I can't belive these 2 Canadian Legends are being ignored by the people of youtube...That story by Ian about Woofers & Tweeters doesn't have a million views just for that...Hoping these guys get recognition soon!!
Mike Weir; COMPLETELY AGREED!!!!! Ian Thomas is the equivalent of Frank Sinatra RE: his impact w/in entertainment (especially the music industry). Also; Ian Thomas is also on par w/Bruce Springsteen. Based on the strength of "Painted Ladies"; Ian Thomas DESERVED A #1 HIT but was WRONGFULLY DENIED!!!!!! Bc of that; it inspired "Liars" (1975). In fact; EVERY IAN THOMAS SONG (SINCE "LIARS") has been a PROTEST SONG AGAINST THE AMERICAN MUSIC INDUSTRY!!!!! Most often; those songs r thinly veiled w/in the lyrics (e.g.: "Pilot" from 1978 & "Riders On Dark Horses" from 1984). If u really pay attention 2 the lyrics of those respective songs, it's a SLAM AGAINST THE AMERICAN MUSIC INDUSTRY 4 SABOTAGING HIS CAREER!!!!! Even an American boy like me has uber-respect 4 Canadian musicians (especially IAN THOMAS). I maybe American but my musical allegiance will ALWAYS B CANADIAN!!!!!!

W/all due respect 2 Ian Thomas & Rik Emmett, I wish that Kim Mitchell & Gil Moore were on this feature. Their respective talents would compliment Emmett & Thomas' collective talents.

When Ian Thomas RITEFULLY CALLED OUT AGAINST THE FUCKIN' PAYOLA SCANDAL, he became blacklisted. Ian Thomas has alluded 2 that numerous times on various "Behind The Vinyl" episodes (& I'm so FUCKIN' PROUD OF HIM 4 SPEAKIN' OUT AGAINST THE FUCKIN' PAYOLA SCANDAL). How can "Painted Ladies" get SO MUCH AIRPLAY worthy of a #1 song yet only reach #26 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 (then called "Pop Singles") Chart? "Painted Ladies" had more airplay than Debby Boone's "You Light Up My Life" did less than 4 yrs l8r yet Debby Boone's "You Light Up My Life" spent 10 CONSECUTIVE WEEKS @ #1 in 1977. "Painted Ladies" from L8 12/1973(but charted in L8 1/1974-Early 2/1974 only reached #26 yet both songs had comparable airplay. Hmmm...u know what? Ian Thomas was BLATANTLY FUCKED OVR!!!! Nvrthlss, he persevered (thanks 2 Santana covering "Hold On" & Manfred Mann's Earth Band covering "The Runner"). Furthermore, "Strange Brew" (his brother Dave's movie) rein4ced what a TRUE ROCKER IAN THOMAS IS!!!!!
