Can't thank you enough for the information you provide. Started my vegan diet after reading your book. Appreciate this site for the incredible wealth of information you provide. You have helped me change my life. Thank you
I cured my own anxiety and depression that I struggled with for 10 years by simply changing my diet and not treating my mouth like a trash compactor. I did what four doctors could not do. All thanks to Dr. Peter Breggin.
Did it take long to notice any difference to your anxiety? What was your timeline? I've cleaned up my diet but my anxiety hasnt gotten any better. I was hopeful.
@@ktcee803 there is more to it than just diet ... Although huge. Have you tried deep breathing? Many don't breath right. For me, my faith in Jesus also helps greatly. Blessings to you in Him.
@@ktcee803 If you struggle with anxiety its best to cut things that induce it before you try to add things that help with it. Coffee and sugar and gluten and dairy are the most common things that couse people to aggravate their anxiety. And for fast results - potatoes and magnesium supplement. The potassium in the potatoes and magnesium helps the body to calm down. Or - you can just buy hydration packs - the ones that runners drink - and drink that. It will help a lot.
I’ve changed my life by diet change. The best part is, I didn’t do it for weight loss, that was the biproduct. My energy level has skyrocketed and I’m so clearheaded that I feel my vision has improved. It clicked when I saw Mary Clare Haver’s menopause podcasts. She made me start the whole fermented foods, live yoghurt/kefir and tempeh , nuts, seeds berries, fruit and veg. Now that I’m “here” (in my new state) I’m not perfect. My bowel movements aren’t perfect. This podcast is helping me get it , so I’m off to get that correct magnesium. This is the best podcast I’ve ever heard.
My daughter got leukemia in the 70's and the local cancer association gave us a basket of fresh vegetables every month. I wasn't able to work so this really was her main diet. Prayer and good people saved her. The cancer Institute was doing all it knew at the time. I think the food people gave her was a big, big help. They would not give me food stamps because they said "you are an educated woman get a job" I did at a food processing so I could work nights and still get her to her radiation an Dr. Appointments. I could take free fruit from the factory as much as I could carry in my arms. Everybody could, she thrived and I believe my prayers were answered and directed me to what we needed to optimize her healing. Just thinking, she's 57, and I'm 80, so we will see how the truth of our bodies will grow in the future. Oh, we drank goat milk as my mom had a goat farm with range eggs.
If this guy, Andrew Weil, Gabor Mate, and Rangan Chatterjee were put in charge of redesigning medical training and practice, the world would be a very different place.
How wonderful it would be to redesign medical training with less focus on big pharma and more focus on the gut as the second brain, the immune system, causes of disease, and treatment through nutrition.
🙏 Dr. Bulsiewicz is brilliant. Everything has says about “Good Gut Flora” makes so much sense. I have Kidney Disease & I have type two Diabetes . I feel like all the Antibiotic’s that I take for Chronic Kidney Infection, Bladder Infections, UTI’s & yeast infection from the antibiotic’s cause my Blood Sugar levels to go high and it’s this constant struggle to try & feel healthy and strong but I feel terrible. Fatigue, nausea, anxiety, back pain, lower abdominal discomfort/pressure. My kidney function is 36% between the two. My eGRF is 19. I just got out of the hospital 2/7/24. With kidney infection,UTI, with Sepsis. My body was shaking for a day & a half, I was extremely hot, fever, and uncomfortable nausea. It was horrible. Because I have been dealing with this illness all of my life I decided to cut all processed foods, sugar, gluten, meat, dairy, and stop eating out. I’m on a plant based diet. 🌱 by the 4th day I see changes . My stomach is not bloated, less swelling in my feet, legs, face, my skin doesn’t look yellow, and I have had two + bowel movements a day. I also take prebiotics and probiotics every day. Thank you for sharing all your very helpful information. 👍
This is such great news! Well done. You must feel so much better. It is a way of eating for me now and I’m so pleased. I figured I’d go vegetarian at some pt, okay, maybe fish, but I like most everything non meat and my body has responded incredibly well. Good luck with the new you. I sure hope you can cure yourself 💪🏼
You could try herbs. Herbal teas for kidney and urinary trakts are like a miracle. Cured my chronic urinary trakt infection with long term usage of good quality herbal teas. I turned to herbs after all the useless antibiotic stopped working and doctors couldn't help me anymore. This is now 30 years ago. The teas work slowly but effectively. After several years of drinking the herbal teas just for prevention I stopped and never had any flare ups ever again. I swear by herbs and believe only in nature. My hobby now is gardening . Very rewarding.😊
Literally shaking watching this. My son 2 year old had aml we are day +19 of stem cell transplant. I never comment on RUclips’s. I have focussed on his microbiome in his chemo and transplant. He is flying through no mucositis. No need for medical feeds. Our nurses abs drs are astonished. To hear that studies are proving that what I’m already doing is improving his survival rates. I can’t even put it into words how it makes me feel. I also gave my son ip6 which is an amazing dietary fibre.
I literally cried when I listened to the part about food intolerances. I have been STRUGGLING with this and trying to figure it out with absolutely no idea how. I feel like I have developed an eating disorder because of it. A fear of foods.... and limiting myself to what I can eat with no way out. THANK YOU!!!! I am going to dive in and see how the heck I can change this for myself.
Ten years plus of whole food plantbased eating destroyed my gut. Carnivore(-ish) is healing it. I know so many people now that have healed so called irreversible diseases on a carnivore or carnivore-ish way of eating. Read the Fiber menace instead. And studies that are done on fiber where the people on the no fiber diet had the absolute best outcomes.😄🌺
Listening to this while enjoying a delicious bowl of Thai red curry over brown rice - including onions, mixed peppers, sweet potato, eggplant, lentils, carrot, coriander and green beans!
I don’t understand? So much information saying all these vegetables will heal your gut but then there’s people saying just a carnivore diet will heal your gut. What do we do
@@burger101ful i have never trusted this, every dr says that red meat causes cancer, we should eat turkey, chicken. Lamb. Fish, if its not filled with chemicals.
One thing I know for sure, pumpkin purée’s fiber helped my little kitten from suffering from diarrhea. Fiber definitely helped his little gut poor thing. Now he can run around and be his happy go lucky little self.
I found a good source for feeding my Microbiome. Recently did a DNA test and was able to actually learn what weaknesses I have in my Gene expression. I am really feeling better. I'm 66 and I was surrendering into the thoughts that aging was a crewel and inevitable thing. I now have hope again and I feel like I want to live a longer life. Thank God, you really are what you eat.
I was the “guinea pig” I’ve always enjoyed red meat and dairy along with vegetables but every single day of 2023 I ate zero carbs, zero fiber and earlier this year had a massive heart attack, Duke hospital saved my life, 4 stints and a Whole Foods plant based diet has me feeling better and my cholesterol numbers back in a healthy range. Of course no carnivores believe my story but it’s ok. I’m glad to have survived.
Believing you are already healthy is a massive mental boost. You relieve stress and your microbiome improves. The power of thought is one of the biggest superpowers you have for your own health. I believe certain bad microbes actually require the body to be stressed.
Love it when someone, full of knowledge, speaks from what science says. Not personal beliefs, science. And on top of that, even a full list of references. THIS is the way. Dr Bulsiewicz is the way. Thank you Rich for bring this to the public.
But for the problem he's lumping low carb into low fiber. Dr Berg, Keto and intermittent fasting advocate is all about feeding the microbiome with more veggies than any diet(way of eating) I've seen. I was vegetarian for decades. His diet pushes more unprocessed foods and veggies than what my vegan friends consume who eat processed junk labeled vegan much of the time.
I've come off a carnivore diet and really started to focus on feeding by gut biome. The benefits of a few months of carnivore got me lean, strong and fitness-motivated. Adding the fibre has carried those benefits over and got me leaner, and fitter and my cognitive function has improved massively. I am going to try increasing my fibre variety next
What I don't get is why it has to be either extreme. I mean, I get that people like Will and others in the longevity space are all rich Californians who can procure the absolute top quality organic veggies and top quality everything else. But the veggies regular people get in the supermarket are not organic or locally grown, they're either GMO's or have any number of pesticides and contaminants added to them. I don't think advocating a diet of 100% plant based for the average person is good general advice. Personally I fixed my gut by cutting out most processed foods, most sugar, and increasing fiber intake. I still eat meat and eggs, I don't avoid saturated fats, butter, etc. If I could afford to eat more fish and high quality veggies I might reduce meat consumption a bit, but for most people that's just not going to be possible.

