I've seen people asking why she needs a rework and all I can think is that she's a bruiser that got powercreeped so hard she became an artillery mage.
Pretty much. Having on hit bonus damage but no way to stick to targets to proc said bonus damage aside from a clunky gap closer kinda does that to ya XD
There is the possibility to play her AP melee shyvanna, with night harvester, rylais and nashors.
It isnt the MOST viable because you implode, but it is a fun build.
@@chriwehl7173 with the new buffs on shyvana going ap is basically the most viable they gave her 40% ap ratio on q and her movement speed on her w now scales with ap.

Personally I don't play jungle,but I'm playing her top with ravenous hydra and goredrinker and she works really good in my opinion,she would work better if she was made less reliant on AP and just make her scale with AD seen her kit

As someone who OTP's Shyvana since 2015 and am short of 100k mastery points on her to reach 1 mil. She does have issues with her kit and everything, but what makes her different from other champs is that she can easily adapt to any situation needed within a single match, albeit a bit hard to pull off. Recently after preseason items came in, AP is not good as it was before, mainly due to cooldowns and the damage output, she's basically now a 2 shot rather than a 1 shot as she was just prior to the preseason.
But now with new items, she has a lot more option than ever before, my now go-to items are Frostfire Gauntlet, Titanic Hydra, boots depending on matchups, then Thornmail and Randiuns if most are AD champs or Spirit Visage and Force of Nature if most are AP champs, but the last item which is really important to have is Gargoyle Stoneplate which allows you to not only mitigate damage but survive the late game fed up the enemy team and giving you that very small chance of a comeback and winning the game. Also in the case of 2 AP and 2 AD in the enemy team, then I got with Sterak's Gage and Warmog's Armor just to stack up damage and slow, but I still take Gargoyles as the final item, because those 2 items allow me to soak the damage with extra health I have
As for runes, only 3 viable keystones are Conqueror, Press the Attack, and Dark Harvest, everything else is not really good on her. My go-to runes on her with the build I use is Conqueror, Triumph, Alacrity, and Last Stand. Now for secondary runes, I go with Conditioning and Overgrowth which allows me to stack the defense stats from drakes but also gain absurd amounts of damage from just having a lot of health due to scaling of FF gloves and Titanic.
The verdict; I can confidently say that Riot truly doesn't give a shit about her, the only ones that care about her are the Art Department in Riot's HQ. I mean you can look at the 1670 days since she last time got the skin. Not to even mention they don't even bother to buff the baseline damage for her abilities to make her viable in the early game or give something more to her passive, besides objectives damage on drakes and getting defense stats from it. The fact that they threw her aside to rework on Mundo instead of her when she was literally the 3rd pick on poll and 1st on Chinese poll. But unfortunately, she is in the state now she is, not even mention I'm having a gut feeling that somehow Riot will mess up her rework. As for her mechanical plays and etc, she's easy to pick up, but really hard to master, especially in higher elos. Basically you either love her or you don't.
Also, her true counter is Master Yi and a good matchup against her is Udyr, but everyone else is not really able to counter here when you get all items

Not to mention they just made her go back on the polls with Nocturne so she has to fight AGAIN to get her rework against the likes of Udyr and Skarner now and it angers me.

So I'm like what the fuck are pulling this shit on us.
Because Riot loves and hates Shyvana at the same time, that's how it feels like when they're making the decisions that are indirectly or directly related to Shyvana.

@@Machinens @Ryūjin Shyvana was THE reason I started playing League around preseason 5 cause I liked her design and just a major fan of dragons so seeing her being treated like this sucks a lot.
And as you brought up the Mundo part I did remember hearing she was #1 somewhere so that just proves your point on the love/hate with her.
Like how you have stuff like Duskblade K6 and Yi running around but we can't get numbers back on her Q to this day? As I recall the only thing they nerfed to Yi was his Q cooldown which.. does nothing.
The guy who announced the poll in the video even said they didn't hit all their marks for updates in 2020 so why not do the ones already voted for and then add your new candidates?
@@DSHaseo I started playing league back at the start of season 2 but didn't have any main until 2015 with Shyvana.
Afterward's I started maining her and here I still today doing it.
She was literally number 1 on the Chinese poll like winning by a fucking mile and yet she got side fucked for whatever reason.
But it's clear that Shyvana is like a trophy champion they show it off to but never do anything with it anything meaningful

