    That’s why the companies that come out with probiotics of good quality good explanation third-party testing will flourish. The research part of understanding probiotics is up to the buyer. We need to do our own research to understand what they are what they do just like me sitting here watching this program. and there are people that specialize in certain areas of specialty where you have to sit down and spend hours learning about your body how it works and what works best for it by testing. You have to stop going to the doctor and asking what to do and learn about ourselves. There’s nobody that knows us better than us, as long as we’re doing our own research.

    I think probiotics are exciting and my wife is taking them for her liver cancer but I had crohn’s for 28 years an no probiotic work, the reason I believe for this is because my micro biome was trashed. It wasn’t until 9 years ago I became a plant based vegan that my crohns vanished. Now probiotics help but you can’t put probiotics into such a damaged system and expect miracles. Just before becoming vegan I was really considering doing a fecal transplant 😅

    I am soooooo confused. I honestly don't know what the message was that Dr. Reid delivered, other than, we don't know much of anything. "'Probiotics are inside us.' No they're not. 'Probiotics are in fermented foods.' No they're not." I truly appreciate that so many of you apparently got so much out of this interview; I wanted, to, as well. But ... all I kept hearing was, there's no answers. There's no rock-solid information. It's up to the next generation of scientists. Wouldn't it be great if we could do an experiment that ... Also, he noted that a legitimate probiotic fermented food should state on the label how many each strain of microbiotic should still be active at the end of shelf life; has anybody else seen this information, ever? I just checked all the fermented foods I have in my refrigerator, all by what I think are legit and reputable sources, and none of them say any such thing. A long way around to what i said to start: I am sooooo confused.

    • @gregorreid363
      @gregorreid363 Месяц назад +44

      Sorry you found it confusing. The point is that many people misunderstand that to call something probiotic you have to characterize it and prove it works. There are lactobacilli inside you that are naturally occurring. Likewise in fermented food. But a probiotic has to be characterized, grown in culture then ingested ( in this example) and shown to be effective for a health reason. So if you want to call a Kombucha that you make a probiotic you need to characterize the organisms in it then do a study to prove it provides a benefit versus placebo. That would make your Kombucha a probiotic but not others as each has slightly different strains and formulations. In terms of probiotics that work I gave examples and web sites you should find helpful plus in my book there are lists of published studies. Thanks again for watching the podcast. I hope this helps

      Do what your ancestors did, or even what your great-grandparents/grandparents did. At least that was a time before food was high corrupted by money. What was done with food was passed down from generations. Some times I'll make kimchee or saukraut and taking it hiking with me so all the microbes in the forest will go in there. I've even taken my sourdough starter hiking😁Microbes are everywhere on this planet. Spend time in the forest, ocean, anywhere that is nature heavy. Lick a tree in the wild, touch the soil in the wild, sip a bit of clean ocean water, sea mist, etc all nature is a living entity and has microbes. We don't need "experts," who most of them are bought and paid for by an industry to tell us what to eat.
      Don't sweat it. Think back to before food was shipped and grown from all corners of the earth. Eat what grows in and inhabits your region. My granny never ate anything that didn't rot in a week. She never ate packaged, industrial food. She lived to 105 and never had a health issue. No meds. Kept busy until her last breath. She was amazing. She went through some adversities but she never stressed. She had many friends and a community she was involved in.

    Bc I don't actually know which strains will benefit me, It's a personal experiment for me to try different products. Fortunately, I am well versed in noticing my body's reactions and I often get lab work to back up results. At this time I'm turning to mushroom products. I always start slowly and introduce new supplements at a lower dose than recommended. One doctor recently told me that maybe all that I do for myself masks the true lab numbers because my labs are so good! 😂 You can't throw me into a statistical group of which 99.9% are not using beneficial microbes, Tai Chi, Feldenkrais, enzymes, whole organic foods and loads of love❤

We have four generations alive in my family at one time and every single one of us have gut issues and we all know friends who have the same issues. No other explanations I’ve seen or eliminated are better than it has to be the environment and the food structure. The only variable that is the same for all of us. I hope everyone else catches up to this massive wake up call.

Understanding people with ASD and how the microbiome relates is important, but NDs don't need a cure; they need acceptance. Erasing NDs means erasing their significant contributions to society and history -- contributions in science, art, film, music, and literature.
    Also, diagnosis is improving, which is why it seems like numbers are going up.

      Hello, I am very interested. As you know, there are tons of investments out there and without solid knowledge, I can't decide what is best. Can you explain further how you invest and earn?

      Same, I operate a wide- range of Investments with help from My Financial Adviser. My advice is to get a professional who will help you, plan and enhance your management skills. For the record, working with Barry Silbert, has been an amazing experience.
