Back in Japan, this place is known as the cheapest grocery store. It’s also the go to place to find Halal products in Japan. I’m glad they finally opened a store in Malaysia and the prices are also pretty reasonable for imported goods! Disclosure: they are NOT halal grocery store. But they do carry a variety of Japanese Halal products that you normally can’t find. They are popular among Muslims in Japan ☺️
I'm a Malaysian living in Japan. I just went to Gyomu Super yesterday and now this vid was recommended to me..lol..4:33 Anyway, the pickles in yellow are my favourite. Also, they have a wide variety of curry, pasta sauce which are tasty as well...in one of their branch, I have seen a few types of biscuits are actually made in Malaysia.
Oh thanks for sharing this info! Haha I’m glad the video reached you all the way in Japan. Right! I used to shop here too when I was in Japan. It’s nice to see them open a branch in Malaysia
Wow thank you for introducing Japanese grocer...as someone who first heard about Gyomu, this grocer feels more like a place where locals would shop for their day to day grocery..the selections are wide and economic..I think this would be perfect for long term Japanese residents in Malaysia especially small families who would prefer to cook their meal at home than eating out.. it's also a good selling point to include variety of halal products to tap Malaysian halal consumer market ....very nice video Arisa..I think you'll have happier time cooking at home with complete ingredients ☺️
Yes! You actually hit the spot… right I think with this grocer here, , many Japanese can finally afford better Japanese grocery here In Malaysia. Usually grocery stores would hike up Imported goods, so I’m glad Gyomu manage to keep their image like in Japan
Haha exactly! I was also surprised when I saw the prices in Don Quojite here too. I was like ehhh.... Totally different image like you said haha that's why when Gyomu came, I was in doubt too but surprisingly they manage to keep a reasonable price
I have shopped at the Tokyu supa near Shibuya crossing a long time ago and was surprised to see the way the shopping items are placed in a separate basket after paying, for the shoppers to self pack. Interesting to see Gyomu doing the same! If I remember correctly, this is what they do in Germany too - the German supa like Lidl and Aldi have a self packing section separate from the cashier. Love your video. お疲れ様‼︎
Right! It’s so much more efficient that way too! Don’t have to hold the line while you pack your stuff into bags. Back in Japan, many stores does that now A days but not in Malaysia yet

Same building as Sheraton PJ - so how is the parking fee?Just concerned that potential higher parking charges may offset any saving gains shopping at this supermarket. But thanks for introducing. I love Japanese food items so will definitely check this out.