I watched the previous episode with Rich and Dr B, so I could have his backstory and the information from that is excellent. When one is watching a podcast and taking notes, as I am doing, it shows the significance of what is being delivered. I feel like I am "finding myself" in what is being said here. Things that I have thought about in making changes to my diet, in looking at neuroscience to help understand my past addictive behavior with alcohol and anorexia, and the relationship between the gut and the brain is truly mind-blowing. I am so grateful that we have access to this on YT for free. Thank you guys!

I did too. Constipation was my normal state, developed IBS at age 26, rheumatoid arthritis at age 39. Healed both by adopting an animal based diet and experienced the best health I've ever enjoyed when I cut out all plants. Seek a more balanced viewpoint before you commit to plants. We aren't wired up for a plant heavy diet - this idea that we need fibre is not borne out by the many thousands of people healing their gut health and every dis-ease you can name without plants. See Dr Paul Mason, Dr Ken Berry, Dr Chaffee, Dr Shawn Baker and others for information, read the comments on those channels. Are people imaging they have better health without plants? I'll let you be the judge 🙏

Rich brings so much value it’s literally insane. Maybe I’m just health obsessed, but it’s shocking that he isn’t even more known. Another guy who has kept me going and inspired me on a deep fucking level.
HIV is a serious, recurring disease that cannot be cured with drugs or injections by American doctors, but the best way to fight HIV is by taking natural herbal remedies and only a few American doctors know about this herbal medicin. Dr Ben Uda on youtube channel the great herbalist, is an African doctor who can cure HIV with his powerful herbal medicine. for people suffering from the diseases. reach him by visiting his RUclips channel.
This was the kick ass podcast of all podcasts! Rich is eloquent, intelligent, he leads discussions with an in-depth knowledge and awareness of the guest, and the subject matter! And Dr. B?! Well, I discovered him from Rich’s first podcast, and converted to plant-based immediately, adopting liquid Vit D and B vitamins into the diet. I had been in a cytokine storm for years, a multitude of health issues - hypothyroid, rampant skin rashes/allergies, atrial fibrillation, severe depression, psoriasis, intestinal pain. I still eat fish. I eliminated commercially processed beef and chicken on the basis of ethics. A year in, I’m off heart meds, when I cut my skin, I develop a scab now … not a two-inch wide outbreak of violently inflamed dermatitis. My immune system was overloaded, even prior healed scars broke out in allergic rashes,as if my body sent too much histamine to former injury sites via some cellular memory mechanism. When your body is at war with itself, with no regulatory balance, the plethora of health problems start to add up, and quality of life decreases. I’m not anti-carnivore, and I’m so glad this discussion didn’t vilify meat eaters. I just know that these choices fit my health profile and I respect my microbiome. 🙏
Gentlemen: thank you for this informative, inspirational and timely discussion. 1) Dr B, toward the end where you hastily interject the fact that folks should check with their “medical provider”, and that you were NOT offering medical advice, I had to laugh. The reason I listen to Rich’s podcast (and Dr Huberman’s) is that there really isn’t anything resembling a “health care provider” anymore. Between the 15 minutes they are allotted to seeing you, to the fact that they probably are not aware of any new developments in their field, etc, you folks have become a lifeline. 2). The issue of the circadian rhythm present in the microbiome stopped me in my tracks!! I learned about “the master clock” several years ago, and practice the basic rules.. but my gut??!! Would love to hear more on that topic at some future date. My heartfelt appreciation for all the information you continue to bring to the general public, Rich. The podcast with Dr Walker was another astonishing, eye opening learning experience. I’m 83.. Imagine.. I had to get to this age to learn how to breathe, how to sleep and how to eat!! No thanks to any of my “health care providers “! I love you guys!!!

Oh, wow, I just realized that when we see families getting similar cancers, we assume it’s genetic, but maybe it’s the microbiome we inherit from our family is the reason familial cancers. Amazing research project.

