Delta,British Airways,AirFrance,KLM, and Korean air are part of the Sky Team. When I booked a flight to London from Atlanta on Delta I was placed on a British Airways 777 and I booked it on the Delta website. So they all partner up to make money together
Is it my imagination, or do those rear-engined aircraft climb much more steeply and quickly/ They look more like winged rockets than conventional aircraft. Acknowledging the Delta hub factor, would love to see more variety of aircraft livery.
What's cool to watch is open another youtube window and type in atlanta airport 1980 and watch the two different airports 30 years apart side by side. Just a little something I did to see 30 years difference.
@Starboard76 Thanks man! The Air France 744 departed runway 27R which is on the south complex. The Renaissance hotel (where most of the footage came from) is on the far north end of the airport so getting a good quality shot of it was impossible, bummer!
@Starboard76 Thanks again! Yea for some reason AF has been running the 744 to ATL all summer, seems like they change equipment to ATL frequently (ive seen A330, A340, 777 and 744 all within the last year or so)
The Omni Air is a real DC-10, no nancy boy derivative :) Check out the size of its not-so-horizontal stabilizer - that's how you tell a DC-10 from his better brothers! The DC-10 relied on brute force from the stabilizer to maintain pitch balance, while the MD-11 uses a trim tank in the stabilizer to maintain center-of-gravity with fuel shifting.
May I kindly ask what the room rate is for one of these higher floor rooms facing the airport? And what's the view like at nighttime? I'll bet it has to be awesome with all of the runway lights and the takeoff and landing lights from the airplanes!
@canmanvegas Its Delta Air Lines hub/HQ (currently the worlds largest airline), so the amount of passengers that connect through ATL make it the worlds busiest airport.
Know any other places to spot around there? I know the parking garages are great but I'd prefer a place that's...well free :P haha. Great vid by the way!
I didnt realise BA flew to Atlanta, whats the market for them??? As most travel between UK and Atlanta will be on Delta connecting onwards to other destinations So are BA carrying O&D on this route???
This will always be my one of my most favorite plane spotting videos.

beautiful video! Shows some great action of ATL
Nice video.
That airport is huge.
GREAT video! Never been to ATL but I would love to check it out sometime. This is some cool music to go with it.
Very nicely done..........aside the great footage, the editing/composition is superb.
Cool video. I would have enjoyed hearing the engine sounds over the music, but I enjoyed it anyway. Nice job!

@fawii Many - most international flights from KATL are 767s.
@gizwoz14 The best place in the summer is the Renaissance Concourse Hotel, get a room on one of the higher floors and you wont be disappointed.
