The very great and holy Kris Kristofferson and and his dear wife Rita Coolidge way back in 1973 , When Kris spoke his voice worked it way all the way up from his leather boots, Kris was a very great man, an honorable man, a man of peace and justice, a friend to those lucky enough to meet him .A very bright light is shining brilliantly bright, May God grant his soul eternal peace in heaven

Merv was trying to impose his own ideas of what their life should look. Kris was a Rhodes scholar, college grad, Army special forces. Writer, singer, actor, friend to his friends.

One of the best songwriters☀️ ...What a grande fellow.🤩..He once said Irelands audiences🍀 were his fav and the best to play for....he stood up for Sinead🍀 O'Connor on stage ... even wrote a song about her and the ill treatment she endured for decades... now they are having the last laugh together as she was right about so many things she fought for, as was he ✅️...both way ahead of their time in standing up for the underprivileged and the wrongs of the world again and again...⭐️
In 1992, Kris Kristofferson comforted Sinéad O'Connor when she was booed off the stage at a Bob Dylan anniversary concert for tearing up popes picture which was aimed to bring awareness to the church and ill❌️ treatment of innocent children.
Sinéad O'Connor, just 25 years old at the time, was introduced on stage by American singer-songwriter Kris Kristofferson.
He later wrote this for her saying... May we all have her courage. May we all tell the truth.🫶
    Words to the song are:
"I'm singing this song for my sister Sinead
Concerning the god awful mess that she made
When she told them her truth just as hard as she could
    Her message profoundly was misunderstood
There's humans entrusted with guarding our gold
And humans in charge of the saving of souls
And humans responded all over the world
Condemning that bald headed brave little girl
And maybe she's crazy and maybe she ain't
But so was Picasso and so were the saints
And she's never been partial to shackles or chains
She's too old for breaking and too young to tame
It's askin' for trouble to stick out your neck
In terms of a target a big silhouette
But some candles flicker and some candles fade
And some burn as true as my sister Sinead
And maybe she's crazy and maybe she ain't
But so was Picasso and so were the saints
And she's never been partial to shackles or chains
She's too old for breaking and too young to tame”
You were both the best truth advocates we had💯 ...fly high and have fun 🎉playing whereever you are🎵

Loved these two. Sorry it didn’t work out for them. However he did meet beautiful wife Lisa and seemed to have a good marriage and 5 children! 41 years. That’s amazing. So happy for them.

Great interview, it’s weird, I was craving watching Pat Garrett and Billy The Kid, so much, I ordered the DVD from Amazon, I opened the package and it said Warning, Do not open DVD unless you have a PC set up for videos, so I had to spend it back in September. We had to go to California for a few weeks, my parents were put in Hospice in January, my mom fell and broke her hip, she passed away in March at 88 years old. My dad has dementia and he’s deaf completely, no way to know how long he has . I was not surprised by Kris’s death, it felt about right, this year has been the hardest year in my life, I look just like my mom, I also look like Rita Coolidge, I have been told since I first saw her in 1970 with the Mad Dogs and Englishmen tour. Everyone has always said I look like Rita, finally, an interview where she is truthful about her being honest about her heritage, she says she doesn’t know how much Indian or what tribe & Rita said she wasn’t sure, maybe Cherokee. I read her memoir in 2016 when it was released & she states that she is Cherokee on both sides, but her family got left off the Dawes Roll. I saw Kris and Rita on a beautiful October day headlining an outdoor music festival, Bluegrass/Country/Rock concert with bands that started playing at 11am and continued until midnight. A beautiful full Harvest Moon rose behind Kris and Rita, we were sitting right next to the stage, front and center, it was so good. It’s too bad Kris was suckan alcoholic when he & Rita were together
