Hey Jeff, Just a quick note to let you know how much I appreciate your video lessons and how much I have learned from them. Love your style! Thanks again!
Beautifully done. Such simplicity of form belies a rather intimate touch of the materials you handle with such adept strokes. Thanks for sharing this unworldly charm you have with the media.
Beautifully done i just starting to draw again after 50 years I tried to draw a picture of freddie from Queen band in the early 70 and things are off .But after watching you so many things came back to me.I have like 1000 art works i have in my head thank you for inspiring me.😉
@@JeffHainesArt Thank you very much! Please, keep up the good work as my drawing has improve tremendously after watching some good artists such as yourself! I've picked art back up after five years of hiatus, but really, you guys have been helping so much, and it means a lot to me that this is free. I really can't afford paid stuff, so this is God send!
15 minutes? I am going to have to study this video. Thankfully RUclips will let me slow it down. I am going to learn how to do this. Good luck with your channel. Charcoal is so beautiful.
What a lovely drawing. Greatly admire your style and working method. I really like working in charcoal, and aspire to get a better grip on such an expressive way of drawing.
Love charcoal. I've only used it in my past very little but with very nice results. My one question is at the very beginning of this sketch you use an eraser to take away some of the darkness on the desert lids, or lip...at 115 seconds in.? Over all a very good clip of the delight in charcoal. Keep up the good work. Its inspiring !!!!
im practicing these kind of sketches daily either from your videos or sometimes i find my own references since two weeks, do you think practicing this daily will add on to my skills? i love doing this and also find it easy to do, so just bc i find it "easy" to do you think it's worth investing time in? im just kinda amused and doubting myself if im doing something "academically" worthy..?
It's all worth doing, especially if you love doing it. Of course you should keep stretching your skills by doing work that you find challenging, but quickly sketching faces every day is how you get really comfortable and confident with your portraits. Thanks for the comment!
hyperrealistic drawings that seems to be the exact copy of a photograph never fails to amaze me. It is a feat in itself. however, these types of interpretation of reality is more amazing for me because it's your own mark. it's your style and it's beaitiful.
@@JeffHainesArt omg. hahaahha i didnt know you would reply😆😅! Im also an artist (still kind at an intermediate level tho). Im currently practicing charcoal painting and I stumbled upon your art pieces and I was inspired especially when Im also currently in the search for my own style!
Your charcoal sketch has its own personality. It is soft and delicate.
Thanks for your comment! Much appreciated.
