What a lovely couple! I'm from a Sino-Japanese family. My grandmother was Japanese and grandfather was Malaysian Chinese. In my generation, my brother and sister married Japanese and they and their families settled in Japan now. In our family, we often mix Japanese, Mandarin and English together when speaking. When celebrating festivals, we also mix Japanese, Chinese and Malaysian cultures in how we celebrate and in our foods. For example, I still remember my grandmother giving out red origami cranes to us as CNY red packets (you unfold the origami to get to the $$ inside). It was fun and different and my friends who visited our home during CNY back then always enjoyed getting those "crane red packets" as well as the variety of foods served in our home. Growing up, we naturally speak 3 languages at home and later 1 more (Malay) when we started school. Mix marriages and children growing up in a family of mixed marriages are blessed. All the best to you guys!
What strikes me most about both of you is your emotional maturity. Congrats on finding each other and may you be blessed always.
Yes that's the word! Thinking back, things could end up a lot different but controlling our emotions is the most important aspect that kept the relationship going! Thanks for that
Great point
I love the way you guys dip in and out of 日本語 and English so fluidly, so much fun.
I hope you guys can understand our weird language 😭
For Malaysian.. it is normal..😅
@@MalayPanTV no worries la, makcik hahaha. Have you already understood Malaysian? I mean, the language, the cultures
@@MalayPanTV😄😂
Great video. A suggestion: It's always a good idea for 'white' subtitles to have drop shadow. This will help greatly to make your subtitle legible and easier to read.
Thank you for the suggestions! Yeah I was wondering if this font and setting is easy to read or not. Really appreciate it! Will try to change it up for the next video
I love the choice of font type and font size. The white color is nice, just add the shadow or darker color font background box.
Great editing!
@@MalayPanTV A sans serif font like Helvetica Medium is the best choice for subtitles. (Highway sign boards use it for the simple reason that it is highly legible and can be read within seconds as vehicles zoom pass them.)
A dark grey drop shadow or outline around the font for videos will prevent the subtitles from merging into the changing, lighter background colors, ensuring 100% readability.
You guys make great content and are quite creative with your productions. Keep up your high quality (award-winning) work. Am confident MalayPan TV will achieve its first million subscribers pretty soon.
@@MalayPanTVdude. Always target for high colour contrast. It's for the sake of readability
Malaysian guy here, married to a Korean girl. She's 3 years older than me as well ahahaha. Oh, and our weddings were 1 month apart from yours (Aug 2022) and we skipped the gate crashing as well because you know, international/inter-racial wedding. Really enjoyed watching this vid.
Thank you for sharing your experience. And congratulations on the RUclips recognition!
Age is not an issue, you still look gorgeous.. Most important, both of you created a great relationship and living well. Keep it going! S'pore fans here!
No matter where you come , LOVE is always LOVE ❤
Just in time! I was browsing if you had this kind of video (I'm a new subscriber from the Philippines) and I love both your energy and content! Keep it up guys!
Hiii konnichiwa!!
Thanks to subscribe our channel and give us such a cheerful comment😍
such a cute video, made me felt warm all inside! keep up the great work guys!
Thank you!! I'm glad you find it interesting 🙏
My wife and I relate so much to both of you too, 家事のやり方とか、 a lot of code switching but now mostly only speaking Japanese now 😅. LDR 3 years but same time zone so it was a lot easier than your situation.
めっちゃ尊敬してますね。
Hope you guys keep making more videos to come!!!
お疲れ様でした。
Great video! All the best to both of you.
Great couple! Hope you and Joshua have children soon! It is a lot of work but it is very rewarding to grow old with children. In Chinese culture, we say "children are a product of love!" I have two adolescent kids with my wife. Your fan from NY!
Congratulations for youtube , wish you more success & further prosperity lovely couple , love from egypt 🥰
Hello!!! Thank you for coming over to our channel! We hope to make more fun and interesting contents in the future!
Thank you for being open to share your relationship story publicly! Also double subtitles...is that still very time consuming to do?
