Good choice my 450r has similar SS wheels and there great just watch for any rocks or curb rash . One of your other viewers mentioned you should paint the frame I totally agree with him the quad has come along way. Give it that finishing touch 👌
You should to do a first gear roll on race between the two quads . I really want to see how many bike lengths are between the two . Also I think you should build a banshee motor to make 50 horse power and then have it dynoed. You probably won’t even need to touch the bottom end . Probably just bore it and high compression pistons and huge jets and race fuel . I don’t think the parts are that expensive . But that would be bad ass .
Looks mint Man U should go one tooth smaller on the front sprocket and 2 teeth bigger on rear u should be able to hold better wheelies with that set up cause by the looks of things this quad has great top end power
There is a sweet spot in how much slime you add I worked at a landfill for years those tires all had over 50 screws and nails in them and didn't shake even on the asphalt around it
Get a graphics kit for it Edit: also get some pro taper fatbars it will look super good, it would be the first mod I would do to a quad other than a full fmf exhaust system, my dad used to have a 400ex with a full fmf and it was fast

Don't forget to torque the bolts down. I'd suggest getting rid of those crash bars because if your feet slip off of the pegs they will be pinned under the rear wheel. Snapping some bones. By the way the old rims are worthless if somebody orders them out of state, shipping them would cost more than the actual value.
Also not a fan of the wide track width in the rear, narrow in the front. Wheel spacers in the front would work. Shorter tires change the gear ratio too. Quicker acceleration, less top speed. Perfect for wheelies.
The rattling you here maybe balancing BB's sometimes when people have an off-balance situation they put special BB's in that are supposed to under high acceleration spread out and balance the low spots
Its a dam shame they don't make this machine anymore what's up with Honda they haven't come out with anything in a long time. Nice wheels and rims man and a killer deal the 400ex is worthy machine to put them on very nice.
Wow you’ve got an amazing deal on those rims and tires they look sweet on the 400ex !! But you’ve got to at least try them out on the 450 R and see if it rides better it will change it because of smaller tire .
Needs a head pipe & some better nerf bars with heel guards, and a front bumper. Also those ambush spider trax are $60 each on amazon, i have had 2 sets & there kinda soft, not good for road or rocks,

Cool wheels! BTW a low tire pressure guage reads 0 to 20 psi.with 1 psi increases. Peace!
Your pulling forward on the handle bars while wheeling lean back and you will go longer always remember back break nice tires btw

That thing is lookin good buddy! I had an '04 yellow one and it didnt look no where near as good as yours. That thing was fun though. Keep it up!

Yes it is. The other bolt that holds it on snapped off in the frame by the previous owner. I'm going to try and drill it out and replace the bolt.

It looks sick I would put the tape on the front headlights which is a cheap mod and it’s going to make it look aggressive

Miss my honda it burned oil like a 2 stroke but it never failed on me ever while my buddies quads all had issues and they were newer then my quad.

That back rim the tinging sound when you shook it around was not slime those are little Marble size weights to balance bent rims.
You should do next is get extended a arm's and rear and than new plastic for front. Thing would look so sick. Maybe paint it too

Try kneeling your left knee on the seat and have your right foot on the back brake when you wheelie, it might be easier to hold it longer
