What a Beautiful view of Downtown Chi-Town, And Lake Michigan. The Sears Tower standing so proudly, welcoming everybody. You ought to see Chi-Town at Christmas from the sky. Absolutely Beautiful. Looks like a Kaleidoscope of color ❤. Going home to Chi-Town in June, to hang out with Fam. Can't wait !! 🤗🤗🤗😍😙 Just hope the "chipmunks" aren't flying MY 🛬🛫✈ jet ! 😆😆🐿🐿🐿
Not only can you see a cool view of downtown Chicago, but you can see Navy Pier, the John Hancock building, and then it flies over Elk Grove Village where I used to live. Very cool video!
Yes, over River Rd. following Lawrence Avenue , crossing over 294 and Manheim Rd. were the old Twilight Room used to be, now the Pink parking garage, good catch my man!
There's nothing cooler than driving down Lawrence Ave. when a 747 is on final for 28C. And, in my opinion, there's nothing wrong with fast-forwarding through the less essential parts of the video. It helps to keep the interest of the viewer.
Yeah, did that yesterday Labor Day 2018, the viaduct under the tracks just East of Manheim was flooded, big storms, even Terminal 5 was flooded, had to U-Turn all the way back to Cumberland, but nice ride when its sunny and dry and planes overhead!
I think for this flight was about 155-162. This was for Flaps 25. 4200 from Touchdown to Vacating the Runway might be a bit too less. Our landing distance over 50 Ft normally is about 8000-9000 ft. But again depends on the Brake settings etc. Lot of variables.
Gordanovich02 not sure what the reference is with Meig's field. But one doesn't fly over nothern island inbound to O'Hare. Not always. Only if you are flying from south east and south. Otherwise make a left downwind for 28C.
Ok... did aircraft inbound to O'Hare (from those directions) always overfly (or at least get close to overflying) Meigs Field while it was still an active airport, or only since the runway was destroyed in the middle of the night without the FAA-mandated notice period on the orders of (then-)Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley, stranding a number of aircraft at the field?
Gordanovich02 I wouldn't know about the period when meigs field was active. I would say they could, depending on what class of airspace was Meigs field. For now yes, you do overfly it often, sometimes even on a long downwind they vector you above the lakes before making you join the final for 28C. Thanks for the comment. Good to learn about it. Didn't knew that was an airport. Now it is just a garden!
This must be cargo of some sort coming up from CVG?? This is just speculation, but I don't think many 747's come in from the south side. The only 747's I would guess to be on the same flight path would be a cargo flight CVG-ORD, MIA-ORD, or a SDF-ORD.
You are right Brandon. This is a Cargo flight. Most of the flights comes in from North (usually Anchorage). However, once in a while you do flights out of Dallas, Atlanta to ORD and as you mentioned Miami as well.
Usually it is quite easy. Sometimes it can get challenging in the air when you are getting close to an RJ or following another Jumbo. On a clear day it can be more difficult then a gloomy cloudy day! No IFR separation on clear days! Navigating on the ground is the one that can be the most difficult.
Also, Midway has had a major overhaul. I get so lost In that place. ITS so BIG, Almost as big as ORD. at any rate, flying in to either one, I'm HOME!!! 🤗😍😚. I miss Chi-town. cuz 🎼🎵🎶🎤 Its MY KINDA TOWN🎼🎵🎶. I moved to FLA in 84. and I hear these days are not to good in my-town-chi-town😢. Come ON PPL!! TAKE CARE OF THE PLACE💎!! YOUR GOV OFFICIALS SUCK!!! Done this several times. My last trip into Ohare was in 2005. It was also the oddest. Coming back from London and flew over Chicago and kept on going. Finally turned around near the Quad Cities on the Iowa border. When we landed the 747 did 3 real scary swerves on the runway. I was watching the wingtips going "shit!" No one said a word when we departed.
@@mikolajmikun5337 Thanks Mikolaj. The 747 cockpit is tricky with the window shape posing challenge to fit a proper DSLR camera. Believe it not, this was shot on an iPad mini! But I got few other options, will be trying the DSLR and the ND filters as you recommended. Appreciate the feedback!
@@TheJumboJetDriver thanks for quick answer. Why aren't you using the gopro hero camera? Restrictions for pilots to mounting camera on window in 747? New gopro camera have nice deshaking function (I mean 8 edition)
@@mikolajmikun5337 there are always some restrictions or limitatuons camera and PED in general. But challenge with 747 is the layout of the cockpit and the windows. It is a bit narrow compared to the 777. Side window mounted camera is blocked by the pilot and the front mount blocks the pilots view. I got the gopro. Doing some recording will post them over this month.
Either let the video play at normal speed all the way through, or play it sped up all the way through. That back and forth bullshit got real fucking old real fucking fast.
There is nothing worse then speeding up and slowing down the video at random times. I cannot see any reason for it. It happens randomly at every point in the video.
Fabulous views on approach and a beautiful landing!
Fabulous, breath-taking panoramic views from the Pilots' vantage point !!! Smooth landing ! Thanks for uploading !!!

