Onboard a mighty Boeing 747-8, operated by Lufthansa. This video includes part of the descent & the beautiful approach into a very cold afternoon in Chicago. Starting as we approach the city from the north, over Lake Michigan which is partly frozen before turning to fly past the city and the airport, before spinning back around to approach ORD on RWY10C.

Yes, the short final was real low, especially around rte. 83, and into crossing York Rd and the parallel railroad track and finally just barely high into the west threshold of that runway next to Irving Park, agree with you!

I spent 33 years working for the Post Office in Bensenville and that approach into 10C looked totally normal. The threshold is just east of York Rd and the tracks. The approach lights actually straddle York.

All major airport charts have a Threshold landing height as you 'cross the fence'. Nothing out of the ordinary on the final.@@dc10fomin65

Anytime the engine RPM matches the digital shutter shutter speed it will appear as though the engine is stationary...so it is an optical illusion.
