This man is one of the comic geniuses of all time. Real talent and wit. two hours plus of side aching hilarity. He should never be forgotten.

Very alive and looking very well earlier today. I would have loved to ask him for a quick photo but he was having lunch with friends and it wouldn’t have been right to disturb him. His records and a certain young lady got me through my early teenage years!

      Likewise brother.
My dad had an old casette tape (in 39!) of Mike live, and the sound quality, as I remember it, was flawless for the old caette tapes, and it had on some mike Harding songs which i havent heard before or since. Some sad ballads about northern milltowns, one of which I come from in Bradford, West Yorkshire, and some about, another song with lyrics "my mam told me when I played on the grids with the other kids, like we always did, I'd catch scarlet fever and I'd drop down dead, I'd be brown bread, that's what she said.
And then one night she chased me, when I wa' coming home from't Cubs,
Wearing nothing but a flap cap and a rain coat and a tube o' smarties."
It was an incredible record of brilliant mike Harding songs and stories, and to my shame I lost it when I left it at a friends who didn't have the same appreciation of his comedy as I did and my dad, and the tape was lost to time.
      Gutted.
It broke my dads heart to lose that tape.

Great stuff from a guy who loves life and tells it like it is. Maybe that's why he got shafted by his 'mates' at the BBC.

Whatever happened to Mike Harding, is he still alive, because he was one of my favourite comedians along with Russ Abbott.

What type of guitar is he playing at around 43.00 Minutes, as he seems to playing it with a plectrum and not normally like you would a normal guitar.

@@TheBarStewardSonsofValDoonican Also known as a resonator guitar. The circular grill beneath the strings is a metal "tin" which resonates at certain frequencies, giving it its unique sound.
