It's crazy how much better the Pocket 2 internal mics sounded vs the Videomicro 2. I'm guessing the DJI has noise cancelling and the Videomicro 2 has the lower SPL and wind-issues even with the dead cat on. Thanks for this awesome and detailed test!
The RODE girl for sure! About the mic, I like the price for sure. I don't know about the noise in outdoors, does it comes with a deadcat, wait.. it does :) Did you had tomatoes with eggs? I'm trying to catch up with your videos
H Young, me again! I use Rode microphones with my video cameras. I think they are a great combination of very good audio quality at a sensible price. This one sounds really good at blogging distances which is not always the case as you demonstrated with the built in microphones. Nicely presented yet again. Cooking was a good demo! Being a shotgun mic - the front tube with the holes is an interference tube that cancels out some noises coming from the sides which makes the microphone more directional - it is ideal for talking head type shots. Wireless mics - especially the 'al in one' type tend to have omnidirectional mics that pick up audio equally from all round - sometimes wanted, sometimes not.
Hello there! Such a great reviewing is that? I'm subscriber of you since I got my Zhiyun M2s! (Your review is one of the reason to buy) And right now I'm watching your Micro II review and it's so detailed! Thank yıou so much Young!

I had a Rode Video Mic with the 9 volt battery. One of the very worst battery door designs in the history of earth. I threw the mic in the garbage. The Rode GO mics are good stuff when they don't pop or have other signal problems. I've had good luck with the tiny Rode Video Micro and believe it or not a super cheap Takstar that I got shipped from China. This Micro II seems good but I'd like to test a Deity mic. I'm in Thailand now so it's not like when I lived a train ride away from B & H in New York City... lol. Another good review... ty.
Nice video review. I find that it sounded a little scratchy? Your RODE Wireless GO 2 sounds much better. I have the first RODE Wireless GO and that is crystal clear, providing I am directly in fron of the mic. It does tend to bend inwards when I have it clipped onto my shirt. BTW, if you do a full cooking video, I will DEFINITELY watch that!
when it was windy, the mic performance wasnt as good. but in non windy condition, Video Micro 2 worked really well :) i dont think i can do cooking vid...i am terrible at cooking and not a fussy eater 🤣🤣🤣
@@Young360 OK, that's good to know. I bought my RODE Wireless GO initially to video my car, as I was going to be at least 3-5 metres away. Now I am using it for my computer videos and I am right next to the microphone. It's still working well, except now I can't switch off the microphone, so it runs flat after use, then I have to recharge to full, and repair with the receiver every time. A little frustrating but still working. I'll look at this shotgun mic next.
It is actually funny hearing people that can't say the Ø letter 😆 (no hate) You know RØDE means the color RED in Norwegian, Swedish, Danish, German and many other countries in Europe. So it fit the color they use on the mics. OnTopic: nice, I have the first Video Micro and I love it.
Thank you very much for sharing, very good informative video making! The beautiful young lady looks very good in the hat with the logo!Fantastic product presentation in the correct way! This product provides good sound for many video creators! Good day everyone in strength, health and peace! Good luck! Happy holiday preparations! 🎊🎄👍🏼🍀☀️👆🏼📦🎅🏼
Too much wind noise. But nice warm sounding voice. The wind noise is unacceptable. From the branches in the background it looks like just a gentle breeze.
Big negativ point is that it just got 110db spl instead of 140db on the first gen. That reflect in heavy distortion in windy conditions and also useless for recording loud car audio or drums Also voltage output is too high for many cameras which lead to distortion.
The connection to the phone is laughable since NO quality phone made today has a TRS or TRRS plug on it. Nor does the iPad. If your camera doesn't provide the power you need than this is totally worthless. Suggest people check that they have power out from their mic plug before they waste their money. Lots of popping in the video also, nope will pass on this junk toy. Living proof you get what you pay for

yeah, i just did tomatoes with eggs...but didnt show the finished meal as it didnt look that good 🤣🤣
Have you tried the Rode videomic go II the slightly more expensive shotgun mic? Would you say it's worth the upgrade to get that one instead?

great observation! yeah, directional mic definitely has great use in specific usage :)

Hi Young360 I have my headphones on and the sound is really great nice and crisp but also smooth. Thanks Young take care and 👀😎 see you next time.
Best review of this product I've seen so far
thank you ❤❤
Thanks for reviewing this
Marked it as a wind test but didn’t use the windmuff 🤦🏼
Interesting, this might be my next vlogging microphone 🤔. Thanks for sharing your experience.
✌️😎
Fantastic promoter, really! You convinced me. 👌 So perfect for cooking video.
But it is monaural only. So good for one voice in front but bad for surrounding sounds.
cant wait for the full review of DJI pocket 3
but when will it be out?
What other camera did you use to record this video? I liked it a lot honestly
What vlogging handle is that? 4:10

Thank you, Young. Too much windnoise, almost throughout. Was the deadcat on?
the big sponge was on, not the massive deadcat
It works great in doors, but outdoors the wind screen needs an upgrade .
Still hear the wind.
you are right it's unreal great microphone

Very helpful. Thanks much.
Great video. Where can I get that bennie?

I guess that's why they released almost straight away the rode videomic go II with usb C connector.
Very bad wind cancelation , unusable outdoors