Wish you all the best in your marriage!
Ahahaha yes actually double subtitiles is very time consuming!!😂
Great Q&A video everything was interesting and nice edits!
Thank you so much!!!
Love your videos ! Please keep it up !! Can we have a life in Japan segment too ? :)
Hehe yes!!! Will do it one day as well! Waiting to bring Joshua back home
Congratulations for the success of RUclips and your happy marriage!!🤗💯
Thank you so much!!😍😍😍
Can u share about Joshua's journey in learning Japanese language
This was so fun! I've been in an LDR for 5 years now. So, the tips you shared are really relatable! Thank you for sharing your beautiful story. Really appreciate the subtitle as well. It is very helpful to someone who is studying Japanese like me. Agree with the other comment that the subtitles are a bit difficulty to read and it would certainly be helpful if shadow can be added to the alphabets. Great video nonetheless! 🎉❤😊
That emotional maturity. I'm sobbing
Thank you guys. So cute! So sweet!! God bless you both and best is yet to come 😎🤓👍🏾😘
Hey! I just saw your Dorra slimming ad! Congrats! XD
I'm loving your videos and Arisa's reactions to many things Malaysian gets me every time. I used to dream of either marrying someone from America or Japan but never got the chance so I'm living vicariously through your videos. Keep it up! ❤❤❤
You two are truly wonderful. I love watching all your videos and content. Even though I discovered you late, your videos make me very happy. I love both your way of speaking and the great harmony between you two.
I am from Turkey. I have been learning Japanese for 2 years and am doing my best for it. I just graduated recently, and I need to work very hard to achieve my dreams. Sometimes, I feel like giving up, but your story of how you met was very inspiring.
I hope you are always happy. I love you both so much. 💓💓💓💓💓
あなたたちをとても愛しています
Wow. Another thousand to go to achieve 300k subs. Congrats🎉🎉 love you all videos
I regularly watch your videos but it's my first time commenting here. The light hearted scenes that we see , I can tell the couple is going a long way. I wish you all the very best in future 🥰🥰
Awww hello!!! Thank you for always supporting our channel! We are so happy when we see comments like yours ♥️ we really appreciate your kind wishes and we will do our best to create wonderful videos for you all!
now that Joshua bro has mentioned a few ceremonies, Malaysian wedding sounds more diverse and fun 🤩
speaking of the proposal, Joshua… You are my inspiration brother 🙂↕️
Love all the questions, and your answers too!
For part 2, I would like to ask a few questions.
1. How did your partner change you for the better?
2. What traits did you pick up from each other?
Thanks & God bless ❤
Couples normally wouldn’t last through a long distance relationship and to survive a 5 years one is incredible. I guess theirs works not only merely by trust but also because they are sincere and loyal to their partner. Both of them are matured and kept a special place for their partner, such beautiful lovers 🥰
Thanks of an introduction to us in one go!
Really amazing, congratulations for the silver button
Thank you again for always supporting our channel! You are the few rare ones that followed us since the beginning
Congratulations to you both, wishing you guys many more years of happiness 🎉🎉🎉🥂🥂🥂🙏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼😊🇦🇺🦘🐨
Thank you so much for the wishes!!!!!
☺️👍😍
Great Video and Thanks for sharing your Love journey. Wish you both everlasting happiness.
Thank you!!!! ♥️♥️
I'm in LDR and I am so amazed how you guys dealed with the 5years without each others. I dont overthink that my boyfriend is cheating, but even with that, I don't feel connected to my boyfriend at all. So actually I feel like what is this relationship for if we feel totally okay without each other. I guess I'm not the one who can handle LDR
Love this video❤❤❤
Thank you both!
So dessune! Arisa is looking younger from her age, really i thought you both are about the same age. As for Joshua, he is a man and for Malaysian, they are always looks younger anyway. 😅😊 age is just numbers . Just be yourself. And i love both of you the way you are .
For YT videos, i am really grateful and really thankful for all your efforts. Besides you’re documenting your life journey, insights of life with us, you are inspiring positive energy to many people like me.🫶🏻❤️ terima kasih, arigato gozaimasu!
