    All good but in this situation would you leave behind those nice cams? Expensive day out on ski ...would it be bette to just leave one piton or dyneema loop in place

    Good video, but first you tie the prusik backup knot and then feed it through the belay device. Otherwise when you have the rope dangeling it can be dificult to feed it through, this way you have slack between the ancor and prusik

    Far too complex. No way you’d tap down 20 pitches using such a slow method. IMO.

      @Andrew, I use more or less this same system in any rappel situation (ie an extended connection for the rappel device and a tether for subsequent anchors). Once rigged it takes no longer to go back on subsequent rappels. The only time I would use a simpler rigging is for a very short rappel that I know will land me straight on the ground with minimal chance for rockfall or other overhead hazard. The longer/more complex the descent (20 raps for example), I would most definitely use this system with a back up as the probability and consequence of something going wrong is amplified!
