Excellent video Sarah . I have them all except rainforest and seaweed but my studio has a gallon of seaweed so I really do have it. . I decided on storm instead of rainforest but feel like I need to have rainforest now. I do love sky and ancient copper . I got a bunch more for Christmas and have test tiles/ test tiny bowls drying so I can test them . I have about 20 combos on my list. Love all your videos. They fire at a hot cone 6 in my studio and I feel my textured turquoise go a bit yellow and patchy but I am going to try the obsidian TT combo and hopefully I get some nice colors. 💕
Hi Cindy and thanks for watching. It was sooooo difficult picking my top 10 (well top 11 😆). Storm is lovely and again I use this often too. So many glazes to use and try out - is it any wonder I'm obsessed with Glaze 😆
Hi Sarah! I love when you discuss glazes. I will have to rewatch the earlier video where you show many you invented by mixing them together! That video blew me away!! In that video, you mixed weeping plum with snow and created a delicate, soft pink. I now use this pink exclusively!! Mayco's Pink Opal is too much!, Weeping Plum, alone, too plum, but the beauty of the mixed new Celedon is magic! Thank you from Farmington Hills, Michigan USA!
Hi Debra - I love the weeping plum and snow mix too. As well as Snapdragon and Snow mixed 50/50. So many possibilities with these glazes and I'm not sure people know you can mix as well as layer. Amaco do it - Tangela is just a mix of Snapdragon and Marigold! Cheeky of them. Thanks for watching again. Always great to hear from you. 😄
Amaco snow is the perfect canvas for painting on as it doesn’t smudge once applied. I have used underglazes, glazes and oxide washes as paints, the design stays in place perfectly, I fire to 1220c
Hello Sarah, a very good combination for me is also: River Rock (PC 67) under Oatmeal 😊… With Amaco glazes we get so much wunderfull results in soooo much variants of combination. Thank you for this video! Through you I have heard from Amaco glazes and now they are my faforites ☺️… best regards, Ines 🤗
Thanks so much Ines. I'll try the River Rock and Oatmeal. Interesting combination. I think Amaco are the best on the market for layering and mixing. Much more consistent results than with other brands. Thanks for tuning in again 😊
50/50 mix rainforest and Marigold gives a really pretty green. I do love blue rutile under textured turquoise. The layering combos are endless. You gave me some new ones to try, thank you. Great glaze video Sarah! I have most of your top 10 and love them all. Need to add Rainforest & Glacier to my selection for texture and underglaze transfers, as you have demonstrated here. Have you tried Oatmeal over Blue Rutile? It's gorgeous; really intensifies the blues! Also love oatmeal over Amaco's River Rock PC67. I would have to add some Mayco to my top 10 list. Norse Blue (SW166) is very nice and looks great in combination with Seaweed & Obsidain. And Birch (SW131) is a very nice satiny, creamy beige-ish color on its own and works great in many combinations. Thanks for your videos. I always find useful information in each one of them!

Hiya and thanks for watching. I glaze fire to 1212 degrees centigrade which in my kiln is a cone 6. I have reduced my firing from 1225 degrees as it was too hot for some of the glaze colours. Hope that helps 😊👍
Hi Carol. My Glaze program goes to 1225 degrees centigrade. My kiln is hotter at the bottom where it's a full cone 6 and cooler at the top where its 5.5. Thanks for watching. Hope that helps 😊

Hi Jo and thanks for watching. I don't use any earthenware in my studio - just stoneware and porcelain (for which I use the stoneware glazes). Sorry I can't help with that. 😊
This is an excellent video, I just love it. Do you tend to brush or dip.
Hi William and thanks for watching. I always brush on - I think you get a better finish and a more consistent result. i find with dipping that you can get a lot of different thicknesses if poured. Glad you found this video useful.😀
I love the way to teach - you are clear, thank you. May I ask, I am starting with Stoneware Clay Cone 10, can Amaco be fired to cone 10?
Hi and thanks for watching. Amaco are generally Cone 5 to 6 glazes. I've not tried taking them to cone 10 I'm afraid so I can't really give guidance. There is an Amaco-Brent Facebook page that may be able to assist. Hope that helps you 😊
Merci Sarah, très intéressant votre top 10! Dommage qu'en France on ait vraiment beaucoup de difficulté d'approvisionnement... le plus apprécié pour mes clients est le PC 23; moi, j'aime beaucoup le PC 25... 😍
Merci Beaucoup Laurence. Thanks for watching 😊
Thank you for this video! ❤ I did not catch what you are firing these glazes to. Cone 6?
Hi Kate and thanks for watching. Yes, I fire to cone 6 - top temperature is 1225 degrees centigrade. Thanks for asking. Hope it was helpful 😊
Great video. Where do you get the catus transfers?
Thanks for watching. I think they're an Elan Transfers design but could be Ceramica Transfers. Hope that helps 😊
Hi Sarah, thank you for this video. I am awaiting the arrival of a kiln so am obsessed with all things glaze! I prefer a matt finish, do you have any recommendations for this?
Hiya and thanks for watching. I do have some matt glazes so I could do a video on these. Watch this space! 😁
Excellent video- very inspirational. What cone are you firing to?
Thanks so much for watching Sally. Glad it was helpful 😊
@@thepotterycorner
Hi what come we’re you firing to?
@@sallycook4386 - glaze firing to 1212 degrees centigrade. It's a high cone 6 😍
Hi Sarah, what cone do you take these to when you fire them please?
Hiya and thanks for watching. I glaze fire to 1212 degrees centigrade which in my kiln is a cone 6. I have reduced my firing from 1225 degrees as it was too hot for some of the glaze colours. Hope that helps 😊👍
What temperature are you firing these glazes at please. You have lovely results
Hi Carol. My Glaze program goes to 1225 degrees centigrade. My kiln is hotter at the bottom where it's a full cone 6 and cooler at the top where its 5.5. Thanks for watching. Hope that helps 😊
Hey Sarah! Great video. Can I pls just ask with blue rutile being a pc do u take all 3 coats to the bottom? Did it run? Thanks hun. Yr Aussie friend in clay Nat xx
Hi Nat - great to hear from you again. Blue Rutile is stable - no problem. Might not stay stable if underneath one of the movers and shakers like Oatmeal or Seaweed for instance. 😊
Hi! Are these your 10 (+bonus) AMACO glazes or top 10 overall glazes? 😎😎 Cuz, we could use a list of your MAYCO, Spectrum, Opulence, or any other glazes too!
*Yes, I'm just begging for more of your superior videos!
Ha ha - I'm already planning a Mayco Top 10 due to popular demand! These 10 (well 11) are more or less the glazes we use in the studio everyday - and they mix and layer really well. Thanks so much for making me chuckle 😁
So cute you thought not to show favorites....😃
Sooo hard to choose just 10 (well 11!) Thanks for watching 😊
Love all your choices. I’ve been working with clay only 1 year and have over 150 glazes! Addicted! I made a studio in my big garage and produce up to 4 pieces daily. I now know my calling, and obsession! You are a wonderful teacher,, speaker and overall lovely! Thank you, I have binge watched your videos and am thrilled..
Oh, I live in Solvang, California from Santa Barbara 3 years ago
@@DebraUyesaka hi Debra and thanks for watching. You really are obsessed with Glaze. I've not counted mine for a while but I haven't got as many as you 😆. Thanks for your lovely words- much appreciated. 😊