If you reach a 40+ mins game then sell the Triforce for the Divine Sunderer, you only need 1k gold extra "which mean nothing at that point". Also Triforce is much better for the early and mid game, so DO NOT think about buying Divine Sunderer in the early game to save 1k gold

Without watching the video, its a very simple answer: Because "mark someone and melee autohit him during that short time window for bonus % dmg without having any CC and 1 clunky gap closer" doesn't work in 2020 / 2021

Shyvana has always been one of my favorite characters, and is the one I have the most mastery on, but when they did that minor rework, I couldn't play her as good as before anymore, but I keep loving the character
I think it's great that you can build her in so many different ways. No other champion(at least no one I can think of) has such diverse builds. I hope she doesn't get changed much, I loved Voli before his rework, now he's much stronger but he feels not as great

Good video. Almost all of the points brought up are valid.
One thing I disagree with is the outlook on her reliance on E. Yeah, full AP, you ult and E, and you just have to wait around for another E, but it makes her such a good counter to late game team fights where they want to group up.
She's also, in a way, a different look in the Nocturne playstyle. Farm to 6 and gank with ult.

Shyvana is currently my 3rd favorite jungler, after Kayn and Rhaast. I usually go with a hybrid build, that uses a Nashor's Teeth and Demonic Embrace as first 2 item, Conqueror for keystone, defensive boots, and Sunfire Aegis for a mythic, then the rest are tank items. She won't oneshot anybody, for sure, but the damage output, and frontline potential makes up for it.
I started playing around Leona's release and Shyvana was the first champion I remember being excited for before her launch. I've played her so much over the years, but even this version of Shyv is foreign to someone who quit in 2015. Her E used to shred armor which made her an great tank bruiser. To think of her as a burst mage now feels weird.

I used to be a shyvana jungle main back in like season 5 or 6. I stopped playing her for a while in favor of some other champions, then found out people were going full AP burst. I tried it ONCE and I was like "this isn't the same champion. What have they done?" But the on-hit, attack speed bruiser build was so weak I couldn't do it. Now, in summer of 2022, hybrid damage bruiser shyv is here, and I'll take that. It feels much more satisfying. But she still desperately deserves a rework
Shyvana is a champ I started playing after reading a comment on reddit to team fights "Press R, and then press E"
since taking that advice, AP Jungle Shyvana has become my highest WR champ and I'm going to main her the rest of the season, dark harvest + night harvester + R + E feels so good, soloing the dragon early game also objectively feels very cool
I'm new to Lol, so this video was really usefull. I thought I'm kinda nub, but now I understand why it's hard to play her. I understood some of the things u talked bout playing her, but yeah, being new to the game this video definitely cleared out some other stuff I didn't know 👍thumbs up
Personally, if I were going to rework Shyvana, I would put a clear focus onto her duality and potential conflict as both a fearsome, magical dragon, and a refined Demacian warrior.
Use her fury meter as a representation of her state of mind, with her gaining certain benefits and weaknesses to balance as you tick up or down. Maybe she starts as a refined duelist who converts AP into on-hit damage. Her abilities would thusly focus on helping her ability to stick to enemies and out duel them through skillful technical play. Perhaps she uses her gauntlets in some sort of improvised boxing style, and the more she fights and her fury goes up, the more wild her style of combat becomes. Perhaps she begins undergoing partial transformations as she struggles to resist her nature and keep the 'refined Demacian soldier' act up. This could make her attacks slower, but hit much harder. Or maybe her attacks become much, much faster, but begin doing less damage per hit as she seemingly exhausts herself and expends fury. I'm not really sure about this.
Regardless, when she reaches max fury, she just goes balls to the wall pure dragon rage, transforming into a gargantuan juggernaut with high cc and damage for a short time in a race against the clock to crush her foes before her stamina wanes.
I'm envisioning some kind of ultimate where she transforms into a dragon and begins stampeding in a line. Everything she comes into contact with then gets dragged along with her, with Shyvana picking up speed the farther she goes. She would stampede for a time until either reaching the end of the ability, or she hit a wall. Enemies who are slammed into the wall by her would be stunned, with the duration being determined by the distance traveled. From there, Shyvana could lay the smack down on whomever was dumb enough to get in her way while she was feeling the big mad.
In doing something like this, you could simplify her build paths a bit without limiting her to only one playstyle. Do you play the refined Demacian on-hit fighter and manage your fury for the outplay? Or do you give in to your draconic rage and destroy everything in your path?
Instead of stampeding make her fly
shyvana will prolly be next in line for a rework since she was on the last rework poll and both voli and fiddle have already been reworked and mundo is currently being worked on. I really hope they embrace the onhit/bruiser playstyle rather then the ap playstyle since I feel like it could be allot more interesting. maybe more similar to aatrox where she's still a bruiser but she relies more on casting abilities then right clicking.
I think they should do that, but also make her do full hybrid damage on a if her abilities