@@maetowers I'm with you. Change your biome by 1. Take goldeseal for 4 - 5 days to cleanse the old, failing one 2. Eliminate from your diet sugar, vegetable oils except coconut and extra virgin olive oil (do not eat Italian but Greek Turkish or verified not adulterated one), all processed foods and fried foods 3. Include in your diet high fiber foods, green leafy veggies and source of probiotic kimchi, sauerkraut and other fermented vegetables like beets, kefir, all kinds of berries, drink green tea or take supplement 4. Make sure you have optimal level of D3 - very important! As well vit C is high, but don't take it in a form of supplement since they contain sometimes carcinogens like titanium dioxide and harmful magnesium stearate. Natural sources like oranges, seabuckthorn berries (I grow them in my backyard, you can too) Don't forget about minerals: magnesium, zinc, selenium, boron and other microelements and a good multivitamin if your diet is monotonous 5. Keep positive, meditate and do not watch lying mass media, but spend time with friends, go for walks in nature, dance, watch comedies. You'll be OK.
Just in the previous two weeks, have I “discovered” Dr. Will Bulsiewicz. I dare say that discovery will be the greatest asset I will have added in 2023 to health, if not for a lifetime. Thank you.
I've been a clinical hypnotherapist for 25 years, and I had clients microbiome turn up in the middle of a session and have a conversation with me. Our emotions apparently affect them more than food, and they spoke of the pathway to healing incorporating it all. I'm looking forward to going deeper with this work, and I love your discussion so so much, it absolutely aligns with what they conveyed.
Thank you for this conversation Dr. B and Rich Roll. I am always open to contrarian ideas as this is how we expand our knowledge and possible ways to experiment which is the key moving past current plateaus/paradigms.(plateau is essentially homeostasis of all the current inputs) I will take this opportunity to share my personal experience and hopefully can add to this on-going conversation. Going low-carb healed my chronic knee pain, I went from barely running 1 mile(the pain stopped me), to now running almost every day, up to almost 400 miles in 60 days, my breathing improved, my energy levels are through the roof(I went from sleeping 8 hours a day waking up tired to now only needing 3-4 hours), my cognitive function is through the roof. I'm watching close to 12 hours of youtube content at 2x speed(curating info for my community), whereas before I could barely take in 2 hours of content before reaching my neural edge. I also don't feel hungry all day like I used to, which has really helped my overall sense of well-being and have stable energy and focus all day. (went to sleep at 11pm, and woke up at 2am today before my alarm, whereas before I would go to bed at 10pm and wake up at 7am still tired, kind of mind blowing) This has been absolutely life-changing for me as I've struggled with depression and all kinds of mental ailments, which are now all gone. My relationships with my family have also experienced miraculous healing. I don't consume any caffeine at all, yet have more energy and focus that my peers who rely on it daily to feel normal. I appreciate the conversation and always looking to experiment with different approaches and my main focus is to zoom out and look into any mechanism that precedes the symptoms that most people are dealing with. So my thanks to Dr. B and Rich Roll! Epigenetic research shows that we are incredibly plastic when signaling gene expression. Every input can influence gene expression. Thoughts, emotions, beliefs, food, air, water, fasting, etc I'm going low-carb right now to heal my insulin resistance but my long term goal is metabolic flexibility which will take some time, at which point, I may run experiments with adding different sources of carbs. I have been dogmatic in the past on many topics, especially when I discover something new that has positive outcomes. In hindsight 20/20, I see this has often restricted my ability to experiment further and move past plateaus(acclimation). Plateaus = learn the next thing, or in other words, we've adapted to the current inputs. I have observed that most people focus too much on just food that we intake with our mouths, when we also need to consider what we see and hear. It's all energy and it all impacts our gene expression. There are global switches that we can tap into which will actually completely change how the body processes food, affects the microbiome, and ultimately influences our gene expression. Chronic stress, pathological emotions(shadow), limited and divisive beliefs directly disrupt our microbiome just as much as food we consume with our mouth. All inputs become outputs. (there is nuance there, as we are the train conductor for these energies) It's important to experiment and rebuild sensitivity to all inputs, through a diverse set of adaptation pathways and fasting from all different categories of inputs.. Once we can improve all our feedback systems, we won't have to depend on outsourcing our modus operandi like most of the human population does today. Our society has become so desensitized that we've lost the ability to self-regulate and are completely disconnected from nature and live in very narrow paradigms of limited dimensional theories rather than multidimensional direct experiences that honor all intelligences. Specialization reduces the holistic spectrum of data points we could be pulling from. At the core, we are energy alchemists. We want to look at the foundation of all life which is electricity. Blood ph(cellular voltage) and cellular oxygen levels can be influenced by so many different avenues. By narrowing our identity to a certain diet, we often lose the ability to transfer one type of energy to another. In general, food is a poor deal when it comes to energy exchange. To digest food, we require huge amounts of energy to produce the enzymes needed to break down food into something that is bioavailable to our body. Everyone has a different efficiency of function to this regard, as there are so many parameters that will influence the outcome and efficacy. Compound that with all the pesticides and toxins in our environment that end up blocking our receptors and disrupting our endocrine system and gut biome, the safest and most efficient source of energy is actually the sun, barefoot on the earth(grounding), and conscious breathing. And another source of energy, that has been largely neglected but shown to have powerful effects on our genetic expression is being around healthy people who have healthy biofield energies. We can transfer these free energy sources into actual macronutrients like fat, carbs, and protein. I require less sleep and food, because I surround myself as much as possible with these high quality inputs that require near zero energy to absorb. My aim of course isn't to find myself in an echo chamber, as our goal of energy acquisition is ultimately to use that to serve others and help others recover their own souls that get lost in this modern world that is wrought with so many pitfalls and traps. It has been shown that people who contribute to their communities and make positive impacts have far less pathologies and mental, physical, and emotional unrest. It's all about energy alchemy, transmuting one type of energy to another. Food is only one category of energy in this electric universe. I hope that anyone reading this that feels triggered will look within, as any negative emotional reaction is a sign of repression, and I say this with compassion and empathy because I struggled with this in the past. Everyone is on a different journey in life, but we all share the same universal energy field. Repressing parts of ourselves that were rejected in our childhood is also a very energy hungry process. It's like having background tasks open on our computer. We wear these identities that are often limited in our true nature, and act as a barrier for energy to move in and out. These social masks or Personas as Carl Jung describes them, become heavy and cumbersome to sustain energetically. Taking off the mask means we are allowing ourselves to be vulnerable, and authentic. It's an uncomfortable process but necessary in order to truly tap into our grand design and offer our unique essence to the collective macro biome of our species. If a diverse microbiome is necessary for holistic health and well-being in our individual bodies, we can also zoom out and see that our planet needs macro biome diversity of people to combat the primordial forces of entropy and tap more into the constructive forces of syntropy. If you made it this far, I commend you! Sending you love and light me to you, through the plasmatic universe. Dey
@@podunkom I appreciate it Tom. I'm very open to ongoing conversations. Our Hero's Journey is a constant state of flux. Small world, I have a new client I just started working with through a family referral, who recently did some photography work with Rich. Said Rich is a wicked awesome guy. (He's from Australia) One thing worth checking out is Dr. Jerry Tennant's work. He has a video on the RUclips channel, Thunderbolt Project. It's a union of some of the smartest experts across multiple disciplines of science. They're proposing a different theory of cosmology that fills in all the holes of the gravity and chemical based cosmos that is our current mainstream paradigm. I've been on the search for the framework in which all other frameworks can co-exist and even further augment and improve the resolution and detail of the seemingly disparate fields of knowledge. It's been a long journey, and I do believe this is the pinnacle of my search. Learning about the electric universe has connected many things for me, and the proof is in the execution. As Einstein says, the theory determines what we can perceive. With this new operating system, I've experienced orders of magnitude in what you could call holistic health and performance. Wishing you the best, Dey

