Even updated this fight sucks compared to fan-made fight in Hacker ending of System Shock Infinite. Still I'm baffled by this fight in remake. In original you gathered soft and knew, that it would help you later in boss fight. But now it is "you gather all soft and stuff, so forget it - we give you gun, pulled from our *sses, and shoot SHODAN without any serious problems, because we have no idea, why we even bothered with cyberspace!".
Hi everyone. It appears they've added a cyberspace integrity health bar to the fight as of patch 1.2.1887 released today. If it fully depletes just once on Cyber 3 difficulty the game is over. If it fully depletes once on Cyber 2 difficulty you respawn with half health but if it depletes again the game is over. If it fully depletes on Cyber 1 difficulty you respawn with about three quarters health and it appears the respawns are limitless so you can't lose. You don't regenerate health in any of the difficulties either.
To be honest while its mot much of an improvement they at least heard people complaining and tried updating the final fight, which means their listening and might release more updates later on. Unlike many game companies who never change anything
Oh, so it's more like a puzzle now, I guess I can't blame them with wanting to represent how original fight was I wish they made this fight outside the cyberspace, maybe with destroying scattered servers on new floor, with enemies actively hunting you and SHODAN shit talking you It feels more "physical" and real for me to do shit outside of cyberspace, it feels immersive, when cyberspace is just a silly minigame
Actually, I wish it would contain both, cyberspace and normal space. So my 9 medkits, 20 patches, 5 upgraded guns, 300 bullets and 25 batteries wouldn't go to waste. They could have done a lot more with the boss fight, but no, stayed true to the original - the original bossfight also being garbage.
Wow this is really interesting, had no idea how basic the launch fight was I think adding the extra puzzles is a big improvement! I also really like her face appearing as she hacks you in the original, maybe they could do that in the remake where it appears as you get damaged instead of a health bar but that might also be annoying for the player 😅
All of her cyborgs are destroyed, the bridge is disconnected from the station and she's only trying to upload herself to Earth. Also on Cyber difficulty 2 you don't die from losing in Cyberspace.
You got to respawn? When I played the updated fight, I got a game over every time I died. It must be because I was playing on 3333 difficulty, where dying in cyberspace kills you outside of cyberspace. This is compounded by the fact that the player's health is hidden and doesn't regenerate, and you can't save in cyberspace.
If they're going to take away infiinite lives in the boss fight, fine, but at least let us save or give us a check point so we don't have to sit through the ridiculously long and slow entrance every time. Fucking devs and their meddling.
idk why I can't find this video searching for it, but it's in the steam forums for the game and that linked me here, ty very much. I will say, don't bother asking for help from nightdive on their discord, their mods are a bunch of useless pricks
To be honest this whole update is garbage. Can't place markers on the map, clipping through elevators, I had guns on the screen when not in my inventory, like 5 times, I saw dead enemies doing funky things to the wall because of collision issues, two times, I dropped my gun to pick something else up and the gun just disappeared from the game, and when it comes to this boss fight, I love how when you die, you will serve Shodan well in the... destroyed space station? There's no conversion bays, and all the robots are destroyed, so getting the standard game over makes no sense. They could have done like something in the original, where Shodan takes over your mind, but no. Lazy. And you have to watch the intro every time you die.
@@kimhim5380 Apparently a hotfix is on the way, to at least resolve map markers, adding custom map markers that you can name, like in the original, and it will hopefully fix more things, like the boss fight, having to watch the intro every time you die is really annoying.
The final boss fight was extremely difficult, but don't blame the game, blame yourself for being not good enough. I would have appreciated one health node at least and not having to watch intro over and over, but otherwise, nothing is broken here. Too many people whining and crying because they cannot beat the final boss. I have failed like 15 times now and still trying, but my frustration comes from my silly mistakes, not the game. Seriously, QQ me a river. Good riddance!
It is, but it's still not good enough. This update took what, a year to come out? And the ending is still meh. Better than before, but the standard game over screen makes no sense, as everything is destroyed. And watching the intro every time you die is annoying.
I recommend System Shock Infinite. There are two variants of SHODAN battle. For the first version get 6 agility, 6 energy weapons skill and fully repaired emp-rifle. Shoot "Dr Polito" as soon as you see her. For second version stick to the plot. She will not disappoint you.
Final boss is shit… you have 3 lives and you cant see you health bar, the only hope is to use an upload by ps plus to avoid to restart all the fight that is very frustrating😊

Ah, so that’s how it works! I’m on 3 difficulty for everything, so it looks like I’m going to have one hell of a time on the final boss!

Agreed. Nightdive is one of the few studios remaining that I still respect. They bring a lot of heart into re-imagining these classics.
Yes but the did a disaster in this case
Gotta love the Public Image, Ltd. song at the end.

trvth nvke
Not posseble (story wise)
shodan has tougher armor not, It cannot be destroyed from the outside so it must be done internally in cyberspace

AI still doesn't try to hack your brains off while you try to Crack it.
No failure state in a boss fight is aeugh.
Prince of Persia attests to that.

its the same in 2222 difficulty too. If Shodan kill you, you will get invited to inside of cortex reaver.
This is fucking broken. Who designs fight like that where you can't even see your health and can't save?

Can you still revive infinitely if you are not on cyber 3?
You have a limited number of of revives from my experience. Around 3 or 4. After that it's just a normal death

old bugs and new bugs going on... guess got to wait for patch 1.3

Yeah I honestly gave up on completing the ending given how unnecessarily shit it is
Honestly this remake took the wrong route. It was TOO faithful. Other remakes were better like Black Mesa.

This isn't much of an improvement :/
it's so much beter than old version tbh

@@darkempire4182it's not. Now on difficulty 3 you can't even see your health and if you die you start from before the fight with shodan dialog.
I've played the demo and I wasn't really impressed with it. I guess I'll stick to the original or enchanced edition.

Wow this game was fun and all i see is a bunch of gen z kids crying on how hard the game was.
