My wife's father had an old Suzuki 250 like that. He bought it new back in the day and the only reason we don't have it now is that it was destroyed in a house fire a few years ago. Great machine that would go through anything.

I built an 03 with a port and polished head, trx450 carb with dyno jet stage 3 jet kit, k&N race filter in aluminum box with relocated battery to box, trx450 front suspension, hot-cams stage 3 cam, kibblewhite complete top end, 440 big bore kit with wiseco piston, oem rebuilt bottom end, complete big gun EVO-R exhaust from header back, Hinson race clutch and clutch basket, yfz450 complete front brake conversion, 39 tooth rear sprocket... damn was she fun.
You don't need to hit the break when shifting the Suzuki it's semi auto lol

On the quad runner you have to put it in super low it put the 4x4 in diff lock just a heads up so you don't think its broken or anything, you can do a mod so you can have it in diff lock in any range too.
Dude the 250 quad runner is very sick. Is looks to be in awesome shape, thats a keeper for the fleet.There hard to come by in good shape , there usally beat to nothing

Idle sounds high and either got a valve noise or the super common loose timing chain unless I’m hearing something loose rattle

Sounds like you have some off idle stumble and some breakup at high rpms when you went down the street. May need to clean carb or check jetting.

You can if ya search a lot of sights every day I've seen some pretty good deals lately to bad I'm broke right now lol That is a good deal I agree He didn't have to put a fortune in it and it runs great slap a seat cover on it and it would look pretty dang good for 650 ✌️
Picked up a 2001 400ex for 500 bucks. Had an oil leak and flat tire. Fixed both of those and it runs amazing.
You actually can get one for 650 brand new on one of those sites

400ex is a perfect trial/play bike. Not a 450R nor will it ever be but great all around bike!
Cool little quad I had a Suzuki 250 just like that about a 97-96 It was awesome It would go where bigger ones couldn't through tight trails I could leave bigger quads I liked that you could take it out of 4 wheel and drift through corners and do donuts very easy Wish I wouldn't have sold it now 😭😭😭

Did u grease the stem bearing? They only come with packing grease. Not enough at all

@@tylerlark5634 if u like changing bearings all the time sure. Screw grease. I grease,antiseize, lock tight every bolt, nut, or bearing etc. Then i use a torque wrench. But hey. I don't cut corners. . Screw masks no fear no mask.

Are you sure that quad runner is clutch driven or is it your back brake? Never seen a clutched 4x4
Not a clutch. It is rear brake

400ex are wheelie machines, still baffled why these guys can’t wheelie or drag race?! However love the videos. FYI dude shift without the clutch on back wheels to help you shift while wheeling

Don’t check the oil with the dip stick screwed in. You just place it in to check not actually screw it down

Couldn't be ring gap because the rings actually slowly rotate while engine runs. Ring gaps mainly need lining up for initial first start
You should get a Honda trx300ex to learn wheelies they are good wheelie quad that’s how I learned to do sitting wheelies
Get some bar riser if you want the bars a bit higher
The suzuki 250 is a semi automatic just shift the gears up or down the lever your pulling should be the back break
kickstart boots pedal it is fun good luck to go

if it’s not the piston rings then it could be a newer pipe because they smoke a lot when you throw one on. My 400ex did the same thing but my rings are fine and doesn’t smoke anymore but it’s probably the rings

Lock the diff and remove the pin that stops it @ 29mph or whenever the governor kicks in on diff lock so you have 2 wheel peel in the back as fast as you want it
Runs good but seriously have got to get the smoking issue fixed and the oil leak. The second gear id fix that as well since it has the hot cams setup. I mean why not?!! Might as well right?!!
Put those red front plastics on your nice 400ex. Make it look alot better. And put the cut ones on the other red one
7:46 dump that handle bar and get yourself a snap on or Mac breaker bar for how much you use it
Check the carrier bearings
Try some evaporust that stuff work wonders!

I use 20-50 mineral oil in my dr750 because it drinks the 10-40 full synthetic like it's nothing
You should check out John Kara glann innovations chain guard and slides, awesome accessories for quads

Why wouldn't you remove the heat guard off the pipe if you're trying to clean it, it's just in the way🤷🏻

every time we looked at quads or bikes that did not run seller always said just needs carb cleaned glad to see that's the truth for once

I'm not sure about oven cleaner but toilet bowl cleaner the one with around 10% hydrochloric acid in it does wonders scrub it with steel wool a few times stuff great

New bars look identical to the ones you took off? I thought you wanted taller bars. Also you don’t screw in the dip stick. Does the Suzuki have clutch? Thought they had centrifical clutches? You giggled like a girl with the dog 😅. Good video though.
Yeah I thought they were taller bars when I bought them. But I actually don't mind them. And yeah the dog is fun lol

I have a stage 3 hot cam and she lopes nice and good my values just needs to be adjusted because it say for it years and she still run like a bat out of hell
