My one critique is that, on TikTok, many of us who create original content have had to rely heavily on product shop programs to reach new audiences. I sincerely hope RUclips doesn't head in this direction. On TikTok, we often felt like robots, spending 90% of our time working with brands instead of being rewarded for our authentic, original content. It became more about driving traffic through branded content than pursuing our creative passions. Please don't adopt these same practices. Let RUclips continue to stand out with innovative ideas that aren’t solely focused on selling to viewers for traffic. That's exactly why we left TikTok-because RUclips gives us the freedom to create and express ourselves and be rewarded for that. hire my twin and I and we can do some of the visionary work. As someone from vine all the way from live me and musically to TikTok and now RUclips shorts we have ideas that doesn't solely rely on product shop for traffic. please lets find a balance for the sake of quality of life and passion.
Can you guys address the invalid traffic issue?? Seems a lot of creators randomly get hit with this, potentially lose a lot of revenue and YT doesn't really help them figure it out. No description of what is causing the issue, and it seems to be out of creators control. YT needs to be more transparent with issues like this.
This is so annoying. I worked so hard on my channel. All my own video. They emailed me said I lost it because of invalid traffic. Took me 5 years to grow to. I tried to challenge it. Smh they didn’t want to give it back. 😢
👆👆👆👆 This, please. Invalid Traffic bug is terrifying. How can a creator like @RobertoBlake be hit by it? The silence on this issue is a little deafening. Why does RUclips even serve ads on *our own videos*? The advice is "don't click on them". Why are they even served please?
I feel that if the channel has not been monetized, ads should not run on those videos, doesn’t sound fair. I have been working hard and I understand why the requirements are there, that just doesn’t feel fair to me. I have seen ads on my videos and I have never earned anything. Thanks for the explainers tho, greatly appreciated.
Whilst I understand your point, I think you are missing something. Would you be happy paying for the bandwidth, transcoding compute, and the disk space that your videos take up, until your channel is monetised?
that is true. they put ads on it. is because they know its a ad friendly content. it feels right you should have that sharing revenue. for them to put ads on your channel. it shows you are not bad actors. but what can you do. this is their playground. we play by their rules. we can use it for free at least.
I like most of RUclips's creator program, BUT one issue is the "you must publish at least once every 6 months or your channel is demonitized." That was detrimental to creators that do long payback content like DIY, science, etc. where ROI does not happen for 5, 7, or 10 years. Also, it pits "live" channels against "dead" channels that are still being shown with ads.
RUclips PLEASE address the invalid traffic / limited ad's notifications. Have been a creator since 2007 and these notifications are really out of control.
Love this! Thank you! One thing I can think of, it’s amazing that we can tell the system where we feel an ad would fit, I think creators should also have an option that’s like, “no ads in this area” Example, if I have a 15 minute video but there is this 3 minute part in the video that is VERY important, maybe, I want it to be impossible for an ad to appear in those 3 minutes as I don’t want anything to distract the viewer from that most important segment
👉 The 70% - 30% for memberships is not actually true, because a large portion is taken before it reaches creators. For example Apple takes a 30% cut if memberships are acquired on Apple devices. Also exchange rates eat up a portion of the income as well (around 10%) so by the time it reaches creators, there is not much left for the creators or the taxman.
It's 70/30 of the Profit not the income. It's basic business knowledge. All the cuts that are taken before the profits is cost. Would you rather get a bill from Apple and everyone else who gets their cut? And then get sued if you don't pay them?
@@ROVideos No, on the RUclips support pages it explicitly states that all transaction fees are covered by RUclips's portion of the membership fee so that creators actually get 70% of membership fees, not 70% of the profit. So the RUclips support pages are misleading. Please read the RUclips support pages and let me know what you think.
@@RadCameraMan you made a specific example of people paying through Apple. That's apples taking their cut of any transaction thar comes through their platform. There have been lawsuits about thar (epic vs Apple) and many more. If you purchase through a computer and not an iPhone is that 30% deducted? No. The Apple cut is not a fee, they're taking about transaction fees and and stuff not about Apple being greedy.

