Man that piece you played from 9:14 till 9:25 was really good!! Sounds so beautiful!! I listened it over and over again. That tone is is really awesome!! Thnx😊
I tried tonex software and absolutely hated it and gave up on plug ins … but I’ve been wanting a good tool to practice with headphones. I’ve owned a few tone king imperials so I tried the 14 day free trial and wow… absolutely BLOWN away. Have also been loving the Tom morello and Morgan suite
The joy you got when you tried the doubler feature was infectious. That’s the feeling that started it all for us guitar players Excellent plugin suite I’m a Princeton guy and that PR12 really exudes the sweet spirit of those amps

I've tried a few of the various Neural DSP Plugin's....and they all sound excellent....but a problem I've had with every single one of them (the one's I've tried, anyway)....is the noise under the signal....I mean...the gate works....but, they've had noise under the signal when playing that's still really obvious.... I'm not immediately blaming the plugin....it could be something with my setup....except that I also own numerous other amp sims.....Amplitube 5 Max, Guitar Rig, S-Gear, Otto Audio 1111 (which is SUPER high gain)....and I don't have that issue with any of them.... And when recording, it still sticks out like a sore thumb.....so, as much as I like how they sound, the noise issue has kept me from actually dropping any cash on them. I wish I knew if it was something with my setup....as I WOULD definitely buy a couple of these if I could resolve that one, major issue.
Did you try lowering the input level in the plugin? I find that I always set input level to something like -12 dB to get the same response as the real amp, it also helps with noise. Unfortunately, there is no standard way of converting guitar level signal to line level in your audio interface so every plugin is modeled to accept different level, every audio interface outputs at different level and you just have to experiment to make them match.
I notice you complaining that there is too much gain on a lot of presets. Neural DSP recommends that you plug into a Hi-Z input and turn the input gain all the way down to zero on your audio interface. Are you sure you followed these steps?
@@JohnZeeXsuper simplistic terms - TONEX is literally a copy of the amp, whereas AmpliTube is a digital creation to mimic said amp. Where it gets fun tho is using TONEX in AmpliTube - getting the TONEX models with AmpliTube effects. My view is TONEX amps generally feel more “wholesome”
@@natemoore6760 Not exactly... Both Tonex and Amplitube are digital so in the end, one isn't better than the other. • Tonex will copy an amp's sound as best as it can, but you won't be able to tweak any knobs to change the sound afterwards and you rely on other people to create the presets. • Amplitube simulates the behavior of the whole circuit of an amp, which allows for full control over the sound. However since the simulation isn't perfect, the knobs may need to be set slightly differently to where they would be on the real amp in order to reach a similar sound.
@@Nayah9indeed. This is the expanded view of my ‘super simplistic’ answer tho. One thing I’ll disagree with you on though is purely a matter of opinion - tonex > amplitube. Why? Because to my ears, it sounds better.
There was a synergy between your playing and the software-each of the different sounds brought different things out in your playing. Very cool.
Thanks Seth! Thats awesome, I’ll take it as a compliment!
I'm always interested to hear how much fret buzz players can tolerate in their setups. Nice video...enjoyed this.

Thank you so much!
I love this plugin. The PR12 is incredible.
Sounds cool, definitely interested in this one.
The free trial is a no-brainer

Thank you so much ☺️
1/2 price at the moment
Best bit at 6:52 😂. Another interesting, informative, entertaining and well produced video.. Golden Globe nominee.. good luck for the Oscars!
Pro tip. If you use a colon instead of the period, you'll get a hyperlink to that timestamp. 6:52
Cannot wait for this to be available on the Quad Cortex
I have it and love it
Your a great player Jack. i like Neural DSP plugins. I do use it live for a solo thing I do. Thanks for the review. New sub. T😎
Thanks and welcome!

is your input from your device set correctly for Neural? Zero with no gain
Nice
I notice you complaining that there is too much gain on a lot of presets.
Neural DSP recommends that you plug into a Hi-Z input and turn the input gain all the way down to zero on your audio interface.

Yeah that's how I always use plugins. Thanks for the info though mate!
@@JacksonBrooksby Okay good. I just had to make sure since your input level wasn't mentioned in your video. Thanks for confirming.
Joe built an AC20 that won't blow up on you! Way to go, Joe!
Hey, what’s the input gain setting on your UA Apollo Solo?
Set to minimum
Sounds are nice, but there is this tiny little small hair thin latency that I cant stand.. And I use usually 128ms or even 64ms buffer size
Are you able to use a buffer size of 32 or even 16 samples?
That feels really good for me
I think you may have had your headphones on in a way unintended by the manufacturer?❤
I would get the ToneX software - much better bang for the buck ....
Honest question here - Why would I want Tonex instead of Amplitube? I’m still confused on how the two differ.
Tonex is a modeller, Amplitube is a simulator. Very different things.@@JohnZeeX