Congratulations 🥂 🎉for 200K!
Keep it up!! Love ya!!
I think the cool thing about an international relationship is, that you can learn each others culture and if you are willing, you can also learn the language of your partner. Which I personally think is very important cause this shows how seriously you are with your partner and the relatonship. In the end it also helps in terms of communication. Besides that learning a new language can also be a job boost for you.
“She’s a striking woman! I could only get so lucky 🍀😉”
The questions I had wanted to ask. have all been answered. Thanks to you both for making this video.
Sorry for not answering them for so long! We thought it's finally time our audience hear more about our story hehe
@@MalayPanTV The two of you aren't just soulmates, but are physically compatible too . A beautiful couple.😀😍
Handsome ♡ beautiful couple.. hopefully get children soon 😊
love this vid! joshua! can i ask where you got that jacket from? it kinda looks like a modern haori?
I came to watch your contents after Indopan youtuber Erikacang and Mikiya both following you on Instagram. Lately I like to learn from International couple and especially those going through LDR since I may have some trust issues with other if we're apart, Thanks for the LDR tips, you both are so adorable 😊
Thank you for watching our video!🥹🥰✨Our style may work on some people, may not work on some people...one of my best friends (Korean girl) who married with Japanese guy, they always have video call whenever they can and finished watching 60 episodes of very long Korean drama...to me I don't think I can do it😂😂😂So it really depends on the person!✨
Interesting and good to know your story😊👍🏻I agree with wedding preparation is a hard work, moreover taking care of family and friends who flew all the way to attend.
Yes wedding preparation was really really hard since we had to prepare all the stuff in 30 days...😂😂😂Thanks for watching our video and sympathize with our story😂✨🥰
I am gone through from LDR although both of me and my husband from Singapore. But our working hours are different, back then I was in KL. So that it's when year 2000, don't have so many high tech app suh as FaceTime. Continue be happy couple and blessed always..like yours Courage and Perseverance. LOVE you guys.
You two are the most compatible couple ever ❤❤❤
it is kind of rare for long distance relationship to workout, so good for you :)
Yes!! I think it's definitely not for everyone especially 5 years! Now that I look back, I wonder how we did it
@@MalayPanTV sugoi ne :)
I saw you guys at IOI on 8/6/24. Want to say hi but you guys are busy with something. Pretty couple❤
cutest couple ever 😍 sweet stories.
gentle and kind couple~😍
Thank you thank you ♥️♥️
Great video im new to your channel what beautiful wonderful couple many years of love and happiness ❤😊🎉
いつも仲良しで一緒に居て羨ましく思っていましたが、遠距離恋愛やコロナや大変でしたね!大好きなお二人のことを知れてとてもよい動画でした!これからも応援します!
Love this couple sm!
Hope to see you after 20 years to fulfill the happily ever after ❤❤❤
congrats to the both of you for the marriage and the RUclips and by the way in my country we have big and crowded weddings as well like 500-600 people is normal
Great video :)
😍
just curious, do usually couple in your country plan and schedule everything about the wedding by themselves, or you have help from friends and family?
You guys make a great couple. Keep it up! Kinda reminded me of my past. Had a LDR too with a Japanese lady. Though I can't really remember how we broke up already. Anyways all the best to you both. 😊
Thank you! You did it too? Well honestly it's not easy and I think most of the time people breakup as feeling fades away after being away for so long. It's not easy but we are very fortunate
@@MalayPanTV yes but that was more than 20 years ago. Looking up to the sky with fluffy clouds is a good antidote for LDR. Or just for reminiscing.
congrats to you all! love your channel and looking forward to part 2 ❤❤❤
Thank you so much for supporting our channel!!!!!
Hi, do you guys make a video of your wedding , really hope that we can have the opportunity to watch your wedding's video 😍😍😍
Nice video...
LDR is tough but doable
Language & culture can be the difficult aspect because of the nuances...
