Great comparison. I have the VideoMic GO II, and it's really good. It also has two shock absorbing mounts for the mic, so it eliminates the floppy mic issue. I do like the new mount design for the VideoMicro II. Rode always makes good mics, so I would be happy with almost any Rode mic.
Finally someone talks about the previous shock mount!! Drove me nuts! lol

the old version of the videomicro is much better, especially outdoors and in windy conditions, I just returned it on Amazon and I'm keeping the old version
Clipping in the cable on the 1 made it solid on the mount, but yeah good point for sure, that wobble was real
Big negativ point is that it just got 110db spl instead of 140db on the first gen. That reflect in heavy distortion in windy conditions and also useless for recording loud car audio or drums

For me they sound almost the same if not the same so I`ll keep my original micro a little bit longer.
Outside the original is better than the VideoMicro II, as each time you moved the camera with the new version you can hear the wind.
Will the new shock mount fit on the older mic?

I didn’t hear any difference whatsoever between the mics .. non, except the tiny volume change ..
What were the gain settings between the Micro and the Go? Does the Go fit into the Micro mount?