Not to mention that they lost the lawsuit eleven to one and that one was allowing other payment systems, not removing the walled garden or reducing the fee.
You had an interesting guest, it's a pity there were no questions about the algorithm. This is a constant problem for creators. Especially at the initial stage. Imagine a creator who creates a video for 7 days and gets 20 views. After a few days, the same creator does something "lightly" for 20 minutes and gets 15,000 views - because the YT view support system has been launched. How to explain this? I absolutely agree on that! We spend a lot of time and work creating our content, and then, the algorithm just doesn’t care. Having a hard time to get impressions.
Hey youtube creator team, One of my recent longform videos was doing really well and the all of the sudden it was like someone turned my video off from the algorithm. It’s frustrating because it was obviously being seeked out and then it just stopped and not one additional view showed up. Never seen that.
That happens to me on all my videos. They put you out there for a couple of days, then just stop. Check your reach button in the analytics to see how many impressions they give you. Do you think you'll ever make it easier for creators that are already in the YPP to get their other channels monetized? I have been in the YPP for a long time now but have some smaller channels that aren't monetized and I tend to ignore these because I get paid on my main channel, even though I would really like to grow the other channels. I think creators in good standing should be able to monetize easier when they make another channel in a different niche as long as they are in good standing.
They are too busy demonetizing videos from long term established creators. Been a core creator since 2007, never seen it so bad, all fell apart post 2014

Lowering requirements for early monetisation was a good move, they were to extend that for all kinds of partnership/monetisation could also go very well
18:30 I propose creating a video series playlist to enhance our understanding of the community guidelines. Each episode would be just two minutes long, focusing on key points from each section. This way, we can break down the guidelines into easily digestible segments that are both informative and engaging.
15:50 I get a feeling that making a video with limited ads, won't affect just that video but in the back-end it will affect my channel standing with youtube. Remember the "channel family friendly trust ranking" that leaked years ago? Basically every channel had a hidden trust score, the higher it was the more likely your channel was to be recommended. Can you make that score visible?
Why are there double standards for different channels? BBC and National Geographic have animals and birds mating in the wild and it's monetized.... BUT when I upload peacocks mating it's DEMONETIZED... Small channels get demonetized while big channels can upload whatever they want.
I would love to hear RUclips Premium payment explained. On all of our videos/shorts a RUclips premium view pays just over half of what a regular view does. I've seen this consistent with other creators too. It feels like Premium is being advertised as another way to help support creators when in reality (at least for our channel), it is not and we'd rather have non-Premium viewers. Because of that I don't recommend Premium to anyone. Is there any way to shed light on how Premium payment works and why we see less? Is it potentially because of RUclips music streams that need a cut too? Thanks!
Honestly, I think that’s why Premium isn’t pushed too hard. RUclips likely makes more money from the average user watching ads. I’d guess that the only reason they offer it is to give an alternative to Adblock, so they don’t lose out fully on a viewer who doesn’t want ads at all.
There are creators who for years have had thousands of views on some videos but their sub counts do not even qualify for ypp 500 or 1k. Some have more views than those in YPP.
Here is a crazy idea, allow small creators to earn their part from your ad revenue even when they have under 1k subscribers. They still get the views, you still show ads on their videos and you take 100% for yourself. How is it fair? Why they need this 1k subscribers? How about chill on the greed a bit?
6:37 About the requirement to apply for YPP. i always hated the new rules in 2018. which was 1k subscribers and 4k hours within 12 months. i felt very rejected by youtube doing nothing wrong at the time. And the only reason was bad actors. I dont think creators should be based on their numbers. RUclips could have set a rule that was possible for most creator to work towards, regardless of how many subscribers they have. Since there is a strict manual review anyways. If the rule was only 4k lifetime watch hours. I think many creators will keep at it. because they wont feel anything is taken away from them within time. 15:07 some creator purpose is making money on the platform. since youtube would place ads on channel who are not in YPP. why can't they not a have a share of revenue? you put ads on it because you know its ads friendly right? But overall i do respect the youtube playground. it does need to be safe. But upon keeping the ecosystem safe. i feel there are still nicer options that can be put in place.
