Hey I have a 2009 ltz 400 the first year of efi. Really woke those machines up and it brung a whole new meaning to 400’s. I definitely recommend getting and trying one. 400ex’s with a 416 big bore or a 440 big bore I hear get a lot of power and mike sabo made a 416 with a pipe and hot cams and was a very nice clean build. I recommend doing a build like that because the smaller the big bore the better that reliability will be.

When you are doing wheels just know your back brake is your best friend 💯‼️

When you get more comfortable with wheelies, try shifting to the e next gear or feather the back brake to keep rpms down to stay up but 2nd gear would not wind out as quick. Wear some gear in case you fall off the back again.
Once the bike gets to exactly 23:39 you want to switch into the next gear and be smooth on the throttle it will put you on balance point so be ready to click the rear brake . REMEMBER REAR BRAKE CONTROL IS KEY TO VERY LONG WHEELIES

The squeak is the a arm bushings. You need to take them off and clean the old grease out of them and put some new grease in before they go out.
Here in California, the trend is mini bikes. People seem to think they can get 800 or 900 for a cheap mini bike with a lawnmower motor. You can’t even get a roller for less than 300. It’s ridiculous.
and any type of full size bike, whether its from 1999 or 2010, there all 3000 or more, and blown up bikes are like 2000, absolutely bonkers

by far the easiest bike to wheelie, i started on a ytm 200 3 wheeler and went right to the 400, love mine.

While on power not free rev just while accelerating in second gear with 1 finger just do a small clutch slip and goes right up and dont jerk the throttle try to stay smooth. You will feel the balance point and be able to stay on it and shift gears. I find it gets easier when you get up to 4th gear on mon dr650. Easier to stay on the balance point but crash harder
i could never go slow and feather the throttle during wheelies , the 400ex hands down has the best balancing point, for me, I had to keep it full throttle and keep shifting through the gears, could go for ever in 5th down the road and start in first too, no need to pop the clutch on they old 400 ex pop her up and keep it going full tilt. mine was stock either then slip on exhaust and air filter and could easily stand it up till 3rd gear much like your videos, you know know how to ride man

I have a 400ex always debate on selling and getting a 450 watching you ride your 400 makes me always want to keep it
Put a set of extended a arms when you do the shocks
Joe is all throttle control and brake rear brake I got a 250R ATC 3-wheeler I can ride a wheelie a mile or two I want
Get to second gear and u will see ur wheelies really improve. I’m no wheelie master but on my 300ex I’d get going, switch to second. Pull in my clutch, rev it a bit and dump it. I’d did great. The 400ex may require far less clutch slipping. Just get ur rpm semi high and pull when u punch it. Second gear is a lot taller so it doesn’t rev out like first gear. Just how I learned, loved it🤷♂️
Next time you need battery order the wieze ones they sell on Amazon or eBay there cheap but I've had mine 2 years and it's still working and it was 24$ 😂
Ride a 400 ex at glamis after the top end blew on the yz250 10 minutes into the ride. Super fun quad I would love to buy one
The old mans got one that’s been basically garaged it’s whole life all stock from 99 originally owner picked up from our local dealership still a unit and only has a added twist throttle cause we all ride bikes but 3000 for it would be crazy and it’s the mint style you’d want low hours and ready
Get to your balance point and use your back break to help and remember you have a peppy second gear that will keep you up to brother happy riding
I had a 99 then I put a 440 kit and cam etc in it. It was fast but not as fast as the 450r I bought in 04. I then put a 520 kit cam etc in it too. The 450 was faster than the EX while stock and the EX was heavily modified. But I always wanted more.
You definitely need to do a top speed test on this one, and maybe a couple races 😉

I bet you could have some fun with one of the drones that follows behind you and can be programmed to circle above while recording video of your rides. Have you ever tried taking a trip across the country using the power line access trails? Hard as Hell to get permission anymore, but not impossible and that would make a pretty cool series of videos. Better with a group. Looks like you found your balance point pretty quick even if your right thumb insisted you go past it a couple times lol. Had a lot of fun watching and wish I was riding with you.