Excellent video. If Shyvana gets the things that you said about Jax (gap closer, self defense and CC) she will be a loooot better, but I think she also needs a single playstyle. Or everthing scales mostly with AD, or with AP, cause as you said, you can't build both and do a good job.
All I really want is for Shyvana to have a clear identity and for her kit to represent that. Whether that be as an overwhelming juggernaut, an on-hit bruiser, or as an artillery burst mage; I don't really care. I just want her to have clear and concise identity so I don't have to worry about a weapon getting mildly changed and completely tanking my champion.
Love her. W is so satisfying. Fiery washing machine! I like auto resets, too. Her fast clear is nice!

just pick either ap or attack speed and make everything scale off that. or get rid of ap altogether and make shyvana an ad/attack speed champion because the vast majority of attack speed items like BORK, trinity force, etc give you ad. this way she could scale off those items argueably even better than champions like jax.

I started playing Shyvana and found her quite powerful Season 11. My summoner name is Võx and I take Exhaust/Smite, with main rune being PtA. Build is Nashors > Boots of lucidity > Riftmaker > Gargoyles (if enemy has high burst or fed carry) or a AP item like: Morello, Void staff or Zhonyas. I have managed a 91% winrate over 20 games and now average is 60% with a 2.8 kda average.
Side note: A few dragons and Gargoyles and you will literally reach almost 200 armor and 150 MR without any other tank item other than Gargoyles Stoneplate...
Her half-and-half scaling reminds me of old school Sion. You had both AP and AD scaling and builds, but you had to dedicate to one or the other, and the other half of the kit was pointless. If you tried to go hybrid, you were just ineffective. You either went stun + shield bomb with AP or stack E and push with ult as AD. But even then, he had some natural tankiness to him which Shyvana doesn't have even now. I mean, she gets a small buff to armor and MR with dragon taking, but it's not substantial enough to be felt. Stoked to see her reworked.

I'm a shyvana main since the beginning of season 6 and I was a shyv otp for a long time, because... Well, I love dragons!
But also because back in the day, she was a fun and easy way to learn how to play league. Her kit is pretty easy to understand, without any complicated synergies between her abilities. I was able to focus on learning my role, instead of the champion.
Nothing satisfies me more than ulting into the engaging enemy botlane, throwing a fireball onto their faces and turning on the W if anyone wants to make it out alive.
As you told, she has a pretty interesting history in the items she buys. One of my favorite items is Sunfire and I still love to build it with her.
Shyv is my girl and I know how to treat her well.

I liked how she was one of the few that could solo dragon in s6 or 7. Now every jg can do it pre 6. Ehh, i preffered the old jungle when it wasn't so op.