This is such an amazing time to be alive in human form and navigate the waters of modernity. If you ever start a RUclips channel let me know!
@@laamore I deeply appreciate your acknowledgement Myamma! It's interesting that you mention the "sun". The sun is the single most powerful factor that we can incorporate into our lifestyle to globally enhance and augment every local system and process in our bodies. This video goes into some details on this phenomenon. ruclips.net/video/sNklS0lzlgA/видео.html People often times zoom into very fine details which can risk us missing the bigger picture. One common evolution of realizing this occurs for many when they realize that not all calories are the same. And that some attention to the make-up of those calories in relation to macronutrients are important. The next step in our journey toward health would be to realize that macronutrients have a layer of control above them, in which our hormones can impact how those macronutrients show up. The sunlight is one of the most powerful global drivers that can affect every single localized system. This would explain the mechanism of how some chronic chain smokers, or folks who have very poor diets, can out live folks who have a perfect diet, but lack sufficient time outdoors in nature. It's a skill to zoom into the details, but it's also a skill to zoom out. Specialization has it's place, but so does holistic generalization. Happy New Year!
This is the most important podcast I’ve ever listened to! For so many years I’ve listened to really great doctors on both sides of the diet wars - really credible individuals who are producing solutions and who have their legions of followers. There always seemed to have been two truths coexisting at the same time in a kind of medical paradox. The fact that two different people, with two different biomes, respond differently to different diets can be explained now. I always knew that the results themselves which is to say that the people who were so ardently testifying that a particular diet had helped them heal - these results and these people were ALL correct all along. For myself, this is the first time I genuinely feel that I know the correct direction of travel for my own efforts at solving my own issues. I have hope and I cannot thank doctor Will and Rich Roll enough for pushing this out into the world. You two gentleman are going to be helping an infinite number of people who desperately need this message. Thank you, thank you, thank you! I am deeply grateful.
Any doctors (and there are so many on RUclips) when they make certain claims must be able to back them with peer-reviewed independent studies (those not sponsored by food industry). Dr. B backs what he talks by such studies and he is a cutting edge researcher himself. Most conventional doctors actually get very little training in nutrition (about 30 hours in their whole study). Also you have to distinguish between doctors who have their own channels and those who are being interviewed (or making presentations at some conferences). Those with their own channels are more incentivized to present information that people want to hear in order to get more views. Although everyone is different and there are outliers, property planned scientific studies apply to most people, otherwise there is no value to any scientific studies. So we have to follow what these scientific studies show. When we hear anecdotes (contrary to the scientific studies), we get influenced that way, but we may not know the whole story or do not know the long term effect. Thus we have to be very mindful of what we hear on social media.
I've eaten a starch-based vegan diet for ~15 years and have always had excellent digestion. Then in mid-October I got food poisoning from a frozen burrito, and have had IBS for about 3 weeks. Trying to very slowly rebuild the microbiome, and it makes me appreciate what you take for granted when your digestion works right.
@@IronJohn755 It is impossible to have good hydration from eating only cooked foods - especially if that includes a lot of starch ie cooked potatoes, rice, cooked legumes, pasta and bread.. You can't get it from drinking water either. It needs to come from water rich raw fruit and raw veg.
@@emilybh6255 I eat plenty of those. Neither are very nutritionally dense, so as a vegan your caloric source will either come from cooked starches or nuts, oils, etc. which are too fatty. Rice, beans, potatoes, sweet potatoes, wheat, oats, lentils, etc. and lots of fruits & veg to boot.
@@IronJohn755 Sorry your had such a rough time with food poisoning . However, you don't get sufficient hydration to speak of from anything except raw fruit, veg and tender leafy greens. You may THINK you are hydrated but according to Loren Lockman even a lot of people who have been eating a strict raw vegan lifestyle for years, still aren't hydrated due to old material still in their GI tract walls that is all hard and dry. People aren't able to be fully hydrated and have a fully efficient digestive tract until they get rid of that often done via a long term water fast . The other things you mentioned all dehydrate you and constipate you. You can get all the calories you need from fruit and once you get completely cleaned out and your absorption of nutrients is optimal, you don''t need nearly as many calories. Loren Lockman says he only needs about 1400 per day and he is athletic and six feet tall.
Yes, me too. So much love in this episode. I am grateful to having the opportunity to watch it and much thanks Rich for all the content you provide. I am currently reading Fiber Fueled with great delight, it is an amazing book.
Thank God for the internet and wifi, I started plant based about 4 months ago and I feel so amazing and the weight is dropping off. Thank you sooooo much.
people say the same about the carnivore diet. Vegan isnt a diet, it is a fast, you feel good in the short term. Long term, nutrient lack, permanent damage is often done. Long term vegans do make big claims, but they cheat to stay alive.
I have done the same due to hypertension and stage 3a CKD and lost 10 lbs. over 2 months without trying. I wasn’t over 123 to begin with but feel great at 112/113.
I eat a low carb plant based diet and I got my 92 now 93 year old Mother to do the same... and it tastes GREAT!!!and we feel greater than ever!!! and it's so easy....
I have not eaten processed food of any type for over 40 years. I have not eaten meats except salmon for forty years or more. I grow my own vegetables organically and have for 40+ years. I have had autoimmune/leaky gut for decades and recently had a psoriasis flare up. Fasting for long duration always healed the symptoms in my past. Not this time. Twenty days water fasting and still the skin condition persisted. I was out of options and even tried dry fasting for seven days! Tough protocol. I saw Paleolithic Ketogenic Diet and sourced the necessary meats and fats and organ meats. After three weeks with zero carbs and a high fat, moderate protein, and organ meats (all grass fed grass finished) I saw healing. My skin is a visible indicator of internal conditions of my gut wall and micro biome. I have begun eating brassicas and some green salads with an avoidance of high lectin foods and some berries but low fructose fruits. I can say that I feel healing is possible but requires stopping what is “feeding” the problem and supplying nutrients to promote healing. After strict adherence to the PKD plan for a month I could eat foods that prior to would have caused an almost immediate worsening of my psoriasis. I am even pushing the boundaries to include coffee and 88% cocoa occasionally. I am continuing the meats and doing one meal or two a day (16-18 hour fasting, 6-8 hr eating time). My skin is 90% better and I feel it could heal completely if I did a few weeks of strict adherence to the Paleolithic Ketogenic Diet plan again. It is such a relief to know healing is possible and I’m convinced no one knows what the causes are of leaky gut for each person. I have a suspicion that pesticides in combination with other factors is a possible main cause, especially glyphosate..My hope is to once again be able to eat as a vegetarian but ultimately my bio-markers will determine if that’s possible now. Research Dr. Zosfia Clemens and Paleolithic Ketogenic Diet @ Paleomedicina or International Center for Medical Intervention. They are based in Hungry but can be accessed online.
Michael, I did focussed 100% PKD for approx 25 days, healed up significantly (amazing reduction of inflammatory conditions of PsA = healing). Sadly, my energy increased significantly (always fairly high) - so much that insomnia resulted. I have researched this is not such an unusual side effect. You? Any issue? Any tips?? Thanks very much.
@@eugeniebreida the research I have done and believe to be true supports the conclusion that each of us is unique, especially when considering the digestive system. And even that changes with age and of course what is fed to the microbes and a multitude of other environmental conditions. I had an increase in energy also during the strict PKD which I maintained for almost two months total but no sleep/resting concerns, even slept more soundly and uninterrupted, not even for bathroom visits, which continues to be the case now with a less strict regimen that includes berries, salads, and mostly cruciferous vegetables cooked and now asparagus that is abundant. I guess the point I am trying to resolve is that since intestinal permeability seems to be the agreed to cause of the autoimmune conditions, and then judging from my skin condition healing must have happened that coincided with the PKD effort, is complete healing possible if adherence is maintained for longer? I am still using grass fed/finished meats and organs and high fat. And trying to eat the fats and proteins first if any carbs. are eaten at a meal. In the past fasting has been a reliable and amazing practice to heal and generally regain a mental and physical reset. What ever the causes of the worsening of my leaky gut it was apparent that fasting was not working. Usually the re-feeding is when healing accelerates but if my body can’t utilize the nutrients and especially if the leaky gut had not been healed through autophagy during fasting then for me it seemed that any food I consumed triggered the immune system! I was and still am amazed at seeing healing while eating meats of all things! I meant to say also that it took at least two weeks for my body to adjust to the fats and meats with diarrhea and other bowel symptoms. But I was encouraged by the positive attributes and the assurance that this was to be expected to stick with it. Psoriasis is intolerable when it gets extreme and I will do what ever it takes to heal it. Again I am beyond grateful that a means of allowing my body to heal is known and doable. I would like it so much if healing was complete and I could resume a plant based diet without ill effects. I don’t know or need to know what compelled you to try the PKD, but I feel even insomnia would subside in time. I do have a regular practice of meditation (usually Zazen) in the morning and evening before sleep. Very helpful to recognize that we are the awareness and can view the mind and it’s thoughts as objects as well as the body and all matters of thought. I can direct you to very good instruction/ learning if you are so inclined. This combined with yoga practice and physical activity make being in this body much more interesting and useful. Ironically we are not this body and not even this mind!
@@michaellyttle4347 Thank you so much for your extensive reply. I will be back to reread when I am rested. But to respond to one aspect, I tried the PKD and was successful until insomnia took hold, in an attempt to heal my gut (of course) and tamp down autoimmune activity of psoriatic arthritis. It was heartwarming to read your story, as our adventures have been similar. Though it sounds as if you are a 'warrior sleeper', and I have always been challenged. My thinking this may be a gender predisposition. In any event, I have researched, and the high fat pkd diet deinitely raises energy levels after one's past 'the fu' phase. . . the hormones aren't coming to mind, but it's real. szofia recognizes and understands some of us MUST have small amount of carbs to sleep. I have not worked w/her directly. Did you ? Thanks and more later.
The comments section is almost as health-promoting as the information in the Podcasts. Terribly grateful at a world where such people as y'all exist - sure, things are f'd up some but this place also exists.
This interview was incredible! I feel like so many people are dealing with bloating and there’s so many factors and possible reasons for it. I feel like this book is going to be so comprehensive and help people. Dr. B’s sincerity and really wanting to help people is palpable and I know he has the capability of touching so many lives. If we could all feel really good, just imagine what kind of world this would be!!!
Dr. B. is a great Renaissance man. I like his great insights into diet and health but admire he is very environmentally aware! Thanks Dr. B, for educating us on the benefits of biodiversity in natural ecosystems too! His views remind me of the One Health approach. Thanks for your great insights, Dr. B! Hoya saxa!
I woke up to you this morning, and I already shared. My family and friends need this as well as myself. I started an indoor garden to help with fresh food. I messed up my gut a few months ago with laxatives and Roland's with fiber. I ended up going to the hospital. After that visit. I no longer take those products. I stay away from antibiotics and I know good gut health is good brain health. So I'm still working on it. Thank-you
Crash notes: -Fiber = Plants and mushroom -Prebiotic feeds microbes and microbiome: 1. Fiber - Short-fatty acids 2. Resistance starches - potatoes 3. Polyphenols - colors in plants - Resveratrol - peanuts - grapes -Plant points = the game to add plants to your meals -Each 5 % of fiber you add in your diet increase your protection against melanoma cancer of 30 % (not sure - I should rewatch this section!) -High histamine foods = fermented, chocolat, alcool, vinager, avocato, tomato, eggplant, fish, spinach = stop eating for two weeks and see if allergy symptoms diseapear
If you have asthma some stuff with resveratrol also has a higher histamine count so you might want to check that out also. So like red wine has some benefits and might be calming even for some but also has higher histamine. Bone broth also has some histamine despite it being really good for you primarily due to the glycine content.
You shouldn't listen to ppl telling you to eat a lot of plants. You digest about half of anything in a plant bc the proteins in plants aren't meant for us to digest they are meant for the plant.
@@ViralVideos-pr2oi I eat plants I feel bad. Hate the taste. Been like that since a kid. Tried to eat more...I get issues. Tried many times over the years. No chemicals, all organic, no additives, but still, veggies mess me up. I have been doing psyllium, no idea if it really helps...doesn't seem to cause issues. Carbs or veggies don't sit well with me. Getting rid of carbs and plants and my weight is good, I feel better, stomach is better 🤷♂
Just a wonderful interview gentlemen! Bravo! My 8 and 5 year old WFPB grandsons have been "smashing broccoli sprouts" since they were infants as well. In fact, I purchased a sprout growing subscription so they would always have their beloved fresh 🥦 sprouts! Thanks again.🥰
Broccoli/sprouts are man-made, have hardly any nutrition (fiber is not nutrition) and they have a lot of toxins and anti-nutrients. You know that bitter taste you get from broccoli/sprouts? Bitter food is a sign of toxins. Humans are wired to not like bitter food because that is a sign of toxins. Ever wondered why kids usually don't like to eat veggies? It's cause they are not yet brainwashed to think it is good for you and their body is telling them not to eat it.
make sure you load them up with soy and grains. especially during puberty. without the added cholesterol from animal products that is the precursor to ALL of the sex hormones, and the added estrogen from a plant based diet, they will no doubt be robust and develop properly. if our ancestors didnt eat meat we cease to exist end of chat. the little boys that eat meat are going to develop properly and eat your two little grand unics for supper and and then impregnate their women. keep sending hairless castratis; we love their flavor. warmest regards, the bully that ate you grand kids lunch
Broccoli, one of the good ones. It contains sulforaphane a anti-inflammatory that can get through the tight junctions in the blood brain barrier to un-inflame neuro-inflammation. Not as good as good as resveratrol, curcumin, or trans-e-viniferin, but still good.
@@DanDascalescu-dandv if you know anyone going through immunotherapy advice them to increase their intake of fiber to 30g/day. The microbiome dictates all the processes in your body. There is a microbiome in your brain too. Many diseases are linked to the microbiome. If you want to heal a disease, do a gut test to see what your microbiome looks like. Even for liver cancer there is a bacteria that creates certain tumors. Studies showed that people that have higher bifidobacteria, didn't get the Covid virus (this was from a research not discussed in this video). An imbalance between firmicutes and bacteriodetes can cause obesity, when firmicutes are higher, or IBS, when they are lower, etc. In a nutshell everything in the body is intertwined with your microbiome.
Absolutely, I just wanted to listen for a few minutes, I ended up listening to the whole thing (almost 3 hours). Dr. B is a good commentator, not only in this interview, but in every interview of him I have seen. Every time I have seen his interview, I ended up listening to the whole thing. Same thing with his book, I started reading it, and couldn’t put it down.
I was sent this link from my physical therapist a few months ago. I listened to this and it has changed my life! I am now on the ZOE plan and am feeling the results of eating for my biology. Thank you Dr. Will and Rich.
Rich, I listen to podcasts all morning long.... I have to say, you are the BEST in how a conversation flows, your respect in allowing the guest to speak and your questions. BRAVO! Great thanks to the Doctor for your wide view of life changing information. LOVED IT!👏
Saying Thank you is an understatement. Plase, both of you, stay healthy and strong physically, mentally, and emotionally because y'all are spitting huge knowledge & hope for the millions of us that are lost in the confusion known as modern life. And still I have to Thank you! Can't wait to get Dr. B's new book!!
I love this, but also found myself in tears a couple of times. I am beyond thrilled that science is FINALLY really delving into what matters most to the way in which life requires us to work, but it is also somewhat frustrating. This is what I have been trying to share for years with clients, friends and family. But was told I needed to not talk or add this to my work since I am neither a doctor nor nutritionist. This idea that without a degree or without the "belief" of the science world, then something does not exist until studied. This is what Ayurveda is based on and it has been around for more than 7,000 years. It is the understanding of ritam. That everything within the material world has a perfect balance and we are meant to ensure we don't take more than we give and balance everything we do with the bodies we were born in. I appreciate it the work but damn it, it is time to start acknowledging there is so much wisdom out there that doesn't need to be studied before being implemented. Really...what would have been bad about encouraging healthy diets before this. Now, let science study how different doshas/body types need differing foods to keep their unique systems in balance. Start with Vatta, Pitta, Kapha.
Some great points although I would argue science is really a word for observation. 7000 years is a lot of observation, even if it is not using what we consider modern scientific methods. Have to respect that wisdom.
@@willbulsiewicz6554 thank you for acknowledging the validity of traditional medicine. May not all be correct, but a hell of a lot of trial and error has gone into these principles being established, clearly.
@@Powerpuff772 Like anything else, we can always learn more and there's always room for more research. But it definitely should not be dismissed. Many of the principles have proven to be true, even if the words/terms we use are different in a modern context. Just my two cents...
It is difficult to apply all of that knowledge in today's world, with today's food supply. So many vegan and vegetarian's are struggling with declining health and finding relief in carnivore or high carnivore diets now. I have suspected that the Microbiome issues may be at the back of today's epidemic of oxalate sensitivity and lectin sensitivity. Those conditions can be pure hell for people. And pure heaven when they ditch the plants and get past the dumping of these sharp little proteins. As for the poop implant, this kind of thing has been known for a long time. Anyone who read "the makers diet" was introduced to her important this was for Jordan Rubin's son's healing process - From concentration camp starvation because his body could not absorb food to an extremely healthy person who has been active in the natural health world as his father was. So much wisdom from the natural health world is disregarded biomedical science and therefore it is ignored by Much of the general public. Can't tell you how many people are miserable while thinking they're doing the right thing. So many health problems as they eat their Fibrous whole-grain Ezekiel bread, And vegetables, and very little meat because they are disinclined to work at things they don't care to do. Can't afford it. Now they're too sick to work and still can't afford it. I'm tired of watching people follow medical advice until they die. From the medical advice. From the nutritional advice approved by their doctor. The kooky people who did the opposite Beat their cancer and are alive and kicking.
My family absolutely loves Dr. B and his leadership on nutrition. He is so easy to listen to and he explains everything so well that even non-science people can understand. I love his approach to these topics and he genuinely seems like a good guy and an amazing doctor! We love you Dr. B!!
You guys are amazing. Cancer can't live in a alkaline body. 😊 praying for my aunt Kim who is battling stage 4 cancer and lots of autoimmune diseases. 🙏💜🌻
Just wow! Such a wonderful interview with you both. Dr. B is so good at explaining & illustrations. A humble man that shares because he cares. Rich you are the best interviewer. Thank you both. About to listen to this again! ❤️🙏
I CANNOT GET ENOUGH OF THIS PODCAST. THIS IS INVALUABLE, LIFE TRANSFORMATIVE INFORMATION. WE REALLY ARE WHAT WE EAT. I CAN’T GET PAST CERTAIN PARTS BECAUSE I HAVE TO KEEP REWINDING AND LISTENING TO THE INFORMATION OVER AND OVER.
Did i miss the part of ptsd and the microbiome? It really intrigues me! Wonderful, educational episode🙏🏻 thank you so much for sharing this wisdom. As an autismmom i would love an episode on supplements/ foods for our kids❤