Seems like a great weather for flying! Interesting perspective and very nice footage :)
It was! Thanks a lot
I didn't know that Alvin and the Chipmunks could fly. Great landing btw!
Sounds like Alvin and the Chipmunks were ATCs that day.....
suzy cherie thats the best comment I have heard so far.. thanks..i know speeding isn’t good..didnt knew.

I work in elk grove. I love seeing them flying in for landings or take off when I'm outside on my breaks
Elk Grove Village is northwest of O’Hare. This approach was from the east over Norridge and Schiller Park.

I couldn't agree with you more!!! Especially when I'm on the service roads at work watching them come in is amazing.

That would have been a perfect video at normal speed. Severe clear weather and I think it started over Gary Airport. Really a shame.
youtube channel 310 Pilot has a great Chicago video
Ill get the original uploaded in sometime.
Nice. I always forget what a MonsterPort O'Hare is. So gigantic.
It sure is. First time I went there as a Passenger. I got lost! It is a Huge Airport!
Loved the video keep it up!!!
Thanks Dan.
I remember when flying into Chicago I thought the plane was going down because all I saw was houses and buildings at first😂
Thanks for sharing
Awesome video!
Thanks!
The scenery is so realistic.
Because it is!
That's cool, Thanks
Thanks
How long is that runway? Seemed kinda short to me.
Gorgeous views, but why is the playback speed so random? It actually sped up just as they were showing Chicago’s downtown. Still, it was cool to see.
Awesome
Thanks
What was your VREF speed? I know it was a while ago lol. Looks like you used 4200ft for the landing rollout.

Wonder why it exited the runway to the right, then taxi back again, to circle back? Should it just have taxied to the left to begin with?
Nice views Subscribed
Thanks Captain...will upload more videos..
10/28C seems to be the prime landing runway, especially for long haul.
It is.. especially for the heavies coming into ORD!
Did aircraft inbound to O'Hare always overfly Northerly Island, or only since Meigs Field got Daley'd?

I've gone into Midway. Right over the roof tops.
that must be fun.
Navigating around O'Hare should be easy. Just follow the path more traveled.

Neither!
@@TheJumboJetDriver then what plane?!?
@@charlieleiman3784 747 but for an Asian Carrier. BR!
O'Hare is about to get bigger. They announced tearing down terminal 2 and rebuilding it. Terminal 2 and 3 are the remaining original terminals at ORD.

The Jumbo-Jet Driver Yes, but I am a pilot as well. Never landed ORD but I myself bothering someone else as well when I land over homes.

The Jumbo-Jet Driver Diamond DA40 out of Waukegan Airport UGN
MATT THE AVI nice, miss flying the SE piston. So much fun.
Wow you didn’t go far out over the lake at all must’ve not been too busy
No not really. Depends on the arrivals how far we go out over the water.
Do they ever clean the runway?
Often, but it keeps getting more rubber everytime. That's a pretty clean runway for one of the busiest airport in the world!
I love these videos, but there is nothing worse then speeding up and slowing down the video at random times.
Rocky Spock apologies, will post normal speed videos next time..
I liked that he sped it up and the monotonous times.
If you find normal airspeed is boring, I feel sorry for you.
Rocky Spock he slowed down to show the skyline

True. It's been a while but if I remember the touchdown was at about 1800ft.
I have to give it thumbs down because he kept speeding up and normal speed plus no audio over 90% of it