Exactly! The pay is based on views anyway so why not let everyone join the YPP from day one? If they don't get many views they don't get much money. What wrong with that. All these limits and restrictions need to go away. There are other platforms that will let you monetize you content from day one.. Content creators would put more into it if we could make (more) money for our efforts. At least enough for the channel to pay for itself. This RUclips thing or content creation thing is not cheap.
RUclips needs to implement a pre-screening of the youtube channel for monetization at the Halfway mark a submission to be reviewed without penalty. People spend so much time trying to get monetized just to be told no and have to wait months to reapply. Had they been given a warning ahead they could made the changes instead they are punished for trying. SMH

That was my favorite & the epic one also, "I upload the video, you download the money"
Just tell everyone that you need to pay google ads for impressions/ views
I'm So grateful and thankful to RUclips 🥰. Thank you YT!
Hi, I’m new to RUclips, and I’m realizing that creating content and having many people enjoy what you do feels amazing.
It’s also amazing that they take 30% of ur revenue and 45% of ur tips.
I agree and why exactly is RUclips Premium so dang expensive? I just renewed mine and it was $158 for one year. That is way too much in my opinion.
I'm so aprreciate what that youtube have done and created to make youtubers in the world can increase their cannels.
Ah the man responsible for maintaining huge swaths of small channels just below the monetization threshold.
They should open school for this.... so many stuff they dont open up / transparent
on limited content i still dont have specific moments or reason why its limited, is that not rolled out for everyone yet?
There are creators who for years have had thousands of views on some videos but their sub counts do not even qualify for ypp 500 or 1k. Some have more views than those in YPP.
Here is a crazy idea, allow small creators to earn their part from your ad revenue even when they have under 1k subscribers. They still get the views, you still show ads on their videos and you take 100% for yourself. How is it fair? Why they need this 1k subscribers? How about chill on the greed a bit?
just dont be like other platforms please
If you get demonetized for whatever reason, you'll be blacklisted. Never to be monetized again..
NOT TRUE, happened to me twice, but I will admit I think they are now focused on Smaller Channels
@@cuzzintruck2 Huh! Focused on smaller channels for what?
I love watch these video now. Its helps alot.
19:00 "Brand unsafe" = woke
Much needed clarity for youtubers!
SMH
Did that Liason guy still brown nosing up the rear end of TK, or did he already get out. Serious, it is painful listening to that person...
Creator Insider.. No offense but please tell the TK guy to stop saying things like yeah yeah while Rene is talking. Be quite until he get finished talking please. That is so distracting to listen to.
I've been completed subscribers and watch hours requirement but still not getting monetized, the reason always was not following monetization policies. My videos are more on personal blogging like any other creator but still unlucky to be monetized.
My new favorite channel! This was pushed to me from Recommended on my Smart TV! 👍😎
Thnks 🎉🎉youtube team
Been on the platform for 17 years and I haven’t been able to get monetized. Maybe it time to give up.
Don't give up know the reason why your not able to monetize use your experience to start or modify again. Keep going 💪
Sir, I got monetized by doing biographies of celebrities in Bengali some days; now, I make great videos differently than other biography makers. After that, do I ask any RUclips creators what's wrong with my videos or where I can improve them?
Hi.. Could you please take some steps for videos to reach the actual demographic audience...
There are people on RUclips who do not know English and the translator does not have the facility of their national language. For example, Urdu is spoken and understood in Pakistan, so the facility of Pakistani Urdu is not available to me.
When will Super Chat and Channel Membership be available to Creators in Jamaica and other Caribbean Countries?
Highly appreciate as I have got a lot of answers.
I am so grateful for RUclips and my subscribers.
Make Shorts watch time count!