This is an excellent podcast! It is so refreshing to have the interviewer actually know the subject and both give life changing information to the viewers 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
As a health professional in the field of cardiac medicine for many years, anecdotally I would submit that gene expression must play a huge role in whether or not that high cholesterol affects your heart health. I had many patients who ate bacon every day but lived to be 90 and some who ate healthy, ran marathons and died of heart disease in their 40’s. I saw this often.
could the possibility of high amounts of carbs be the cause, when I see the guy who was healthy and ran everyday but dies could it be he ate lots of carbohydrates
Totally agree and believe it’s 99% genetics, my great grandmother lived to 103 and ate whatever she wanted, my uncle is now 87 and he also eats whatever he wants (mostly Cheerios with milk) he’s not on any prescription meds and has a full head of hair like Ronald Reagan…so who really knows
@@cross1823 I eat so many carbs, if they kill you I'd be dead and I'm thriving. I recommend staying away from hcfs which is in majority of soda and candy in this country however
This video is such an eye opener and is easily the best podcast ever. I could go on listening for many more hours. It is life-changing! Dr. B has shared very useful groundbreaking information that we've been fortunate to receive. Thank you, Dr. Bulsiewicz and Rich!
Thank you for this! I'm a psychologist and am currently researching the connection between microbiome issues with various mental illnesses. Have seen a SPIKE in issues since Covid. This is very helpful.
Fruits were the key for me... 3-5 a day, not blended. Something magical happens when your gut breaks down the fiber of foods that are nutritionally dense. Apples have been my greatest help.
Smoothies sound good but when talking gut health(not nutrients) nothing beats an apple or orange (I'd guess a high fiber, high nutrient dense food would work). Smoothies also made me loose. So, I stopped in favor of whole fruits. I eat a piece of fruit almost every time I leave the house and in the mornings instead of a complex breakfast. I used whole fruits to train the gut and probiotics/fermented as a super boost.
Simly Amazing!!! Mind Blowing!!! My mum is just finnishing her cancer treatment, and hearing all this everything makes so much sense. Thanks to Dr. B. she is on a whole food plant based diet for 1 year by now and she is thriving! Thank you for this life saving podcast!!!
Incredible information simplified! As someone that has suffered from chronic constipation for over 10 years I took your advice to use magnesium and within a few days I am flushed out like never before!!! Basically addicted to laxatives and it brought me to tears that a simple solution solved my issue in a few days!! Thank you!!!

