoning out.
Victoria and Penn are truly the perfect casting for Love and Joe. They’re both so good at portraying deep and concerning emotions on screen and as an aspiring actor myself it gives me so much to inspire to.
I love this podcast so much, thank you guys for making it! It’s hard to find celebrity “interviews” nowadays that are so down to earth and speaking about such thoughtful/often “taboo” topics. And so much love to Penn & Victoria 🫶 They’re so amazing & well spoken
this was amazing. it’s really refreshing to see a person like victoria who’s so open, honest, raw. i know that she expressed that fame can be almost like a double edged sword but i’m really grateful that the Universe brought her to this point, on my homepage of my youtube. she is first of all, incredibly talented but not only that, we need more people like her. people that aren’t afraid to feel and dive into the uncomfortable and just allow themselves to be human. i really appreciated hearing a bit of her story bc no child should EVER feel that way! i think it’s a blessing to have a public figure be an advocate for being more humane bc there’s definitely not enough of that. shes so well-spoken and intelligent, it’s amazing. thank you penn, podcrushed podcast, and my youtube home page for this. great episode!!!
I was diagnosed with ADHD at the ripe age of 22. I loved Love at the season 2 and 3 and seeing that Victoria has been dealing with the same thing is making me feel seen. I love her and I love the crew
This interview was really well done, I don’t know who the main host is but the women in it are well spoken and I really enjoyed the vibe. Love Victoria too, and Penn. You guys earned my subscription
Y'all, CHILLS! You were all absolutely speaking to my soul in this conversation. I was diagnosed with ADHD at 31 years old. I'm partially grateful that it was later in life because I definitely would have been labeled as one of those "disruptive" kiddos, but I also had a TON of unlearning and de-acculturating to do throughout my twenties and thirties. I so appreciate you bringing awareness to this topic of individualism vs. independence vs. interdependence. Now I'm working as a marriage and family therapist and working so hard to help others build awareness in this space as well. Thank you.
as a teenager who has been diagnosed with adhd and add from a very young age i truly understand everything that victoria is saying. in school (still am in highschool) ive always felt like an issue and the way school goes about people like me is rlly dehuminizing and stressful. ive always been called disruptive, loud, too distracted, cant do well in tests, ect. at one point in my childhood i felt really stressed about needing to drink pills to be like the rest of the kids. and i constantly feel dependent on special treatment and on tutors to simply get through the year. and i know its not because i cant do it, its simply because my brain takes more time to process and understand things and even need them to repeat themselves to get it. and school systems simply cant wrap their heads around a child who struggles to follow these expectations. so i really thank you victoria because i had never seen anyone understand what im going through and let alone talk about it.
I actually think badgleys dislike for Joe transpires PERFECTLY into joe's guilt and shame about being who he is and his constant strive to be a "good man" tbh (rather than how Penn just described how it sort of blocks him from fully embracing the character) !
I love this take I feel it can be very debatable. It feels right to believe the murderer could never be any different but like Victoria described she was really caught up with her character and why she is how she is. Penn is an amazing actor I don't see it holding him back so far other than the possibility that Joe Goldberg is no longer fighting for that "goodness" it seems
That’s why having arts programs in the schools are critical and when there are budget cuts the first thing they cut are those programs. Art encourages children to express their individuality. It’s also why people that suffer from conditions that may put them out of the “norm” are drawn and flourish in the arts. The arts provide an infinite landscape for all. There should definitely be more outreach and donations for art programs in all public schools.
I listened to this the other day and it was just really nice to hear about her backstory. I don’t have ADHD but autism and I had the kind of shared experiences with friendships and even schooling. And even as an almost mid 20s person I still find things hard like the friendships and etc. But I really appreciated the episode, I really love this whole podcast and have been listening to each episode when I can non stop.
This is incredible!!! I love Penn but I so love Victoria, I could listen to her speak for days on end. She is just so incredible and raw. I'm so glad you talked about the ADD/ADHD stuff 💖
I will be reading these books. My daughter is very add but hers stem from anxiety. The school wanted her tested because she didn’t fit in a state box. I pulled her out last year and she is flourishing. I am blown away by this part of the interview. Interdependence…..most schools want to squash creativity and have all kids do the same things and learn the same things and if you don’t you are bad. You have “something” wrong with you. They wanted my daughter on medication as well! Thank you for talking about this.
I first watched Victoria in The Haunting of Hill House and she blew me away... as did the series, it really stayed with me for a long time, her scenes literally haunted me and scared the crap out of me... Victoria is an incredible actress. "You" was the cherry on top of the cake.