Thanks you guys for giving us this kind of opportunity ❤
Is it possible to change your personal email youtube account to another email(business)?
bring some update for creator unable to use reused content and audio this will be good and safe or atlest give alert where about used content becoz all small creator they don't know and even big creator too that's sometime goes unknowingly as accidently happen if channel is on ytp and yt suspend the ytp this make disappointed also people edit from other software their video and added background music if is that case ytp goes of no good thats policy i hate. i hope please improve easy ytp policy and to get more view thats all thank you
I was 30 watch hours away from getting monetized, and all of a sudden my watch hours dropped like a rock. It was so discouraging!
any chance of direct messaging when communities come online ...
Seems like every since I hit 100k Subs my channel views have dropped. Me and other Car content creators can go to the same show, get similar shots, and my views are half of what their views are. You would think since I have 3 times the amount of Subs, I would get more views, and that's just not true. Seems like the algorithm favors smaller channels right now.
I love being a yt partner it changed my life and helped me get off fent and H. (over 100 ods) Now I've been clean and never have done so well financially since I started a yt channel. I love yt all the way around. Thanks yt
Any1 STRUGGLING, be different
Great testimony. Fr
i find it realy had to keep up with the analytics on my channel..on the page were you have the watch time hours, it does nott update for a week so am running my channel on old data..and i have been putting up videos some over a hour that are getting watched but my hours seem to go backwards as i get near 4000. i put up 4 videos up wile i was on 3899 and its now gone backwards to
3,758 ??...How. That was same time frame i put up 5 video's some nearly a hour long and two new one's over a hour..
Great info 😊
Could RUclips implement deleting non-active (for example, for one year) subscribers for creators? This feature would be of high demand!
This feature already exists
@@anunotebook No, it does not - creators cannot delete non-active subscribers and have no their full list. Users are deleted only by RUclips whether they'are someone's subs or not.
@@youtuberXXI we can't delete but RUclips does that, some time back I lost few subscribers I checked in analytics page there i found.
@@anunotebook 1. RUclips deletes on its own criteria once per year or two and announces it - in cases they do not appear on RUclips at all or are bots.
2. But I addressed on another issue : there are active RUclips users who subscribed your channel due to different reasons- mostly liked only 1 popular video. But then they do not watch others and pessimise your other vids performance -don't click from reccomendations to watch. You probably noticed channels with 100k sub and 5-10k views each video. And you make many efforts to create each new video... It is nonsense that the only option in this case is to open new channel...
YOU guys make mistakes ALOT! When we try to show you proof. You guys ALWAYS respond by agreeing with the so called "manual reviewer" without providing ANY evidence of the offense. SMH. I showed your online support personelle proof of fox news giving me permission to used content and they STILL denied my appeal. What else can we do when YOU get it wrong?
i be getting a bunch of views little pay something got to change on youtube!
Great stuff, thanks guys!
Great discussion! Thank you guys! 🎉🎉🎉
Missed a key step there with the money thing lol - EDIT: Nvm went over it later on.
1 good month in RUclips Partner Program can really change your life. You don’t even need to pay for the video you uploaded crazy
Thanks for this amazing opportunity ❤
any chance you could fix the fact that my channel is auto denied for “violations of the monetisation policies” every time?
+1
Please lower the watch time hours needed for memberships
Yes😢
can some one uploud his video 2 times
👍
Solid video!❤
Loved this session.
I wish one day i can double my income with my yt workout chanel! :)
As a creator about to get monetized may I suggest better educational tools. I spend a day making the perfect thumbnail for a short and then couldn't add it 😢 that's rough... Tired and hungry after 16 hour day shooting and creating and then heartbreak because I can't appeal to a broader audience is ruff ruff 😅
I'm not tech savvy. I'm heavy creative but tech lite. I just have to push myself. Push through and improve in ALL areas. Thanks for the platform and the opportunity to be my best 👌 👍 🎉😅❤
Transparency is key. Thank you!
Great discussion! Thank you guys!
This was really great, thanks for all the knowledge and tips 🙏
Thank you TK, Rene and the Creator Insider team for this deep dive into YPP, it's really helpful and appreciated. Stay sharp, have a great day and level up!