This is a great video!!! I have one teeny tiny complaint... Welcome to my "Despite what people believe, Shyvana does more damage than Master Yi ted talk" (its a bit, sorry!)
Shyvana definitely has more damage potential than yi. If they built the same -> bork, rageblade, wits end, dead dance, guardian angel, and berserker greaves (common on hit yi build), shyvana does quite a bit more damage per second than yi does, AND the more hp the target has, the more it favors shyvana. In this particular build, youre getting +90 armor from GA and DD, and 50 MR from wits end. Combined with a dragon soul, this does make her somewhat reasonably tank as well. That said, Im not a fan of new deaths dance and GA on shyvana in this regard. My FAVORITE build in the world, was bloodrazor + wits end + rageblade + bork + gunblade + OLD deaths dance (the one that gave you 15% healing on all damage dealt, not the reworked or new one). So you'd have 4% MAX HP damage physical, 3.75% MAX HP damage magical, 80 magic damage, 80 LIFE ON HIT (this is huge actually), 6% MAX HP damage (averaged from bork), 80 extra ap, 40 AD, 75 extra AD, 30% (THIRTY!!!) healing from ALL DAMAGE, 12% life steal, and on top you';d get bork active slow + gunblade active slow. The REAL kicker was rageblade here. So youre sitting at well over 300 AD for starters, combined with extra 80 AP from gunblade. Although you were a far cry from the "Tactical Nuke" full ap shyvana E, after those items, still could do almost 1000 damage (lvl 18 with this build, your E hits for 955, not counting infernal drakes, elixirs, or baron buff). Rageblade had 15% armor pen AND 15% magic pen, which was outrageous.
So against a champion with lets say 4000 hp, 250 armor and 250 MR (this rarely happened by the way), (did the numbers!) you'd R on top, then E -> AA -> Q - > AA. The total damage from this combo is 3035 magic, and 2851 physical, premitigation. Postmitigation, with rageblade penetration -> at a .321% damage conversion -> 974 magic + 915 physical -> TOTAL DAMAGE -> 1889. Each auto after does a further 331 post mitigation. So in essence, 6 more autos to kill the target (its less because of rageblade ghost procs!). Given that I ran lethal tempo, my attack speed was actually close to 4 attacks per second, so time to kill from intial ult (counting time AFTER landing), we're looking at less than 2 seconds to kill this tank. From lifesteal, you are gaining 40 HP per auto, wits end gives you 80 per auto, 30% omnivamp gave you 99 per auto; so PER AUTO ONLY, you are getting 219 per hit, and rageblade proc double this to 438. Averaging a slow 5 procs per second (you can get up to 8 with Q's + rageblade procs), this is recovering you 1095 per second JUST from the autos. "But where are your boots??" WELLLLLLL, this starts assuming you can use R to pounce on anyone (its not hard), BUT that said -> burnout gave you 50% move speed alone. This is enough to run down most champions actually. On top of this we had the bork active -> this slowed a champ with T2 boots to ~289 move speed, while also putting you at 621 move speed. This is enough to run down champions with dashes. Still not enough? Well gunblade ALSO has an active that would slow a champ with t2 boots to 231 move speed while you are over 500 still. You really just didnt "need" boots. The extra icing on the cake? This damage wasnt limited to "casting an E" and hoping it lands, it was always there. You didnt *need* dragon to melt literally any champion. It also meant you could take barons and dragons STUPID quickly.
The REAL problem shyvana has is dealing with point and click CC and her ineffectiveness at dodging skill shot hard CC. With t2 boots and burnout, even ezreal cant "get away" from her. The problem is she is absurdly weak to crowd control, with no skill expressive way to handle it. So, either she needs CC herself or needs an effective way to avoid those said CC's. With relatively longer cooldowns on your ult, which is your main engage/escape tool, meant you are extremely susceptible to hard CC, compared to other champions.
I remember when the only top laners used were Shyvanna and Rennekton in LCS for a solid year.
Strangely enough, I play AD shyv Top lane and not in the jungle. She used to be in this spot a long time ago and while sort of cheese she fits in very well here. It helps that EVERYONE thinks you are going the AP nuke, hammer of GOD every 6-second strat and are take the wrong stuff to deal with the W-Q smack smack chase down that you can do at LVL 3. I pick up some core stuff but work Garg Stoneplate in pretty quickly and it helps a ton. It's a great time and I have not only a ton of fun but also quite a few wins in the lane with this.
I personally have picked her up as a ad jungler/top going divine sunderer-titanic-force of nature or dead man's plate (pending on ad or ap heavy enemy)-force or dead man's (what ever you didn't build before) gargoyle Stone plate and beserker greaves. Love this vid. however you said that you can only go either Melee bruiser Shyv or full AP fireball Shyv. Now in Season 11 that is sadly the case. but man was Hextech gunblade a good item on her. this combined with Nashors meaned Ad+Ap+omnivamp+attackspeed+on-hit+cdr which meant she had everything to burst everything. especially tanks marked with her E. only problem was her defensive but you gain that back once you slay those dragons.

