Fantastic video. I moved to Las Vegas back in 1993 and when I wasn't working or sleeping, I was sitting on Sunset road watching the planes land. We had a huge variety back then and into the late 90's. Airlines called Kiwi, Midway, ATA, Royal, Air Transat, Canada 3000, Markair, Private Jet, MGM Grand, America West, Reno Air, Tristar, Aloha, National, Western Pacific, Access, Midwest Express, Aeroexo, Allegra, MagnaCharters and others. Lots of jumbo jets as well. Air Canada, Royal and Air Transat all flew L-1011's in here. Sun Country and Hawaiian flew DC-10's. United would have 3 DC-10's a day coming in from ORD and sometimes they'd do the 747's as well. Northwest used to fly a 747 to Tokyo. When they stopped Japan Airlines brought in a 747. Delta and TWA also flew L-1011's regularly. Continental would bring the A-300's in. We'd get diversions every once in a while and heaps of charters. I remember America West used to have a huge bank of flights going out between midnight and 3.00am. Some nights you could count 15 planes lined up to take off at 2.00am. Good times.
What’s nice is we have gotten the BA/Speed Bird flight back and international flights are operating again. I hope everyone stayed healthy as did your families. Here in Vegas we welcome you with open arms!
Awesome video great camera work. Nice catch with getting the Janet 737s. Great to see those old birds still flying. Again an exceptional video!! More please ✈ ✈
Loved that Spirit Airlines A319 in the beginning !!! A319 is one of my favorites. I call it the " baby" jet. The 737 was cute when it was a ",baby" but now that Boeing has tried to stretch it, it has become dangerous and is no longer cute.😮
nice video...I worked at the airport for many years...just retired..it's a great place to plane spot, nice airport....were you up in the parking garage when you filmed this...it's always been an out of the way place to take the elevator up to view the runways...used to go up there for breaks and get away from the crowds....I enjoyed watching this..very nicely done..thank you very much...
I live in Vegas and 90% of every plane flying in and out are 737’s and A320 family aircraft. When I was a younger we had so much variety of wide bodied aircraft.
At minute 37:06 you see a plane with a red stripe, it says that it comes from an unknown destination because it is the plane that leaves the employees of area 51 in Las Vegas

Nowadays there's mostly 737s from Southwest, the occasional A330 from Hawaiian, and I dunno if a 747 even flies there anymore haha
I will always remember America West and Northwest!
Superb footage, Vegas and its mountain backdrop looking spectacular in that late afternoon light.
