Great video! It’s making me feel old, and I’m only in my 20s. No more AirTran, US Airways or Virgin America. Allegiant’s MD-80s and 757s are gone. American’s shiny silver and MD-80s have vanished too. The one staple that lives on are those FedEx MD-10s. Whether 1995, 2013 or 2019, they’re always there haha!
M Groh Yeah the MD-10s are always a treat to see. It definitely seems like yesterday that AA and Allegiant had their MD-80s still flying there. I filmed this in 2012 and that alone makes me feel old haha.
It's really cool to see so many airlines / colors fly into one airport. LAS airport is a competitive market and they all fight neck and neck for the best fares to get your business.
Thanks for the compliments! I am currently sitting in the Las Vegas airport right now after experiencing the strip for my first time this past weekend. It was nice to see all of the casino buildings up close and I am quite impressed with the city compared to Hollywood which is in my back yard. As a plane spotter, we like to stay quiet to capture the entire sound of the aircraft taking off and landing. But we do chat while the camera isn't rolling. Thank you for subscribing.
I been with my husband since high school and we are from los angeles. He use to always take me to sections near the runway(before 9/11) to watch planes take off and land. At first I thought it was the most boring thing, but now I kind of like it. He is a airplane junkie lol. Can hear a plane and know what it is.
Great video! And, I thought that I was the only one that enjoyed going to the airport (especially Vegas) and watching/taking pictures of these fantastic jets!
Thanks for watching. I used a Sony DSC-HX100V. It is a wonderful cross between a quality still photo camera and video camera. It has since been updated to the DSC-HX200V.
It's a great looking plane :) In a world where a majority of twin jets look the same, I'm learning more to appreciate all of different liveries / special liveries.
There's a shopping center just south of there called Town Square. Sit in the middle. And film planes all day. I filmed a few. Had a blast doing it! Nice video btw. My happiest moment is landing in Vegas. Saddest is leaving!!
There was some out door tables to sit at in front of a coffee shop I believe. It's across the street from what I call the park. The planes fly very low right over that spot. Planes from all over the world. I should see if I can find my video and post it. But check it out if you are ever that way again. I really enjoyed yours, take care.
Me again. OK I just finished watching and I gotta tell you you did an excellent job here from the views you took to the editing, and the quality is very clear. I thoroughly enjoyed watching this. I wanna know, tho, is HOW do you stay so quiet??? lol I'd be chatting up a storm. I guess you do this plane spotting quite often and that reminds me, you have a new subscriber. I will look forward to watching more of your videos. Incoming flights are awesome to see cuz of the wind. Ok Hope you had fun!
Jay's O'HareAviation Plane Spotting HD Thanks! Funny how a video that I never considered my highest quality work actually becomes the most viewed. I will have to make a sequel someday.
I hear you. Driving to Las Vegas can be just as easy. As far as the flag not being on Allegiant's livery from what I understand, the government issues that flag to signify the airline as a "flag carrier" however not every US based airline is represented as such.
I think because there were so many Southwest planes flying that day, I decided to film other planes. For my Southwest fans, I featured the Florida and Colorado-One 737's up close in my recent Burbank spotting series :)
Alex Tait JANET is a flight designation for the flights going to Groom Lake, JANET is believed to mean Just Another Non Existing Terminal, they are white with a red stripe down the side 737's and fly out of Las Vegas everyday, the terminal is located across the field near the Excalibur hotel, nice job on the video
Never flown there I've always been a passenger in a car driving to Las Vegas! Do you know why the allegiant air has no American flags painted on their fleet?
I have seen British Airways and Korean Air fly into LAS. Maybe someone can add to this list as I am unfamiliar with the international carriers flying here. I filmed this video on a Saturday which is a slow day for air traffic in Las Vegas.
O OK THANK U LOL SEE IAM FROM NEWARK NJ LOL AND WE GET IT ALL LOTS OF 747 777 A340 SO LOL IF U WANT A REALLY GOOD SPOT MAK YA WAY TO NEWARK LIBERTY AIRPORT IN NEWARK NJ NOT NEW YORK GOD BLESS
The Saturday I shot this video was a slow day at LAS and seemed 80% of the traffic was Southwest. I included only a few southwest planes and added as much variety as possible. Next time I will add a few more SW birds in there :) Thanks for watching!
LoveJT8D great video JT, we live in Vegas and I loved how you added the sunset and mountains views. Could you please try to get the VA 747 take off or landing for us?
Thanks for watching! I would love to catch a 747 at LAS. This video was shot on a Saturday and definitely not a very busy day for the "heavies". I would love to come back on a Sunday when everyone is traveling home.
LoveJT8D Why zero Southwest aircraft, I noticed you didn't focus on anyone of them, but you did get them flying through your frame now and then. I know they are the busiest at LV and their paint scheme is rather nice. Did you have a bad experience with SWA?
jjs4you2 I have only had wonderful service with Southwest and enjoy flying them in and out of SoCal. I live relatively close to BUR and we see almost 90% Southwest planes day in / day out. The day I shot this video, there was so much Southwest that it was really the last thing I wanted to shoot. My spotting video at BUR however includes nice closeups of Southwest's Colorado One, and Florida One liveries.