I love going through the comment section on a video like this looking at people complaining that AP Shyv will be OP a couple of weeks ago, while all that buff did was pull AP in line with AD at a "solid" 47% WR.
1 month ago i was rank 100 shyv in euw, she is so funny and simple, she make me focus in macro gaming and not in micro, i love her.
Would love to see if they could bring back the old W when she use R and use W in dragon from she leave flame on the ground
I was thinking that since they have decided to add an AP ratio to her W's movement speed and a AP ratio to Q's damage now, that maybe there should be an insert of text showing that now AP is the only way to go to get full scaling on all her damage except for W's burnout.

I'm a Wild rift player and Shyvana is the champion i've played the most. I instantly fell in love with her, because she is a fcking dragon.
I found out that she is not at all mechanically complex and that was a good incentive for me, a noob, to start playing her. Disclaimer: WR Shyvana and LoL Shyvana are slightly different. Wild rift Shyvana's abilities in dragon form get enhanced depending on the dragon taken. This to Vars fans is a red flag for inconsistency, because taking Dragons, and especially the first 1-2, is not entirely up to you (e.g. Enemy team can group, allied team can ignore pings and etc).
The thing about her ability enhancements is that they are only available in dragon form, which itself is an ability enhance, that is not always available. The bonus effects are extra slow for Q, extra mspd for W, true damage on schorched enemies for E, more hp for R. I'd say only the E enhance "makes sense". I think she needs a different way to get enhanced abilities, and that she needs them in her human form. For some reason I've imagined an "evolution through usage" mechanic.
Another "issue" is that her kit feels incomplete. Sure you can scorch an enemy from far away, but good luck catching up with them with a minor mspd boost from W. And even if you manage to somehow get in range you can only Q and AA for the %hp damage. And Q cooldown is big, despite the 0.5 cd reduction per auto. And enemies can literally just walk away to get out of range. Her ult is cool and all, but it being her only dash AND cc makes things harder. In the lore she jumps a beast mid flight, so why not make her q be a targeted dash with, say, a root at least? My idea is to make her ult an aoe knockup which makes her airborne, make her dragon q a crash down to cc airborne enemies or displace ones on the ground, and allowing and ult recast while she has fury. This sounds a lot more like something a dragon would do.
You mentioned her fragility, and I can agree. In my experience the durability the ult gives isn't much, and there isn't anything else to it, besides the cc, and she doesn't have innate sustain either. A better example of a self buff ult is Nasus- gives you more hp, aoe damage, and less cd on Q, which is his main source of damage.
After watching some of your videos i can confirm that she basically has the "old cookie cutter design" syndrome - she has the straight line damage, the damage over time aoe, the aa enhance, and ult locked mobility and cc. May have been good back in the days, but those days are gone.
I play a lot of Shyvana top lane in p1-d4 elo and I can safely that botrk is the only core item on her if you build ad. She is very good at pressuring lanes and strangling gold out your opponents.
It's a shame that she's forced to have higher gold than her opponents to have to win though. She rarely beats any other fighter/duelist on equal footing.
@@VarsVerum It depends on the matchup. If you run tp ignite and get your first item mythic which is a Divine sunderer you can 1v1 almost any melee top laner even when you are a little behind. Sunderer is such a huge powerspike for her so sometimes being a little behind is fine. Shyvana's early game is very weak levels 1-5 so if you play safe you can just run your opponent down level 6 with ignite. And if they survive you just force them out of lane with your dragon-form E and force them to recall. I know Shyvana is not that strong but the surprise factor is a huge benefit for me.
Shyvana got buffed recently which makes her quite good, one weird thing she has though is that cloud drakes have literally no impact on her ultimate, making for example '3 cloud drakes' useless but '2 cloud drakes but you have cloud soul' be straight up awesome, which seems, well, weird
If you build ryalis first then hydra your dragon form becomes a steady threat

I feel like i would extend her w duration.A shield that restores outside of the battle but it's only active while the ability is active and also enemies are very slightly slowed while in the range of it.Also add her passive 20hp per drake and her ult should airborne for 0.75 sec the enemies she jumps on.I hope i didnt add too much but i think that only then people might start considering shyvana as a better champ.

