Valve is confirmed to be at CES next year with Lenovo to showcase Steam OS on one of their handhelds. So, I can see Steam OS being on more devices much sooner then later. On the topic of a Steam Machine 2; we know that it's code named the "Fremont," and that it currently has a full HDMI port, a custom AMD APU, and a micro controller that can used to, say, make the console communicate with your TV and/or enable core boot. We've also seen a leaked model of it's controller, which is using the Steam Decks layout, and the controllers for the Valve Deckard, their new VR headset, were also leaked. Tbh, this is kinds pointing towards a big release of all the devices at once.
@@pixels_2124 I didn’t know they were confirmed for CES with Lenovo, yeah definitely coming to more devices sooner. Oh man that would be a lot to announce, they would really start 2025 off with a bang if they did that!
@@EmanuelC The difference between the models seems rather confusing, but I'm at least happy to see SteamOS on another device. Even if it's coming later in the year. I'm also excited to get my hands on the SteamOS beta that is releasing around the same time. I'm definitely gonna try and install it on things other than handhelds.
No, the Steam Deck doesn't have the required hardware to dock with an eGPU, and all the leaks point towards a device code named "Fremont," which has a full HDMI port, a custom AMD APU, and a micro controller that can used to, say, make the console communicate with your TV and/or enable core boot.
Xbox says they're making their next console super powerful, and there's rumors steamos might be on Xbox. Maybe this console is future plans? Microsoft and Valve are having a showcase at some show soon so I expect we might get a hint then. It's hard to imagine Microsoft abandoning hardware. But I can easily see Valve do a deal like ea did with ea play. Gamepass, Ea play and steam os for players would be very attractive against Sony. Xbox is making money off game pass and that's mainly the console that I think we'll keep them in. More consoles means more game pass subscribers. They have to make up what they spent on these studios but who knows.
@EmanuelC portability and str8 UI, all gaming no bs, i can just pick it up and do a marvels rivals match from my bed, i can suspent my nier automata session for days, it's comfor gaming at fingers touch and battery is quite decent, plus I'm in a poor country (romania) and I can put my fitgirl, gog etc games on it
I don't want to buy a console. the best thing about steam is that you can play on your computer. I'd rather have a linux system with steam if they're having trouble with microsoft.

What do you think of the Legion Go S?

Thanks for telling us what's really up!
You’re welcome!
SteamOS on more devices will be cool, at the very least could light a fire under Microsoft and windows to be better.
@@neatgamestv yeah steamOS should be on everything! Maybe they’ll put it on phones too 😂
could it be a eGPU for steamdeck? a powerfull docking station for the steamdeck

@pixels_per_minute ah thanks. Well, im buying it anyway , valve all the way
@@NikuaRanger do you have the original steam deck or OLED? Some sort of improved dock would be a great release at some point.
@@EmanuelC OLED since last summer, best purchase I ever did. Would not mind a more powerfull way to play on a desk, if its a steam "console" lets go
Steam home console
Yeah a steam home console could be great

What do you think of the Lenovo Legion Go S??
I rather play my steam deck oled than my main pc with a 2080 super and 3900x (144 hz 1440p) or my laptop with a 3070 and a 5800h {165 hz 1080p)
What do you like better about the steam deck over your pc/laptop? Controls, portability?

@ that’s true it is pretty straight to the point. Portability is a big plus compared to a pc/laptop
if you have a pc or laptop that you dont use much and need someone to give it to hmu lol
@ haha I’ll definitely keep you in mind

@@joise14 would you be interested in a steam deck 2, or just the option to put steam os on other systems?
Bro. Microsoft lost to Sony. Markt is satured, thismnot gonna happened. We gonna get Switch 2 and 1 year later maybe SteamDeck 2
Yeah Microsoft is getting out of consoles. But I’m sure soemone will come along to challenge Sony. they wont just dominate forever.
we gotta hope the steam deck 2 will be good cus no way in hell the steam deck 3 will release
What do you think they need to add for the steam deck 2 to make it successful?
@EmanuelC all I want is more power. Its pretty much a gaming pc from 2016, but handheld.
@@vVearon definitely needs more power. Besides that anything else? Detachable controllers, smaller form factor, higher hz screen?
