This is very helpful. I'm trying to learn as much as possible about MSC. I'm scheduled to take a 3 week class in a few weeks that will get me my basic training, personal safety, knots etc, and some RFPNW. At that point would you recommend building sea time with non-MSC companies and working towards Able Seaman? It looks like if I could earn that rating first I would be better off financially as I might recieve a hiring bonus? I appreciate any thoughts you have.
question. when i was in the navy my job was running ship store, laundry, barbershop, making orders and maintaining records. what job would fit me best in MSC? how fast can i move up the ranks in supply. during my career i did some LS work too. what do i need to do to be a yeoman storekeeper
Good Afternoon, I am in the process of completing my SIU Application for the ApprenticeShip Program and I would like to know the timeframe that it will take to become a Boat Pilot. I know at the moment It is based on seniority and therefore enrolling in the program and finishing it will allow one to be B-Book Seniority, and eventually through time climb to be A-Book. Where can I find more information about the high paying jobs offered at SIU ? Going through the application They asked about Career Interest and I am thinking of Deck. Since most likely that fits the end goal for me to eventually become a boat pilot. Very new just found your channel few days ago and very informative and thank you for all you have shared.
Good afternoon, @quantumlove9506! The timeframe to become a Boat Pilot can vary, but starting with the SIU Apprenticeship Program is a great step. You’ll progress from B-Book to A-Book seniority over time. For high-paying jobs, check SIU's official website and job postings. Deck is a solid choice for your career interest. Thanks for subscribing and glad you find the channel helpful!
Great content.
Thanks Scott 😊

Can you only go into the pool after you get off the ship, or can you try to go into the pool while you are almost off a ship.

Overdue pay has been updated from $25 to $34ish and $50 to about $68ish
Nice! Thanks for sharing
If one is a US citizen but chooses to live in another country, in his off time, can one still make it work with MSC?
Yes.