The 757 has an awesome takeoff. Luckily the day I was there, there was absolutely no wind, so I think that allows the sound of the jet to travel more and sound louder.
The airport looks so bare without Concourse D, and the newer ATC tower. Also, this is amazing video quality for being made in 2013. This is always such a great reminder of what LAS used to be like back in the day!
Thanks! Glad you liked the video. I consider this video pretty amateurish as it was way before I even purchased a tripod, yet it seems to draw some good attention. LAS really does have a nice variety of aircraft flying in there (after peeling back a layer of Southwest haha).
Very nice video! Thanks for sharing this.My wife and I were in Las Vegas last week and I love planes but she doesn't. I would have LOVED to sit by the airport and watch these babies take off!
I'll have to try that spot next time. We just hiked down Sunset from the bus station and this seemed to give us a better pan view of the length of the runway. I guess we were fairly close to the lot, which you probably get much better audio of the plane spooling up there.
Excellent video, man! I'm flying into Vegas soon for the Mayweather fight, so I've been doing a little bit of research on where to spot. Hopefulky I can go to the top of the parking garage, depending on what runways are in use, of course.
Haha, funny thing is I really don't, however there were so many of them that day, I was trying to be selective and I could have sworn I included a landing on this vid. I'll have to do some Southwest spotting at LAX or BUR.
In the very beginning of the morning a cop slowed down a bit just to see what wee were doing. Once they saw the cameras they moved on. We weren't bothered the entire time.
I was so excited to see that plane. A little disappointed not to see the Allegiant MD-80, but I'm sure they don't want to fly anybody out of Las Vegas on a Saturday ;)
Not sure what Delta's equipment schedule is like now, but as far as I know they do LAS-ATL with a 767. I was booked on a 767 on that route two years ago.
Last 3x I've been to Vegas, had a southeast corner suite at the New York. I'd get a 6 pack and a pizza and sit in my dark room at night and watched all the planes taking off and landing. Seemed like it never stopped. Don't know why i was so intrigued watching them, but it was almost mesmerizing. Daytime was just as fun
9:31 About six hours later, it'll be time to prepare flip-flops for landing lol. That's what the HA ads said in New York at the time they began operating flights from JFK
Great job, love the video. Did any one stop to check what you were doing there, like cops? I will like to travel in the near future and shoot some video from this location. Thank you and take care, Jose.
really nice video! Also could you possibly tell me where you guys were standing, I shot a video of a 777 BA from the viewing spot on sunset and your too low you only really see fence. Again awesome video and thanks in advance.
fantastic video! :) really compliments, I also use a Sony HX100v 60p it's a really nice camera for spotting, great quality video! really better that some other videocameras, and strong video stabilization. I bought my HX100v from US to film at 60fps ;) really well done, awesome video from Las Vegas greetings from Rome
OOh look at those beautiful colors of the sunsetting sky!! And the mountains!! Beautiful shots! I miss it so much. :( When I moved there in '78, Vegas, and McCarran, was so small we got off the plane in the middle of the tarmac! Stairs!! I watched Vegas grow into the metropolis it is today! I miss the old days, tho.Night flights were nothing but blackness and then BAM . A little circle of neon lights and then we were landing already. I used to watch the planes from Russell Rd. I didn't know jet blue flew to Vegas, I checked once before and they didn't have anything, idk what was up. I ended up taking Southwest airlines. I got the funny guy for the steward... Madey trip back less of a hassle. I fell asleep the way there tho.
Never did plane spotting as such, but I worked as a rampy for Southwest Airlines at McCarran in 2005-2006 and even though airplanes were my job, it was great being around them. Always took the time to watch the Virgin flights leave. Got some nice videos of those (although I didn't have an HD camera back then) Caught some nice pushbacks from Aloha and ATA Airlines who used our C gates. Two airlines you won't see again unfortunately. Greta video you have. Thanks !
That was a great video. Thanks for not getting one SW in the mix. What type of camera are you using? The picture is so clear. I hope you have others to watch. Spotting in the US is not at all what it used to be.
and 1 month later: A clash of the North Americans in the Vegas Valley!!:0 But seriously I loved it. the backgroud, the action, everything. I liked the allegiant livery and the United 757 landing. danki (thanks)
Muchas gracias!!!
I once took a connecting flight to San Diego in Las Vegas on Southwest back in September 2013, and saw a British Airways 747 parked across the way at Terminal 3. It makes you wonder what will become of the old ATC tower.
I have been meaning to try one of those Jet Blue flights out of Long Beach. If you book far enough in advance, they have some really cheap fares on their LGB routes.
I'm not sure where this particular flight was going. However, for all of you Southwest lovers, I have included multiple Southwest 737's in my Burbank Airport spotting series. BUR spotting part 1 has been posted. Stay tuned for part 2 this Labor Day weekend.

