To be honest: I'm fighting for words to explain, what I feel, when I watch this episode. And I lost the fight.
Even in German Language I'm not able to find a Superlative witch came close enough. So I have to apologize, when I say, I had watched a cinematographic masterpiece for the last 25 Minutes.
It's emotional to me. All the brilliant footages, the Landscape, your Joy in the Rain and so much more.
    Thank You!

Good on Dan, for acknowledging the stress of trying to get the right shot and just taking a moment to decompress. Mental health is important no matter to what far flung places you end up traveling to.

I had the same thought. Kika was caught in the moment of getting the great shots. Dan recognized she was focusing on the task at hand instead of enjoying the journey and had her chill for a few seconds. It's great to have a mate that can recognize when you're focusing on something other than enjoying such a serene trip and help bring you back. I'm sure she does the same for him at times.

    Lovely experience!
Friendly tip, if you need to throw a lot of line as long as you can, try splitting it in two coil bundles, one in each hand, and throw them at almost the same time. Rotate your torso and let go of the "far end" bundle a split second before the near end part. :)

I like to watch people traveling. In trailers, motorhomes, boats, etc. After a time they move on to something different and they get emotional thinking of all their experiences when they leave their traveling home. Watching you two is so unique, unusual places, doing so much with your boat, keeping it all this time, you two are on a whole different higher level.

One of your best films yet. Crinan Canal is important to me, I fly my light aircraft from Enland to the Highlands often and when the weather is bad I follow the canal that way you wont hit any thing. Really like what you have done to your boat, there is another chanel called Gone with the Wynns and they in essence want an electric boat like yours except with two hulls. Love the way you sail in the northern latitudes, not just in the tropics.

You are making me homesick. I grew up in Crinan and Dunardry. I remember the weather well. Temporate rainforest. The canal also had a lot more life back then, late 70's 80's. There was a good few yachts in Crinan basin and there was still a decent sized fishing fleet using the basin. The fleet had lots of "charcters" that went with it. Best of luck and safe journey.

Soooo beautiful. That peaceful little canal. I don't know why, but it's bringing tears to my eyes. You're hitting all the places I need to go: Norway, Scotland, Svalbard. Thanks for the cinematography reality check, even though I really like the illusion that your final product conveys: that you guys are just kickin' back, chillin' as you lazily drift down the canal.
Wow! I can't believe the sailors have to operate the locks themselves! I only sailed as a child and young adult and only as a passenger. My entire family sailed and I never learned. I liked to paddle around in my glass bottomed boat though. We went through locks in sailboats, but never had to get out.

what a beautiful video! I had hardcore flashbacks to when I visited my parents on their boat (they are sailing a Sirius 40DS. - they have a blog - sailing amazing grace! mostly German, but parts of the blog is translated into English). They did the 'big' Caledonian Canal, starting in Inverness a couple of years ago.
My husband and I stayed with them for 2 weeks and it is to this day one of my favorite sailing trips. Scotland is such a beautiful country to sail. Sailing through the Highlands, all the Lochs and locks was truly special!
Also, it is rare to meet such nice people like the Scots.

I am always blown away by your videos. I know it must take a lot of additional effort behind the scenes (literally) but the results are worth it every time. The bonus is that you take us to places most travelers will never experience. Be well guys.

Fantastic fottage of the Crinnan & a first for me seeing it from a birds eye view. You stepped up and down the👍 aperture in your stills as good as Uma did in the locks.

I don't know why but for me this video is the best one in ages! Perhaps rain is a relief after all the cold. but I am biased, I love the rain. 💙💙

Love it. Been following you round the world, and its great seeing you in our back yard as it were. First took a sail boat through the Crinan Canal 35 years ago, and your trip took me back through time. Fair winds and following seas. Haste ye back, as we say. All the best.

Photogenic video showing Scotlands weather at it's best. Sailing through a 200yrs old canal set in a 5,000 yrs old human landscape, of Kilmartin Glen and Dunadd Hill fort, capital of Dal Riata. Happy sailing!
