  • I built this casual redwood coffee table from some old lumber we reclaimed. The redwood we used was from an old water tower we had to tear down that was on a farm not far from where I live. Most of the weathering I sanded off to get down to the beautiful part of this old growth redwood. I included drawers and a lower shelf for all the essential junk I keep on my coffee table. It's a beautiful piece of redwood furniture now.

Love the drawer runners instead of expensive slides.

Yes, my rule is that furniture gets wood runners ; slides are for cabinets.

This turned out better than I thought it would. Both my wife and I liked the finished product. Nice work!

Very nice project and love the fact that you up cycled the wood. What kind of spray equipment did you use and what type of finish? Thank you

Its a Wagner Capspray HVLP system. I applied 2 coats of water white clear lacquer sanding sealer and 2 coats of water white satin lacquer. Thanks for watching.

New woodworker here - what straight edge guide are you using in the video? Looking for recommendations

Not expensive at all. Made in Taiwan . Bought it at local hardwood store . Frequently, I simply clamp down a really straight piece of wood. A track saw should be way down in your list of priorities .
