- My ride from Texas to the Oregon Coast on the Trans-America Trail, a cross-country route comprised of dirt roads. I set out solo and traverse the Rocky Mountains in Colorado, the deserts in Utah and Nevada and the Cascades in Oregon aboard my KLR650

After watching this, it makes me wish for younger days, there are more days behind me , then in front of me. advice: work to live, not live to work. Experience all you can while your young, LIFE IS SHORT
Im with Mr Bean 👍😆
daniel bean I m 65
just planning this ride now
I'm 34 just got my first bike VStrom 650, watching these videos to gain some knowledge for my adventures in the future.
You're too old, don't do it.
Amen
I watch a lot of these types of videos and I have to say this was great. Good narrative, no endless road shots, and thank god, NO TECHNO BACKGROUND MUSIC. Thank you, I really enjoyed watching.
Really pure and good. Thank you -
Thumbs up on the no shitty background music!
I agree on all points. Good writing for the narration and no annoying music.
Wonderful! And Thank You again for no stupid music!
I rarely ever comment on videos, but felt the need to after watching yours... Truly impressive, I hope you post more in the future...
Thank you, Alan. I too hope it's one of many more to come
Same here. Very well done.
Likewise. Thank you for sharing.
You have to comment more, then 🙏🏼
I live in Australia and am 65. I have done 5 major road trips on a road bike (each in excess of 2000km) but none of my road trips compare to your epic ride. Totally amazing !! well put together and just the sound of the bike -- best background music of all. I hope you get to do some more of these while you are young and can. Thanks for uploading. Stay upright.
Truly epitomizes what it means to adventure ride. Fantastic work.
*A W E S O M E* footage of a ride that many viewers will never get the opportunity to take. Thank you, thank you, thank you for taking the extra time and narrating your journey, and not overlaying your video with unimaginative computer generated music like so many other creators do. It makes your video so much more enjoyable and quite frankly, drew me in. My biggest regret about this video: I can only give it one "like". I wish the technology would let me dance all over that thumbs up icon. I can't say it enough - great video.
The narration reminds me of Lieutenant John Dunbar's journal in Dances With Wolves.
ya, very monotone.
Man that’s a dream ride, my hat goes off to you brother, most people like me just talk about this as you did it , nice video thanks
Thanks for NO TECHNO BACKGROUND MUSIC!! Good video.
Well done good sir. I've got a Mule myself, and 8000 miles of smiles on the Mighty KLR650. Laughing at the beeping horn. Dropped my bike right in front of a group of campers one day in the high country and that damn horn was blaring non stop while I struggled to get the bike up. It beeped so much that other campers came running thinking there was an emergency. Keep up the good work. Enjoyed it immensely.
Great video! I call my KLR "The Tractor." So far it has taken me from Canada to Ushuaia, Argentina, and back to Uruguay. Currently, me and my girlfriend are stuck in Uruguay, waiting out COVID19 border closures and lockdown. Hopefully we'll be rolling again soon.
it is rare that i see a video that i like as much as this one.
One of the best touring videos ever, in fact the best, I have seen and I have seen many!!
this is what all of us Weekend Warriors dream about.
Thank you for taking the time to set up the shots to document your TAT adventure, and for editing the video for our benefit. Many people believe their ADV travels must be a long series, day by day, adding up to hours. Sometimes less is more. You managed to give a great representation of the western TAT in less than 11 minutes, for maximal impact. I love your calm presentation that lets the trip speak for itself. I'm probably too old for the TAT, particularly solo, but I have a dream of riding dirt roads and back roads through the desert southwest and your video added to my motivation.
Nicely done! I've ridden for over 50 yrs but always on the street. I did tell the wife that when I retire I'm gonna dip my wheel in each ocean. That Trans-America trail is a challenge. Good job.