In Malaysia you can have 5+ languages being spoken around a table, and people will switch instantly, as a group or between individuals. Is unusal for a US or Japanese person to experiece such. Once in Japan I was at a restaurant meeting with a group of friends, and I was the only English US speaker. For some strange reason on that day everyone conversed in English...I had thought nothing of it...
When we left the staff asked us who we were, why are all Japanese speaking English? Had never seen it before, plus it was a very select & high end biz location.
It is how one learns quickly and makes friends!
Thank you for your tips about LDR relationship, both of you.
Thank you as well! Wasn't sure if it's a good tips or not 😅
Marry him
I noticed lots of Chinese Malaysian guys x Japanese girl couples recently. I think they are quite compatible. Chinese Malaysians are most similiar to Taiwanese, with the Hokkien dialect. they are basically Min Chinese, with laid back and relaxed personality.
The Microwave is the most versatile and therefore the best and fastest cook at home! (Nice detailed q&a)
Yes I do agreeee😆And thank you for watching our video😍🙏✨
Wow, I am much older than Arisa-san as I am born on 90's too 😂😂 love to see the dynamic of both of you and keep it up Arisa-san & Joshua-san 😊 For baby Arisa-san & Joshua-san got any preferences like prefer boy or girl or maybe either will do? 😊
Haha it's okay, we are all still young 😂 Thank you for the kind words! Well, we don't have a preference but I feel like Joshua wants a girl 🤭
With or without kids, you two are beautiful ❤❤❤
5years to put a ring on her?!?! Worth it! So happy for y'all!
Yes! Haha technically it was suppose to be shorter but covid hit and that itself was like 2 years 😂 but thank you
Could I ask how and why the 2 of you decided to live in Malaysia instead of Japan?
Was it hard for Arisa to move over to Japan? What considerations did you have at the time?
I am from Singapore and I have been seeing a Japanese girl but I am worried that she might not be able to ever move to Singapore as our immigration / employment pass policies seem strict and i worry it will be very hard for her to find a job since she is not as fluent in English as Arisa (we converse in mandarin)
Would love to hear your thoughts
Haha a 200k special eh😄😆
Yes! This is our 200k special! 100k was live, this time we do a Q&A haha
first 🎉
When I grow up ,, I wanna be like you guys !!!! 😃 p.s : your wife has a skilled hairdresser,,my compliments.. Actually come to think of it .., you both have nice hairstyles … Congratulations ☺️
You guys are so cute 😊
What video editing tool you guys use? I like it..
Thank you!! We used filmora mainly or capcut for our short videos
Great video. Do you guys do only RUclips as your profession, or is RUclips like a hobby?
It was actually a hobby but we just made it our full time in Jan 2024 😚
With a woman like Arisa, any parent would be proud for sure.
wow Arigato...🥰🥹😍
Congratulations ❤
LDR is actually a good test. Proximity is a big advantage. If both sides can overcome this disadvantage then this shows likely you guys are a good match
Yes!! I think it really trains your mind and heart also. Often times couple overthink things and they end up start unnecessary fights. But when you are doing LDR you really need to learn how to just let go and trsyr each other.
Interesting wedding Culture.. In my Malay Malaysian Wedding Culture, usually our wedding is really big, 1000++ invited people, 2 ceremony & we had 2 wedding for both Girl & Boy side..
Mine LDR last 4 years, and we broke up last Dec in Pattaya, guess finally after sometimes spent together let us realize our incompatibility.......
Arisa sis you should visit Bangladesh sometimes. We usually have minimum 600-700 people in wedding ceremony 🥳
Great couple!
👍😄👍
Thank you Thank you ♥️
Congratulations 🎉
great to know Joshua you doing good. Still miss the time can meet up with you in WMU recreation center and Sangren hall. maybe we not too closed but you will remember me if you see me because I am your senpai. hahahaha...