Thanks! It was good to get a feel for the layout of the airport, and to seek out a few go-to points for spotting. Next time I think it would be cool to try the other set of runways. We saw 4 fighters, a GII or III, and other various business jets taking off from there.
Good times! This is one of those videos I come back to watch often.

amazing vid,thanks for posting
great shots!
Las Vegas is awesome!
Still love coming back to watch this one.
Jay's O'HareAviation Plane Spotting HD Thanks! Funny how a video that I never considered my highest quality work actually becomes the most viewed. I will have to make a sequel someday.
LoveJT8D The same thing happens on some of my videos :D
damn two years later
Looks like they 2 now!!! Wow!!
Love that JetBlue!

Absolutely amazing video, nice job:)
Yeah it is great man.
I live about 35 minutes from LAX so next time I will make a LAX spotting vid :)
Nice job, can't believe you didn't catch any of the JANET flights, keep up the good work
what are JANET flights
Alex Tait JANET is a flight designation for the flights going to Groom Lake, JANET is believed to mean Just Another Non Existing Terminal, they are white with a red stripe down the side 737's and fly out of Las Vegas everyday, the terminal is located across the field near the Excalibur hotel, nice job on the video
Thanks a lot I didn't know
Never flown there I've always been a passenger in a car driving to Las Vegas! Do you know why the allegiant air has no American flags painted on their fleet?
nice video by the way good quality footage :)
is it me or did that allegiant air 757 sound extra loud?
Epic sauce! :)
AA 13:50 what type of plane is it? Pretty cool how that engine kinda flip at the end..
+Ramon Quiray One of the last "Classic" passenger airliners still flying today with an Airline. Love to catch a flight on one any chance I get.
+Ramon Quiray MD-80
MD-80 series aircraft. Also known as the Mad Dog. American Airlines is phasing them out into retirement and replacing them with the Boeing 737-800s
great video mate that's a like and fav and sub.
4:14 that was a Spirit Airlines Airbus A319 taking off
Muito emocionante
👍
Isn't AirTran extinct now?
Any time I want to make a trip this aircraft
No Area51 Janet planes???
do air liners from other nations besids mexico an canada go there?

airtran doesn't exist anymore
Only had a chance to fly them a couple times. Both pleasant experiences.
VEGAS, BABY! You are so money and you don't even know it....SWINGERS

Mike Hamel if you go back the best place to watch them is in the industrial park on the corner of Sunset and Eastern Ave
3:32 It happens the same in São Paulo, Brazil GRU Airport. Some crazy people spread baloons near the airport, dammaging the air traffic. Great video.
Thanks for watching! In this case, it was a hot air balloon probably giving people rides. They were probably in communication with the ATC tower.
That DL Mad Dog tho! WOW! I miss flying in those birds. Also great to see HA still flying their first A332's!
Wow, that Spirit plane was an old hunk of crap. Would not catch me on that.
The enjoyment of a wonderful spotting time gone past made so easy by YT. I appreciate you hard work on this one.
Many thanks! This video was pre-tripod so was a real balancing act trying to get a steady hand-held shot. I guess it adds a bit of character.
LoveJT8D
Considering that I've never used a tripod, I like it quite a bit ;)
That new control tower is getting more and more finished.... Great spotting, man! Good to see that you and Ryan had fun.
now that was well worth watching......the quality is outstanding! Thanks for sharing........
A Maliglig I consider this my rough pre-tripod era, but glad you enjoyed it!
I'll have to try that spot next time. We just hiked down Sunset from the bus station and this seemed to give us a better pan view of the length of the runway. I guess we were fairly close to the lot, which you probably get much better audio of the plane spooling up there.