Best TAT video that I have seen, you let the route speak for it's self! It brought back some great memories from this summer, I did a solo run from cost to cost and will never forget it. Thanks
Excellent job of narration and editing to give us a realistic feel for your trip. Glad you made friends along the way and you didn't have too many serious mechanical troubles. Have seen many TAT travelogues and yours is among the best.
outstanding job on the film, well edited. You gave us a great feel for the trip in only 10 minutes. I really enjoyed it.
A sweet sweet narration of a beautiful ride. Thanks for sharing this. You meet a lot of 'regular guys' riding on regular bikes in irregular places, embracing dirt and life.
This is what adventure videos are meant to me. Loved it.
The BEST adventure video I have ever seen. Great video, to the point no BS commentary. Love it
What a great documentary of an adventure that you will forever remember! I really enjoyed your camera work. Thanks for sharing - I thoroughly enjoyed it!
I still cannot find adventure films like this. This video inspired me to get a KLR650 years ago now. It's been an adventure in itself keeping that thing afloat. Now I am confident in my riding. Time to take a trip. Maybe I should be one to make a video like this since I miss the feeling of watching this for the first time.
What a fantastic video. WOW. I don't have words. That was fantastic. Thanks for posting this.
Keep exploring dude. You are doing things most people will never do.
As with another viewer, I never comment on videos. Except this one. Well done. Fantastic short film.
Thank you for this video Drew. As someone who has lived in the Rockies for a good chunk of his life I truly appreciate your narration and images. Making friends on the road can be the best part, sometimes those friends will remain for your entire life.
Started watching videos of the Transamerica trail recently. this is by far the best video I've seen so far. Good job.
Good job.Enjoyed. I know you had a blast and will remember and take pleasure reflecting on it your entire life...
This is the America I love to hear about. Makes me want to ride this magnificent trail!
not one to usually comment here, but an inspirational piece. nicely shot and edited, encapaturing narrative. looking forward to watching more.
Great movie Drew. Thank you for going to the trouble to share it with us. Can't wait for spring.
Great film Drew! Some lovely shots in there. Thanks for taking the time to make it 👍🏻
The Crumble didn't expect to find you here mr crumble, you and the African twin are what brought me here. KLR looks like a decent option, what do you reckon? I'm thinking of a trip around tassie. keep up with video blogs mate, they make me smile.
One of the best TAT vids. Thank you sir!
I like to watch these videos before I go to bed and have dreams of doing just afew hundred miles of what your accomplishing. This video in particular has become one of my favorites. Thanks Drew for the awesome film.
Never have I seen such a great TAT video with such depth and feeling condensed into such a small amount of time. Fantastic! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for sharing the ride. Well written, well produced. Very enjoyable.
This makes me want to take my KLR across country tomorrow.
Incredible piece of work, one of the best motorcycling videos i've ever seen.
Nicely done! Get out and ride folks!
Came across your youtube Trans-America Trail Video. Its one of the best written, best narrated I've seen about any motorcycle trip. It was thoughtful, humble, and inspiring all at the same time. Hope you're still having adventures as often as you can.
Jeff Fletcher, author of "Marilyn Across America"
Excellent video, thanks for taking the time and for sharing the journey with us
Nice video,I made the trip in 1979 when I was 19,before GPS ( for me anyway). Now I’m 60 and all I can think about is doing it again. Especially with a modern bike,I did my trip on a Triumph that took me 5 months to modify.I still remember the people I met along the way. Thanks again 👍🏻
In the past 2 years after buying my tiger 800 I've started my bike adventures across the U.S. and your video has inspired me even more , good job
Truly enjoyed. Lots of work to shoot and edit, and the result was fantastic!
I watched this video before I began my journey on the TAT, then again after spending 3 weeks on the trail. We stopped in MOAB for 4 days before turning for home. For those who have the seen the west on a bike, they get it. Now back in Atlanta while driving to work everyday I think MOAB often. This video captures that feeling well. Good job.
A fantastic video that provides escape and shows the beauty of the duel sport. I often seek out this video to just to ride along and put myself in a better place. Thank you.