I was diagnosed with UC over 20 years ago. It's so sad that traditional Gastroenterologists are not trained in all the things discussed here. Thank you so much for this conversation/information!
There’s no real science here...Dr B is a bullshit artist just like all of the other plant-based and vegan doctors. He’s basically pushing a vegan diet because it’s a failsafe recommendation in the early stages of a vegan diet. That is because a vegan or PB diet is a dietary fasting. So these charlatans are duping you like a street performer with 3-card Monty. So if you went on a one week water fast, you can reverse all sorts of diseases. On a vegan diet it takes just 2 weeks...the thing is they don’t tell you it’s a fast, so they recommend you stay on the vegan diet indefinitely. But after 2-3 weeks on a vegan diet your body starts to consume the healthy cells in your body to compensate for the lack of animal fat and protein in your diet. Only animal foods nourish the human body.
Dr. B. Is an excellent communicator not only in this interview (I ended up watching the whole three hours in one seating), but in every interview of him I have seen. He is a monthly regular guest on Exam Room Live (RUclips channel and podcast). I watch every interview of him and end up watching the whole interview every time. Also I started reading his book Fiber Fueled and could not put it down.
Thank you for such a great post. All dials back to the gut and immune system. I would like to share my own experience, as there appear to be nuanced parallels in the pathological and diagnostic understanding . My journey has involved four separate SARS-CoV-2 infections, with initial infections presenting minimal, self-limited symptomatology. However, following the third exposure, I began to encounter an array of persistent and increasingly complex reactions, which drove me to undertake a rigorous course of self-directed research and pursue targeted diagnostics. Early assessments revealed tryptase levels within standard reference ranges, leading my physician to preliminarily exclude mast cell involvement. Nevertheless, due to the persistence and escalating nature of my symptoms, I engaged in a broader diagnostic approach. This eventually uncovered a spectrum of gastrointestinal and immunological disturbances, including eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE), small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO) (confirmed via Lactulose testing) but it was a distal SIBO or intestinal methanogen overgrowth (IMO) fermentation, and intestinal hyperpermeability (“leaky gut”)- exactly as explained. Detailed immune profiling identified significant aberrations in key biomarkers: • GPCR and beta-mutations / GPCR Chemokine Receptor (101.3): Notably elevated, typically expected to fall below 40. • Beta-1 adrenergic receptor antibody (B1AR-AK): 58.5, indicating heightened autonomic involvement. • Beta-2 adrenergic receptor antibody (B2AR-AK, muscarinic): 50, suggesting dysregulation in muscarinic receptor pathways. • Cholinergic M4 receptor antibody (MCM4R-AK): 31.7, reflective of cholinergic system involvement. • Secretory IgA (sIgA): 2365, indicating an exaggerated mucosal immune response. • Zonulin: 3000, confirming compromised gut barrier integrity. In an effort to fortify the gut epithelium, I initially trialed a gut-lining support intervention, which elicited transitory dermatologic reactions before ultimately yielding an appreciable improvement in systemic symptoms. After suspending this regimen, I introduced spore-based probiotics as some maybe did an addition which overwhelmed my immune response, leading to the development of bacterial folliculitis. This intervention has since been linked with further sequelae, including acne, rosacea-like cutaneous eruptions, and notable weight dysregulation. Given my confirmed histamine intolerance-characterized by pronounced dermatologic reactivity to specific dietary histamines in a pattern consistent with rosacea manifestations and foliculitis- I am currently seeking advanced insights on therapeutic strategies to modulate this intricate symptomatology., this interview for sure helped! Should anyone have experience with analogous cases or evidence-based recommendations for navigating such complex, interwoven immune and gastrointestinal disruptions, I would be most appreciative of your expertise, also if you see the context of SIBO- mainly I have bloating, skin issues sometimes, headache, low energy, low vitamins especially iron, issues gaining weight, histamine intolerance- showing some parallels with you. Thanks for such an amazing video- I will incorporate more Fiber, resistant starch, and maybe take DAO.