It's been a while since this video but since i've been playing Shyvana something always stuck with me with her kit, especially after the discovery of her AP Playstyle. If they want to rework her, she should keep a magical dragon theme and keep her versatile playstyle, she is a rather simple champion but the difference between a good Shyvana and an amazing Shyvana is adapting your build to your and the enemy team, choosing a playstyle on the spot during champ select, it's why i love her so much. It would be really sad to see her rework being another "brick" in the wall, with one build path that's truly viable and anything else is just trolling.
I ve just started playing her again and she feels awesome, first few games i tought shes trash but once u get grasp unto her she feels unstopable.
She was the first ever champ i got my lvl 7 mastery point for. Im exited for the rework becuase i dont like her anymore, i only played her for her cool dragon form but even that isnt as cool as it should've been
Idk why i never experienced these issues. Then again i built her differently. Bloodrazor then titanic into either Botrk, Nashor's or Guinsoos. Infact Guinsoos was amazing for her onhit because the ap still boosted her on hit build which people seem to ignore. Even if it wasnt much. But combined with Nashor's and Guinsoos that give a lot more AP on hit with the pens on Rageblade it was hard to outduel her.
If i needed to go tanky that wasnt a big issue because Bloodrazor did a lot of hurt. It was kinda slept on tbh

Deal bonus damage to dragons
Q: gain 500 range on your auto attacks for a view seconds. Your auto’s deal 50% AD 30% ap. Gain movementspeed towards enemies depending on missing health.
W: create a circel of fire around you, dealing damage and giving you movementspeed. For every auto attack you land, the movementspeed, damage increase as well as the size of your W.
E: fire a red dragon in target location, zigzagging. If it hits an champion, it creates a firecircel dealing damage in that area. Shyvanna or any other ally can pick the circel up, gaining movementspeed and attaching the circel to their body. Picking up the circel exstents the duration of the circel. Every autoattack landed while having the circel increases its movementspeed bonus, its hitbox and its dps. This can stack with shyvanna W
R: jump towards target area becoming a dragon and gaining size. Q: range + 100, autoattacks deal AoE in a 100 radius.
W: get resistances and more movementspeed, bigger hitbox
E: always leaves behind a circel, increased damage and slows enemies. Hitting an E in dragon form permanently gives shyvanna 5 AP

I think it's more a class rework they need, for the champs that used to build sated devourer.
She's been my main for 2 seasons after taking a hiatus for 6 seasons. I play AP nuke shyv and have a 70% win rate with her right now. Was just on the cusp of gold on Korean server when the season ended. The key is power farming and taking objectives the way you said in the video. I can pretty much sneak dragon the second it spawns nearly every game. People either don't expect that I can do it or don't expect me to do it so fast. Full clear, get 1k gold and buy recurve bow. The clear speed on dragon is nutty. The only thing that fucks it are tanky teams where my burst is less valuable but as long as I position well and got my CS I can kill a squishy with essentially 1 E bomb. In the video you said the ult damage isn't that important but I think that's wrong. The ult does around 1,000 damage. The play is to ult at the squishy (if they're isolated) and after they panic flash the initial burst you hit them with the e for the kill. And dropping the pool in the middle of a fight does a load of dot that people don't expect.

By some strange alignment in the stars, or cruel cosmic joke, I've been hard carrying with omnirune rushing stridebreaker. It's AD bruiser and you can literally build what you want after stridebreaker, and change your ability level order at any point in the game to fit your needs. Striderbreaker is so important because she's relies very heavily on hit and run tactics on anyone she cant run down. I have the boots rune, approaching velocity rune, and celerity rune to maximixe her movespeed increases. I also tend to build items like black cleaver and wit's end to give her even more movespeed every auto attack, and some tankiness.
I'm still running tests to see what matchups she struggles with but honestly the most trouble i've had was against sett, who I still dominated once I got a feel for him. Sometimes I focus on E to poke from afar, but sometimes I focus on Q for the on-hit and low cooldown for constant skirmishes. I'm not certain how useful omnirune actually is, but I do feel like the randomness is making my enemies confused on what to do to respond. Sometimes hail of blades pops up and I all-in with q's cooldown reset and W's new on-hit passive, where I had been very passive before, or sometimes predator will pop up and I'll run up for a quick combo, freak them out, and disengage to farm. It's very chaotic but very adaptable.
Right now the biggest issue i'm having is that I get so far ahead of my team that I get singled out with alot of cc or hunted down. Once the rest of the enemy team realizes how strong I am, they are never alone long enough to capitalize on. I end up dying as a result (Though lets be honest, thats more my fault for getting too cocky) It's annoying but it opens the enemy up for splitpushing alot because they are too afraid to be caught alone. It also takes pressure off my team, allowing them to farm and catch up.
I'm not trying to say she's OP or anything, I am only a silver scrub after all, but so far it does seem to be going pretty well. If it IS strong, and enough people like it, though, I want it to be brought to peoples attention. I fell in love with mordekaiser before his rework in a similar way, and regret ever wanting him changed, and I know people are bitter about aatrox getting reworked right after riot managed to get his old version in a good spot.
Please try this out, if it turns out to actually be good, I want riot to see this before they decide to rework her after Udyr.
It seems to me like everyone wants to focus really hard on 1 side of her kit or the other. It's a logical thought, but she really only functions the best when she can use her full kit. Her E can 1 shot, but she's useless without it, OR she can shred someone, but has no reliable cc or gapcloser. they feel like bad gimmicks rather than a full champion. But when she instead focuses on neither in particular, and instead adapts to her situation, the sum of her entire kit comes together to perform better than either of her individual builds.

