Great video, ya'll!! Love Languages are so important! I'll say this: showing your partner love in their love language can still be authentic, if you approach it from your heart. I'm majorly acts of service, but my partner is words of affirmation (at the bottom of my list). So even though it's not "natural" or easy for me, because I want to show love the way I like to receive it, it is still authentic of me to consciously make sure I verbally pour into him (only saying what I mean though, cause then it's inauthentic). Choosing to show your partner love in their love language, making that effort, is major key! ☺

Right Leslie. Love languages are a personal hierarchy, but all are necessary. If physical touch is your last love language, that’s just what it is - last in order of importance. However, if your parter NEVER touches you, that’s probably going to be a problem. So all love languages have to be incorporated. Being your “authentic self” really doesn’t have anything to do with you selflessly expressing love for someone else. Sometimes it ain’t about you. You effectively expressing love to your partner is your willingness to deliver your love to them in a manner they can receive it. Your “authentic self” loves them - it’s not about the delivery. Basically it's all about communication, which is the epitome of any relationship. Anything you anticipate in marriage or any relationship should be discussed from the break. Put it on the table. Most relationship fail because the communication was not there. Period.
Also, I think when we tried to simplify the amorphous dynamics of relationships and put it in the box of 5 "languages", we complicated it. The greatest "love language" should be "appreciation for consideration." If your other buys flowers and you tell them that gifts aren't your language. You depleted both "love tanks". If your other rubs your back or holds your hand, does saying "physical touch is not my language" sound constructive? Are we building at this point? How about we appreciate the thought? How about we appreciate the consideration...the regard? Our other thinks enough of us to show us love in whatever language. A wise person told me that in this life, "you either build or destroy." How about we build instead of dissect and disassemble? We tend to over-complicate what should not be calculus in the first place. It should be me plus you equals forever in love.

Great vid! I think one key to have any successful relationship, and life in general, is managing expectations. You shouldn't expect someone to make you happy. You should bring your own happiness into the relationship. It's pretty unfair to the other person to have them shoulder the responsibility of YOUR happiness. Your happiness or attitude in general should not be dependent on another person. It should be based on how you feel about yourself. I find that life is better when you have your own sense of self-satisfaction and not always looking for validation.

Listen people, if you cannot have a vulnerable conversation with your bf/gf then do not get married. Marriage is all about being vulnerable. Living with someone requires more than just talking about the day to day, it also includes talking about pain, hurt, mistakes, loss, forgiveness, disappointments, health (and all the things that comes with that) wealth (and all the things that comes with that) being broke, budgeting (and all the things that comes with that).