I'm hearing this as the proverbial choir you're preaching to. One new piece from your podcast is on motility. I've enjoyed a high fiber vegetarian diet for three decades. I wondered about the almost overly frequent stool release though compared to other people. Every morning, like clockwork and then at multiple points throughout the day. Before I was a vegetarian and deliberately taking in fermented foods, I struggled with the worse ulcer the doctors had ever seen in a person my age at the time. They didn't know about the microbial reason for ulcers at that time, and I was eating meat as per my cultural training in those days. I chose to try to add microbes to my gut as an approach to solving my bleeding ulcer problem. It took almost a year to resolve, but my experiment on self seemed to work. There has been no recurrence of the ulcer in almost 40 years. I'm not struggling with gas, but I really did back in my 20s. I suspect there is an issue for digestion of meat in combination with other vegetables that causes gases to form. Is this known to be the case? Does the body have to preferentially focus on digesting the meat resulting in an imbalance of the other foods in line for digestion? Does that contribute to gas?
This podcast is a gift. Thank you both so much 😊! I have been eating a low carb diet that is very high in fibre from veggies, nuts and seeds and moderate in good quality protein and fat for well over a decade and I feel fantastic. As individual as results can be - I think many people could benefit from some variation of this. It’s satisfying and delicious 😋
@@blackmarketarmy Not really. I tried watching _Cowspiracy_ myself and got really pissed off at how they poo-pooed regenerative agriculture and only interviewed one couple in California, where we've been in a drought for decades, and acting as if they were perfect examples of how to graze cows. They were not, and many ranchers are able to graze far more cows per acre than they were. Plus, the movie sneered at Allan Savory, who has been working on promoting turning deserts into grasslands for decades after making what he considered the biggest mistake of his life in killing off huge numbers of elephants in Africa because science thought the animals were causing desertification. What a waste of two hours that movie was.
@@pinkiepinkster8395 Yes. Animals convert plants into high-quality protein, and human beings have been eating animals almost exclusively for millions of years. Amazing but somehow we managed to make it this far. If you want to help the earth, you need to support *regenerative agriculture,* which is restoring the soil microbiome and producing living healthy soil, healthy plants, healthy animals, and healthy people. Plant-eating apes have to eat for 8 hours a day in order to get enough plant food to support their bodies. We don't have to spend much time eating if we rely on the food our distant ancestors somehow managed to thrive on, with the occasional berries and seasonal fruits.
Just finished listening to the episode. I’ve been having some digestive issues and it was so helpful and fascinating to hear all the information Dr. B has given. Can’t wait to try them out! Thank you Rich for creating amazing contents every week. I love your show!!

Several times a day...constipated, gas and bloating incomplete everytime it feels -> plantfroof for years (this issue tho started just a few years ago, crohns and colitis diagnosed) and just wanna get back to normal. Tried several things from TCM & naturopathic attemps etc... Glad you guys are out there (Simon & all the other great humans out there too) - keeps me motivated
After many years trying expensive, complicated protocols for gut health- I found what works best for me: 1) eat 1 small organic apple per day 2) avoid gmo’s as much as possible 3) avoid processed foods as much as possible 4) cook with only olive & avocado oil 5) no canned soft drinks of any kind- lemon water, coffee, tea only
Very enjoyable and educational programme. Funny the psyllium was mentioned for constipation. I brought it back to the UK with me while on holiday in Europe. I take a lot of fibre but still struggle with constipation. Now, you mentioned magnesium sulfate, oxide and citrate. Mum buys these bitter waters as a form of laxative which I had tried and that work a magic for constipation. I just checked what they contain and it is magnesium sulfate!!!! These cost about £1 in Europe where I come from but in the UK about £4.50 per 500ml. So very good to know and hear all your advice. I have been making my own sourdough for about 4 years now, also drink kefir and love sauerkraut. It is all about microbiome for a good health. Thanks Doc :)
I was meant to watch this 1000%. Thank you so much!!! You are making connections nobody has ever made before, at least to my knowledge. I’ve been struggling with the worst IBS (at least that’s what I think it is), candida in stomach, constipation, and unknowing flatulence (sorry if that’s tmi!). This has been going on for several long months now and it feels like my life is falling apart due to this. It’s changing the way I feel, the way I absorb nutrients, and the even the way I smell. When you mentioned Covid, I realize that right around the time when I had covid, is exactly when I started to feel all of these awful, never-ending symptoms. it’s affection my relationships, career, confidence,…..everything. Could it be that covid is causing these major changes in my digestive system??? I’ve gone to SEVERAL doctors and even thought I had pinworms! Nobody has been able to tell me what is going on with my body and I’m starting to feel like I’m crazy. All of the doctors certainly made me feel that way. But I know my body, and this is not how it “normally” functions. I did endless amounts of research before I figured out that it (part of it?) is candida. The doctors didn’t mention it at all, which i think is weak. They told me to go see a psychiatrist and take an evaluation for paranoia. I’ve never been paranoid in my life. Something is strangely wrong with my stomach and colon. I’ve been taking collagen but realized the brand I use contains lead and seems to be making everything worse. I’m lactose intolerant so no kefir for me. I’ve been taking l-glutamine, drinking copious amounts of lapacho tea, and taking pro&pre-biotics. I hope this goes away soon. I’ve been so patient and don’t want to live in fear of emitting an odd odor due to an underlying health issue. i don’t think I smell, but people around me are hinting at it :(
Hang in there! 4 months after my 3rd set of Covid symptoms, I had 8 weeks of unreal gut changes. I was afraid to leave home and “luckily” was not working at that time. I finally went to my TCM doctor and my body returned to normal health within 2-3 days.
@@karenmartin4364 hi! I’m not certain of the formulation. Traditional Chinese Medicine factors in meridians, pulse of our organs, color of our tongue and eyes along with reported symptoms. If you live somewhere near a TCM college, there are professors who are available at the college clinic (think of a teaching hospital or clinic), who can assist you. I wish you the best… 😀
I've heard that taking a chlorophyll supplement can help with deodorizing body odors. My friend takes a liquid one. But i also imagine it's related to general diet. Good luck!
Dr. B, I was totally impressed by you final talking points about the young woman who was having difficulties and due to job change she was able to fix her problems. Thumbs up to both of you for this interview which was extremely informative and helpful. Thanks 🙏

I cured my own anxiety and depression that I struggled with for 10 years by simply changing my diet and not treating my mouth like a trash compactor. I did what four doctors could not do. All thanks to Dr. Peter Breggin.

@@HumanimalChannel hey. I agree with you. I wish we could hear the update on their son.

I am always open to contrarian ideas as this is how we expand our knowledge and possible ways to experiment which is the key moving past current plateaus/paradigms.(plateau is essentially homeostasis of all the current inputs)
I will take this opportunity to share my personal experience and hopefully can add to this on-going conversation.
(went to sleep at 11pm, and woke up at 2am today before my alarm, whereas before I would go to bed at 10pm and wake up at 7am still tired, kind of mind blowing)
This has been absolutely life-changing for me as I've struggled with depression and all kinds of mental ailments, which are now all gone.
Thoughts, emotions, beliefs, food, air, water, fasting, etc
I'm going low-carb right now to heal my insulin resistance but my long term goal is metabolic flexibility which will take some time, at which point, I may run experiments with adding different sources of carbs.
(there is nuance there, as we are the train conductor for these energies)
It's important to experiment and rebuild sensitivity to all inputs, through a diverse set of adaptation pathways and fasting from all different categories of inputs..
Dey

It's been a long journey, and I do believe this is the pinnacle of my search. Learning about the electric universe has connected many things for me, and the proof is in the execution. As Einstein says, the theory determines what we can perceive. With this new operating system, I've experienced orders of magnitude in what you could call holistic health and performance.
Wishing you the best,

@@DeyBwah ...I really appreciated reading your perspective and listening to the diverse opinions I can learn from. on RUclips. I too am low carb ...actually carnivore but I have learned from traveling around the sun for more than 5 decades there is never one thing that works for everyone and nothing has ever been static for myself.
This video goes into some details on this phenomenon. ruclips.net/video/sNklS0lzlgA/видео.html
People often times zoom into very fine details which can risk us missing the bigger picture.
Starch is not optimal. Cooked starch is VERY DEHYDRATING.
@@emilybh6255 I can attest from personal experience that it is QUITE HYDRATING INDEED
It's a shame I can only give this episode one thumbs up. It deserves a whole lot more! Can't wait for Dr. B's return!
How much weighy did u lose in 4 months? Also are u controlling grain portions or no?

