One of the best songwriters☀️ ...What a grande fellow.🤩..He once said Irelands audiences🍀 were his fav and the best to play for....he stood up for Sinead🍀 O'Connor on stage ... even wrote a song about her and the ill treatment she endured for decades... now they are having the last laugh together as she was right about so many things she fought for, as was he ✅️...both way ahead of their time in standing up for the underprivileged and the wrongs of the world again and again...⭐️ In 1992, Kris Kristofferson comforted Sinéad O'Connor when she was booed off the stage at a Bob Dylan anniversary concert for tearing up popes picture which was aimed to bring awareness to the church and ill❌️ treatment of innocent children. Sinéad O'Connor, just 25 years old at the time, was introduced on stage by American singer-songwriter Kris Kristofferson. He later wrote this for her saying... May we all have her courage. May we all tell the truth.🫶 Words to the song are: "I'm singing this song for my sister Sinead Concerning the god awful mess that she made When she told them her truth just as hard as she could Her message profoundly was misunderstood There's humans entrusted with guarding our gold And humans in charge of the saving of souls And humans responded all over the world Condemning that bald headed brave little girl And maybe she's crazy and maybe she ain't But so was Picasso and so were the saints And she's never been partial to shackles or chains She's too old for breaking and too young to tame It's askin' for trouble to stick out your neck In terms of a target a big silhouette But some candles flicker and some candles fade And some burn as true as my sister Sinead And maybe she's crazy and maybe she ain't But so was Picasso and so were the saints And she's never been partial to shackles or chains She's too old for breaking and too young to tame” You were both the best truth advocates we had💯 ...fly high and have fun 🎉playing whereever you are🎵
Yes, me either, and I've been a fan of his for over 50 years. I, also, thought I'd watched every Midnight Special, but apparently somehow missed this one. But I was already a huge fan of his, when this would have aired!
Not sure he ever gave her up. But she did him, after they had a baby, and he still continued to cheat on her! She broke his heart, but he broke hers, too! And she said she never would totally stop loving him. And though he had an over 40 year marriage after theirs, not sure he ever totally stopped loving her, either.
Kris kristofferson was a wordssmith like no other. RIP great writer , singer and actor.
Loving him, his music, poetry forever

Concerning the god awful mess that she made
When she told them her truth just as hard as she could
Her message profoundly was misunderstood
There's humans entrusted with guarding our gold
And humans in charge of the saving of souls
And humans responded all over the world
Condemning that bald headed brave little girl
And maybe she's crazy and maybe she ain't
But so was Picasso and so were the saints
And she's never been partial to shackles or chains
She's too old for breaking and too young to tame
It's askin' for trouble to stick out your neck
In terms of a target a big silhouette
But some candles flicker and some candles fade
And some burn as true as my sister Sinead
And maybe she's crazy and maybe she ain't
But so was Picasso and so were the saints
And she's never been partial to shackles or chains
She's too old for breaking and too young to tame”

I
I loved Sinead's voice & have seen those comfort/ supporting videos of Kris at the concerts were Sinead was booed. 😢
Thank you very much for sharing this ❤
I'm still so surprised he died..88..but thought he'd live forever😢
He always seemed. Timeless thanks, Kris, for your music.
I know they went through difficult lives, but like so many of my heroes: they left a gift to the world!
Rip and joy Kris Kristofferson

I love this! Thanks for posting.Does Paul Williams break 5 feet?
is that Glenn Frye in the light blue shirt?
I've wondered the same!
John had Yoko but Kris had Rita. Why in the world did he give her up?
Read Rita's book! He two-timed her!
@@albertopick3585 just two timed? I would guess quadruple time or more