Hello!! It's been so long since I heard Sangren hall, really brings back memories 😂 who are you? I'm actually curious now - Joshua
I am Jeff,Malaysian. I am older batch than you all, but once in a while I join u guys with ur brother Isaac as well in MASA. And I know the botak Gan as well.😅 Currently I back Malaysia for vacation and will back United States in June 28
Love the video! Just a question for joshua, does he hace any advice on how to learn japanese/what was his methods of learning the language? Im planning on going to japan to work at some point, but am struggling to learn japanese 😅
Hello! Joshua here 👋
Actually, I took about a year of basic Japanese but honestly it didn't really help me much. I started picking up Japanese when I was with Arisa. The quickest way to learn is definitely to practice speaking, it's good to maybe find a Japanese community or friends. I'm sure you will pick up very fast when you are in Japan! Don't worry too much 😂
@MalayPanTV thanks for the advice 🙏 I really appreciate it!
Hi. Where can i watch they livestream video?
It's actually in the live stream tab. But it's 3 hours long video haha we will definitely do another one again
try to make a video of Joshua speaking Japanese and Arisa speaking Chinese/Malay
Oh that will be fun hahaha
Can u guys recommend some nice japanese restaurants in the KL area? Thanks
Yes! Our favorite so far is Sushi Suzuki in TRX. They focus more on freshness rather than those fancy display food and if you go during lunch, they have affordable lunch set there 😉
Thank you so much for this video! It's kinda helping for me. I'm currently dating japanese person and its kinda similar story like yours, we are both out of out countries and this helps me really a lot to understand what I should do and take in consideration to take this to the next level! Thank you so much!
I'm so glad to see this comment! So happy to hear that this video is helping someone out there. Yes, LDR is not easy especially when you are also dating a different ethnicity. There's so many things you need to take into consideration and the distance is not helping. Most importantly, just learn to not overthink and trust each other. You'll be fine
I have to say.. Arisa’s Japanese is as good as a native speaker…Very impressive..Also about age difference,,I am 43 and my gf who I dated for 2 years was the same age as I was and she was japanese,, and my current gf is also japanese and she was born in 1994.. we just started dating 2 days ago !! 😄😄😄😇😇😇😇 … anyway personally don’t care about the age difference as long as there is mutual love in the relationship
Omedetto🎉🎉
lets make it happen 😂🫶
I love this couple❤
Thank you🥹🥹🥹😍😍😍😍
What does Arisa do to stay so slim and I'm curious what does Joshua do for a living?
we are born in the same year, Arisa hehe
many couples cannot afford their LDR, but both of u can. hope your relationship will last forever
Oh hello 🙏 haha yes LDR isn't for everyone! I'm glad I met Joshua, things would have been very different if it's not him
@@MalayPanTV he's the kindest person I think. I have lots of Malaysian friends too. And ya, they're too kind for me even though there's also a lot of bad news between Malaysia and Indonesia, such as claiming Indonesian foods like rendang, etc. But after I asked many of my friends, they understood that it was Indonesian.
I hope that I can find someone like Joshua in the future. I'm not married yet.
Arisa-san, Im an ENFP too🥰
Congrats
Hi, your husband is Malaysian Chinese or Malay? 😬 I’m new to your video, your new subscriber. Love to see both of you, you looks charming ☺️
Hiii Anna-san Konnichiwa!😍Thanks to be our subscriber✨ So my husband Joshua is Malaysian Chinese, born and raised in Malaysia🇲🇾
Stop trolling. Do you mistaken a Korean guy for a Malay? what kind of question is that. The genes of Chinese, Korean, Japanese are most similiar and have lighter skin. You should compare Malays, Indonesians, Filipinos.
I am Malaysian and my girlfriend is an Israeli, at the moment we are long distance but we plan to meet in Singapore. Both our families are asking us to break up but we don't want to.
Wow may i know r u malaysian chinese? This is so tough because malaysian could not enter israel
Congrats 😃
Arisa, do u ever feel homesick after staying in malaysia for so long?
I thinks this is the first time I’m hearing Arisa speaking long English sentences and she is super fluent. 😮
Ahahaha really?😂😂I always speak to Joshua like this😂😂mix mix language🤣