What about a “Why does no one play Wukong”? I’m not sure if he’s actually unpopular exactly, but he has been consistently having a low pick rate with the only recent exception being his bruiser rework at around 2020, despite having a easy playstyle as a diver that would attract newer players due to his passive making him tanky as well as having a knock up Ult that goes twice. Besides he’s one of my most played champs but I am a bit curious.
I think the main reason champs like her arent played is because riot has little to no items for on hit ap items, especially ones that give sustain. I think if on-hit ap champs were given lower scaling AP numbers to prevent them from going burst while adding more items for on hit ap champs like adding an ap lifesteal item rather than just trying to rely on other sources of healing. These on hit ap champs have no sustain like most bruisers do making their use little to none as an actual on hit champ. They are probably trying something like this out with gwen where they just give her sustain in her kit, but I really like on hit ap champs like ap twitch & ezreal and imo could create more diversity for league in general.

Start blue full clear, go back buy boots,b. wand and control ward if they warded first drake dont start it just clear ward if enemy jungler is top then you can start if not DONT.You outscale everyone,if you are doing baron or drake elder ult than poke enemy team with youre e they cant sustain youre damage.Ban Graves or Udyr . Hope I see more Shyvana players !
The only viable build that makes u useful to your team is "Burning" Shyvana which is: Sunfire Aegis + Demonic Embrace (Core), Then depending on the team u can go on-hit object more tank or tanky ap items. For runes principal yellow with aattack speed(Insane damage mid to late game) and the red that heals. Unless u die a ton at the beginning hich is difficult by minute 20 u will be a tank that cannot be ignored or decimates the entire team
I feel like with how cheap void staff is, and how op lucidity boots are, doesn’t that sort of solve the issue with her ap build. Sure the early flat pen is good, but she’s not an early game champ anyways. I don’t play her much but she doesn’t seem terrible.
I haven't played League in a while, but I loved to main Shyvana because of her character, but even in her dragon form, she can die easily to any tank.

I feel like if they do end up reworking her, she should have a full hybrid build with her abilities. She should be able to play AD or AP without sacrificing one or the other. And make burnout feel more powerful in some way
To elaborate twin bite should deal what it's dealing now but it could change like adaptive damage to whatever she wants to play as.
If she plays ad her human side would be slightly more powerful and ap would make her dragon side stronger
I am probably the top 100 OTP Shyvana players in the game with over 2m PTS on her. The problem with her is that outdated R Knockback CC which is probably the worst CC in the game.
I totally agree with everything mentioned in the video and I agree that it's unfair for a Half-Dragon fighter kitted champion to be able to scale soo much on AP to be able to deal dmg like a Veigar R with just one ability.
On the other hand, I would still like her to be able to have a choice in building either AP or AD after the reworks but having the scaling more balanced and better mechanics.
What she lacks is not having the CC for early ganks. So maybe a slow on Q would be a viable mechanic in combination with W and E to be able to enter and run away from fights, and R to be changed from knockback to a knock-up. Her passive also needs to grant more benefits.

i do hope shyvana gets voted for the rework, conceptually, she seems like a character i would really like to play, but her visual design is kinda bleh and as you’ve explained, her kit is whack, but it would seem really likely that a rework would fix a lot of that