I never made it to the Eastern Ave spot. This was the same side of the street as the Viewing area closest to the fence, but just further down Sunset.
Not sure what Delta's equipment schedule is like now, but as far as I know they do LAS-ATL with a 767. I was booked on a 767 on that route two years ago.
No problem, we were right along Sunset the whole time, not as far down as the observation area, but right where highway 171 intersects the runway.
So it wasn’t only planes that you filmed, you also were able to capture a hot air balloon at 3:23. Beautiful view of the Strip Hotels by the way!👍
Ever get hassled by Homeland Stupidity?
They're off airport property, down the street from In-N-Out. No reason HLS should hassle them. Why do you think they would?
9:31 About six hours later, it'll be time to prepare flip-flops for landing lol. That's what the HA ads said in New York at the time they began operating flights from JFK
Linda live em vivo hoje 02.06.21 airport of las Vegas er vivo tinha que ser todos os dias day day yes
Hawaiian Airlines is sexy...lol
FormEEh Ohyeah It’s an awesome livery.
Great job, love the video. Did any one stop to check what you were doing there, like cops? I will like to travel in the near future and shoot some video from this location. Thank you and take care, Jose.

We are going to go on the new airplane that heads to las vegas to my family😄😜🏩
That's awesome! What airline are you flying? Enjoy your trip!
i wonder why on the ad says dont talk to maria in spanish to english eric palacios what you do with maria jeje 0:45
Yeah they actually flew a lot of them into LAS that day.
fantastic video! :) really compliments, I also use a Sony HX100v 60p it's a really nice camera for spotting, great quality video! really better that some other videocameras, and strong video stabilization. I bought my HX100v from US to film at 60fps ;)
really well done, awesome video from Las Vegas

Oh Yes, Sony is an excellent product! I use a Sony HD Cam HDR-XR150 and 2 x Sony cameras for my all videos.
I didn't know jet blue flew to Vegas, I checked once before and they didn't have anything, idk what was up. I ended up taking Southwest airlines. I got the funny guy for the steward... Madey trip back less of a hassle. I fell asleep the way there tho.
heaven's love I always love that light hearted feeling on Southwest. Whether you’re asleep or awake, they always make it less of a hassle.
Excellent video! Fantastic closeup views of the FedEx Dc-10 and United 757.
Thanks! I hope to go back to LAS sometime. This video was before I owned a tri-pod, so I would love to revisit this location.
❤❤❤
any ONMI air 767's ..Im flying on that air lines to LV next month
I got to fly on a Delta 767 from SLC to LAS back on New Years Eve 2004.
Nice footage. We almost never see 747s anymore except the Gateway Cities for overseas flights.
Never did plane spotting as such, but I worked as a rampy for Southwest Airlines at McCarran in 2005-2006 and even though airplanes were my job, it was great being around them. was this along Sunset blvd?

Great video mate ! Nice channel ! 5ubscribed
AeroporosGR JKL Thanks! Glad you enjoyed the video.
monday evenings are awesome both the virgin and speedbird 747's depart. I go to school at UNLV and the aircraft come right over the campus
Thanks for the vid! Next best thing to sitting in your car at the airport, watching the planes :)
Eric Boyles Thanks for watching! Nothing like watching planes if you have a bit of time to shed at the airport.
1:51 that's JetBlue flight 279 service to Long Beach, CA.
I used to always sit and watch planes when I used to live in Vegas. Still do when I visit there off Sunset Rd.
Did anyone notice that he skipped over all of the Southwest flights that were in or out? That was weird.
Joseph Glodek 10:14 ??
Great Video! Awesome Job! Really enjoyed this one! Thanks alot. rich
+Rich Hurd Thanks Rich! Glad you liked it.
They have mostly A319's, A320's, and according to their wikipedia page they also have 2 A321's. If the plane in this video came from LAX then it was more than likely an A319.
Hi! I will go to Las Vegas and Im searching somebody who teach me the places that are able to make spotting can I have your help mate?
World Spotting Airplanes This was taken from Sunset Rd which parallels runway 25L/7R. I've heard there's some parking lots around the area that have good views but I am not familiar with those places. Maybe someone local to LAS can weigh in here and give you some tips.
Oh nice. I will be at Hard rock hotel and I don't know if there I van get a good view
If you Google maps Las Vegas you can probably pick out some good spotting sites for yourself.
Thanks! It was good to get a feel for the layout of the airport, and to seek out a few go-to points for spotting. Next time I think it would be cool to try the other set of runways. We saw 4 fighters, a GII or III, and other various business jets taking off from there.
That about sums it up,
Nice video, but if you want to see planes from everywhere, LAX or SFO are your best bet.
Hey whats the deal with Airline Peanuts?
Smug Smugly They should be brought back. Pretzels just don’t cut it sometimes.
@@LoveJT8D I know specially when your starving
Awesome vintage footage!
Had no idea half these airlines went to Vegas! Cool