I've been riding for more than 48 years now, even raced old school motocross for a few years back in the early 70s. I became a KLR rider myself in 2006. Great video. I hope to see more like this from you. Very well done.
Great, thoughtful work with illustrative, well produced video and articulate narration! Great ride and a really outstanding effort in documenting it!!
One of the best riding video and pictures through out I really enjoyed it thanks
Beautifully filmed and narrated, and summarises so well the true beauty of motorcycle travel.
Definitely one of the best videos I’ve seen on the topic. Great to see more if possible. Thank you.
thanks for taking us. this was fun to watch and I can see you spent a lot of time making this.
What a fun video friend. Glad you did it and thanks for posting!
Running out the door but just had to mention how much I enjoyed your video. I'd love to see a much extended video of your journeys. You're meant to be a story teller, there's no doubt. Never stop doing. And please continue to bring us along on your adventures from time to time.
Drew, fantastic video! Great story, and what a great adventure.
Can't wait for the next one.
Thanks, Bill!
By far my favorite adv video. Great work.
Very nicely done! I'm amazed that the TAT can be done on something other than a huge GS1200...sarcasm.
That was excellent. So well done with story-telling and cinematography. Bring us more please!
I got goosebumps and chills while watching this!
Well done. Thank you for sharing!
Very Nice Video. You have done what most of us dream of. Congrats on your journey!!!
Now that's how you make a riding video. Great writing on your narration. Your words add fuel to my fire for riding the TAT one day. Excellent video!!!

Great short movie mate.
Colorado makes me want to visit the States.

I can't believe I just now saw this video. Fantastic! Just enough time on each scene (great scenes) with the narrative to stay engaged. Very cool trip and nice video.
Outstanding cinematography, narration and editing. Well done!
Really good video. It's what road trips should be about.
I follow a lot of TAT and BDR route videos and your narration and video (while not as fancy as some) is one of the best.
Very cool video! Looks like an amazing trip. Thanks for sharing this wonderful video!
Very well done. I enjoyed every second of that.
Outstanding video Drew , like others stated you'd are a great narrator / journalist with documentaries ...... you inspire me to get my big blue DR650 out on a real adv. trip
superb video my friend, great trip. Thanks for sharing!
Absolutely a fantastic video, well done!
Now THAT is a motorcycle adventure. Great commentary and video editing.
What a epic trip! I really enjoyed the video, thanks for sharing man.
What you did with this story is just exceptional. My first comment on a RUclips video and I’ve seen MANY. Wow! Makes me want to put this ride back on my bucket list.
Listen to that KLR chug. You can hear each revolution. You can hear the reliability, the indestructibility of that bad boy. I kind of want one
Very nice job on the video !! Great adventure look forward to seeing more !!
Wow just found your channel ❤ awesome adventure. Iiterally have tears in my eyes watching your adventure. That's what humans are missing.
Well Done! Thanks for taking the time to do this. I've done the TAT from the east coast and had to stop in Colorado due to snow. I had a window for dates that I couldn't change. I dropped down into New Mexico to do the NMBDR - check that out. You've increased the yearning I have in my soul to continue West young man. Thanks for that!
Apologies it took me so long to come across this, that's a lot of awesomeness to squeeze in to just over 10 mins, well done and thanks for sharing your awesome adventure!
Excellent video. Thanks for sharing. Three of us are starting the TAT in a few days. This video just gets me even more excited then I am anyway!

A truly wonderful video for us and memory for you. Get in all the exploration that you can before you wake up one day and find yourself on a Geezer Glide.
What a great trip, real and raw definitely more crisp on the back of a scooter. Love the Mule! Great true story thank you. I’ll be following you,!,! 👍👍👍😎🇨🇱. Don’t forget to enjoy the ride!!
Stunning video, I felt drawn in immediately like I was there! Like many makes me wish that I had done this type of trip when younger but also has given me resolve to try new things.