A good way to get it up in a wheelie with any bike is to hit the front brake first and then hit the throttle and pull back and use your back brake for when you going to go over backwards
When u wheelie u need to stay at plus or minus 75% gas instead of fluttering it. Keeping it one gas position will help you find it’s balance points instead of going up and down over and over!
You should do a video on a klx 140 or something like that!

Front suspension will improve if you LOWER your air in the tires. I would say run 6psi Front and 5psi rear. If your front tires are over inflated you will get a Rougher ride for sure.
Go 416 big bore stage 2 cam. Just as reliable as stock bore, and makes a difference in power. Get a header pipe for your slip on and re jet it.
Cheaper to buy new quads or bikes now if you can find them that’s why the used ones are high right now the dealerships are saying next year before any will be made
You must have battery Nazis in Wisconsin because I’ve never payed more than $50 for a battery, especially one that small.
Next time you go out and practice wheelies try not to be so choppy with the throttle. 2nd gear nice and smooth with the throttle.🔥

I love my xr 250r on my channel too same engine air cooled and bomb proof but of a trick to start it but I got it now and she can go all day and I’ve started building confidence and popping front end up off clutch and power alone now where as I’d do it off tree stumps and I’m getting air time now perfect bike for what I like 👍
I forgot you had Ambushes on the back. That's exactly what I have on my 440ex. Best bang for the buck...Love them! Also I to have been thinking about 450r front shocks. Stock really does suck.
Yeah I like the ambush tires. Stock shocks need to go!
Tip for when you are wheeling you can always shit without a clutch ik it’s prolly not the best but when you get high rpms don’t let off gas just shift up

You should start ordering batteries off ebay I buy the 22 dollar ones they fit perfectly and work great and you can get 5 for the price one at a parts store

When you’re up in a wheelie try to hit the balance point and shift gears u don’t need to use the clutch also keep ur foot on the rear break I enjoy the 400ex vids I have a 300ex
You needa push that rear brake after i learned mine I haven't gone over backwards I just push the brake

There's 15 20 dollar batterys on eBay and Amazon work really well I have two on my motorized bike to equal 24v at my lights
Pop a wheelie by using the clutch(i ride enduro, no ATV’s but i things ATV ise easier due to the lack of side balance) just when using clutch, you need to pop it righ about where you fell off, and then control on with the brake, so a actual wheelie is when you can decrease the speed, thats more of power wheelie, dont get me wrong i aint hating! Just use the clutch, its more stable getting it righ up, than playing up and down..
Use that rear brake brother and you’ll ride those wheelies as long as you want. Practice practice. Great vid.

Back in 2010 I bought a brand new raptor 350 for 3200 dollars at are local Yamaha dealer it was a left over from the year before so I no that wasn't full price but dam I've seen a few 09 and 2010 for sale for 3500 4000 and they look beat as they should it couldn't hang with the 400 ex was fun though
i also had one that was bored and it was a 426
Shoot I bought my 400 for 300 bucks and got it running things a beast
When you wheelie get a higher angle and practice tapping that foot break you can go like 1mph and stay up. A good 85° angle

Nice bike man sounds good lil pointer on wheeling try only blipping the throttle to get it up to the balance point then holding steady throttle just enough to keep it there once it’s there try getting used to the balance and count on that to keep it up rather than your throttle input don’t worry about how fast your going get used to it in 2nd even 1st just to feel out the balance point try putting you nee on the seat too just to find that sweet spot and get used to it then sit down and go from there
Try leaning back your body with the quad it helps keep it up a lot more atleast it does for me when I'm riding a friend's quad air my dbike

Honestly I will never buy another battery for any of my bikes. Those batteries last for ever. Last one on my V-Star 1100 last 3 years. Never trickel charger either.

easier to put ur left foot on the grab bar & right foot on the brake & stand up u have more balance on a 4 wheeler plus if u go past balance point u will land on ur feet instead of ur back lol