-Fiber = Plants and mushroom
-Prebiotic feeds microbes and microbiome:
1. Fiber - Short-fatty acids
2. Resistance starches - potatoes
3. Polyphenols - colors in plants - Resveratrol - peanuts - grapes
-Plant points = the game to add plants to your meals
-Each 5 % of fiber you add in your diet increase your protection against melanoma cancer of 30 % (not sure - I should rewatch this section!)
-High histamine foods = fermented, chocolat, alcool, vinager, avocato, tomato, eggplant, fish, spinach = stop eating for two weeks and see if allergy symptoms diseapear

What does smashing mean? Eating? Or literally smashing?
This is where I want to go learning to do sprouting for all my family
make sure you load them up with soy and grains. especially during puberty. without the added cholesterol from animal products that is the precursor to ALL of the sex hormones, and the added estrogen from a plant based diet, they will no doubt be robust and develop properly. if our ancestors didnt eat meat we cease to exist end of chat. the little boys that eat meat are going to develop properly and eat your two little grand unics for supper and and then impregnate their women. keep sending hairless castratis; we love their flavor.

And I remember Jim Fix who wrote a couple of books on running and died at 52 while running because of his genetic predisposition for heart disease

Thank you for doing this. I am a 60yr old woman with ms and leukemia (stem cell transplant) and appreciate all this helpful information that some was never aware of.
Hope it helps Sue!

Thank you for this incredible gift. Living in Arkansas, it can be difficult to find like minded people in terms of how to eat to promote health. This information and format is life-changing. Thank you Thank you thank you!!!
Thanks for checking it out.
I agree, just moved to Arkansas
Sense of wonder, I am a nursing student at UAMS hoping to do research on this very topic! My mission is to help our Arkansas citizens! I am also a dietitian. You know “it takes a village”. If we can combine our ideas, please leave a reply so we can brainstorm! Most sincerely, Rhonda

Dr. B is very helping! Allergies are different from food intolerance! Vinegar is very delicious for me! The Plant Fed Gut !The Fiber Fuel !
I’d love to hear what doctor B has to say about SIBO (small intestinal bacterial overgrowth)
Dr B is the man! Good on you for bringing him on the show
Appreciate you Tom!
I am very grateful for such a detailed and complete presentation of the problem. This video came at the right time for me. .All the best to both of you.☀️
I have just started reading Dr B’s book it is awesome and listening to this while walking 5k puts many of the pieces together. Thank you to both of you
Very informative educational and enjoyable.
Rich, after watching your podcast with Dr. Will’s book on Fiber Fueled, I got the book and read it, it was a total delight. So thank you for your podcast. I love the show. It’s very informative.
Dr Will. You look outstandingly healthy! You're my favorite source of information on health. Thanks so much
Honored for you to say this. Thanks for your support.
@@willbulsiewicz6554 Outstanding work Dr Will, thank you for blowing my mind for the most insightful nearly three hours.
Also a very distinguished communicator 👍🏻
Not many can hold my attention for 3 hours - great discussion and very informative!
Truly Fabulous. Lots of great info. Through the years I have adopted many of these approaches with great results but it was at the end Dr Will when you told the story of the gal who quit her stressful job and her gut issues became non existent is when it truly landed home. I’ve had the exact same experience. My gut always acts up when I am not properly aligned. Thanks for the download. Look forward to gaming my plant intake. ☮️ 🌱 🙏🏻

Just found your channel, and I love the long format shows, allowing for getting into the nitty gritty of the subjects ❤ Thank you!!
I’m so so grateful to have the possibility to listen such mind blowing podcasts. 💗 Thank you Rich and Thank you Dr. B 💗
All protein comes from plants. Watch Game Changers and Earthlings and Forks Over Knives and Cowspiracy.
@@pinkiepinkster8395 ...propaganda...
@@jellybeanvinkler4878 nope, factual info
THIS WHOLE VIDEO!! 🎉🎉🤘🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🎯 and especially the sh*t talkin part they get through smoothly with humor and professionalism - so awesome.
Rich is the perfect ingredient to every interview recipe!
Excellent guest, such a relevant topic. One of those podcasts that I'm gonna want to listen twice to. Thanks!!
Great discussion and their open-mindedness is off the charts! I wish more people would watch this and follow their lead
Wow AWE-inspiring! And such a life-changer! May God continue to bless his life-saving work and spread it far and wide!🙏🏼🥰
Amazing information! Life saving no doubt! Thank God for these true doctors aka “teachers of health!” They are helping humanity find healing with these truths!
Try a functional medical doctor. Find one that has a machine you out your hand on to test formaldehyde, histamine, candita... ❤
After many years trying expensive, complicated protocols for gut health- I found what works best for me:
1) eat 1 small organic apple per day
2) avoid gmo’s as much as possible
3) avoid processed foods as much as possible
4) cook with only olive & avocado oil
5) no canned soft drinks of any kind- lemon water, coffee, tea only
Very enjoyable and educational programme.
I’ve been so patient and don’t want to live in fear of emitting an odd odor due to an underlying health issue. i don’t think I smell, but people around me are hinting at it :(
Please let us follow your way back to gut health 🙏
Hang in there! 4 months after my 3rd set of Covid symptoms, I had 8 weeks of unreal gut changes. I was afraid to leave home and “luckily” was not working at that time. I finally went to my TCM doctor and my body returned to normal health within 2-3 days.
@@amorris0419 what herbs used madam
@@karenmartin4364 hi! I’m not certain of the formulation. Traditional Chinese Medicine factors in meridians, pulse of our organs, color of our tongue and eyes along with reported symptoms. If you live somewhere near a TCM college, there are professors who are available at the college clinic (think of a teaching hospital or clinic), who can assist you. I wish you the best… 😀
I've heard that taking a chlorophyll supplement can help with deodorizing body odors. My friend takes a liquid one. But i also imagine it's related to general diet. Good luck!
Wow! This was absolutely amazing, potentially life changing....to be continued! Thanks Rich & Dr. B
Dr. B, I was totally impressed by you final talking points about the young woman who was having difficulties and due to job change she was able to fix her problems. Thumbs up to both of you for this interview which was extremely informative and helpful. Thanks 🙏
Finding this was no accident. I am blown away by this fantastic information. It is priceless.
So grateful for this video. Thank you so much..

Absolutely sensational and insightful podcast. You both make an awesome team. With immense thanks for all of this important info. 🙏
1:25:43 Interesting, I don’t think broccoli tastes bitter, or maybe I just enjoy bitter foods? I love black coffee, dark chocolate, and kale. I enjoy vinegary things like dill pickles
Thank you Dr B, you’ve cleared my dilemma non carnivorous diet and insulin resistance. You are very great! I shall be fibre fuelled from now!!!