The talk about ADD/ADHD is so real! It's so hard to just describe yourself and say the words without making them think of you any less just because you have it. It truly feels dehumanizing but it feels hard to be mad cause most of the time, their treatment is out of good intention. It's so conflicting but it should really be simple.
I'm very happy to listen to this podcast because I'm from Brazil and you really make me happy, so thank you and I have to say that I love each and every one of you, thanks :)
I know I wasn't the only one sad to see Love go and Joe go on. Not that Joe's character isn't well done or isn't interesting, but I just loved Loves whole backstory and character so much lol
I love Victoria’s insight on her religion and that sense of duty in community and kindness in treating one another and how “we were once strangers in Egypt.” Mad profound Also, the way the educational system treats children with ADHD is soo🤔-It’s just the wrong way. One of my favorite YT gamers (also was diagnosed young with ADHD) said that it was impossible for him to succeed, and now hearing Victoria’s experience -it sucks.
The thing is: what can the education system do ? Since every child with ADHD is different you cant have a program that will work with every kid with ADHD. If you implement a very deconstructed way of teaching, it can have good repercussions but can also lead to a lowering of the quality of instruction and make it even more teacher dependant than it already is (the quality of education i mean).
Love this podcast, and hope Penn, Sophie, and Nava keep posting full feature episodes recorded through video on RUclips more often from Season 1 of Podcrushed, maybe I can request you posting the Sebastian Stan episode next!
Amazing, this video did two great things: 1. helped me feel less uncomfortably obsessed with Penn. So good to see him just being a person sometimes struggling to finish asking a question. lol. 2. Gabor Mate's book "Scattered" is extremely good. According to him, having had this unhealthy fixation in the first place = not my fault :D
The speed at which I googled the movie Ponyboi when they mentioned she was filming, watched the short film, dug into River Gallo, and wow, I'm so excited to see her (and them!) in this film.
I feel she was nervous, she seemingly looks anxious and nervous. Victoria's been incredibly open about her mental health issues and struggling with insecurities. I think the interviewers did a great job making her feel safe. Penn did and incredible support- job by leading the interview all along and paying attention to victoria's reaction to the questions being made to make sure he could give her a suitable topic for her to feel comfortable talking about if needed. Love these two so much😭💖 she did great!
Great Episode with Victoria ❤. I would really love if ever possible getting Donna Tartt on the podcast, she did write one of the most popular books about a chracter trying to fit in with a bunch of rich snots and Penn has played a character like that for six seasons.
if you have the time/money perhaps try and get your symptoms checked out!! if it’s not adhd or add that’s ok theyll figure it out and find the best way to support you. medication and therapy can ease your struggles but it may not be for everyone. researching and reaching out to a doctor is a start :)
One of the best learning experiences I had was the implementation of learning that targeted 3 angles, visual learning, auditory learning and kinesthetic learning. Honestly I hardly had to try to digest. Fantastic program that was. I’m mostly Kinesthetic. It was a great experience for me. There was no person left behind.
I loved Victoria Pedretti performance as Love Quinn. My favorite scene is when she revealed herself on the last episode of season 2. I loved how she became unhinge in season 3. I love her big smile. I started watching Haunting of Hill House because of her! I have Haunting of Bly Manor on my watch list. Why would you choose to have a shot of Victoria's face is hidden? I can't see her big smile.
Wow. I didn't know you guys were doing Video Podcasts. Cool. One criticism though. Would it be possible to re-upload this podcast with all four video feeds divided onto the screen at once. Because the feed in this video kept switching to the point that it was giving me a headache after a while.

Penn's voice is like butter...I'm sure it's one of the reasons why people got hooked with YOU because of the narration incorporated in the series.

Hiding Victoria's face is criminal.

@@Ghost-sz7uo Penn killed Victoria? OMG 😱
How is he not arrested?

everyone else has a clear shot of their face for the most part, and victoria is just straight blocked by the mic most of the time 🥲
i was thinking the same the whole time ☹️
LITERALLY OMG WHY WOULD YOU COVER THE MOST BEAUTIFUL FACE EVER
Exactly!!!
For real😢
I'm in love with Victoria and Penn
They are cuttest 💥💥❤️😄

Definitely! If I could be in a throuple with anyone, I’d marry these two. They’re beautiful human beings.
I actually hurt inside when Love met her fate in YOU. Victoria acted so well, sold me on the character and had me invested. Penn is amazing as well from the beginning until now. These two have big things in front of them.
Victoria is highly intelligent and deeply in touch with what’s important and real. Love it. Those obstacles really shaped her into a wise woman. ❤

Victoria just want to thank for her honesty everything that she does helps. I'm so proud of her.
