While others find things to fear, Jon finds things to exploit. I’ve watched the UFC for decades now. And for me, Jones is on a another realm compared to any other potential GOAT. The “scariest auras” the UFC has ever seen, like Anderson, Couture, GSP, DC (…) weren’t able to be as consistent as Jones’. As a fan of Jones, I want (pretty badly) to ser him fight Tom Aspinall. But I reckon the majority of people who claim to have interest in watching this fight are just completely desperate to see Jones lose. People just can’t stand a “bad guy” being the GOAT of a sport. Fedor was rubbish in a cage, most of his wins were in a boxing style ring.
Jon is easy to describe... Is not just complete but is really good at everything he does, has insane genetics giving him a huge reach advantage much of the time, has natural fight IQ and killer instinct, kicks and elbows like no one else in the game, and is nearly impossible to strategize against because he has more tactics at his disposal than anyone he's fighting. To beat him it needs to be a very well rounded fighter who is on his A game the entire time and so far it hasn't happened definitively. Rampage said he was in the best shape of his entire life going in to the ring with Jon and his conditioning and confidence was just nowhere near enough. Jon was basically always at an advantage over the era he fought because he was ahead of his time.

Jon wont let Stipe get close. Jones is a master at using his long legs to keep his opponents at bay. His front kick is used quite often to keep people from getting too close and Jon is a master at kicking the knee cap of his opponents and doing serious damage. If Stipe gets within striking distance, Jones is going to light Stipe up with elbows and knees. I don't see this turning out too well for Stipe.

Is not just complete but is really good at everything he does, has insane genetics giving him a huge reach advantage much of the time, has natural fight IQ and killer instinct, kicks and elbows like no one else in the game, and is nearly impossible to strategize against because he has more tactics at his disposal than anyone he's fighting. To beat him it needs to be a very well rounded fighter who is on his A game the entire time and so far it hasn't happened definitively. Rampage said he was in the best shape of his entire life going in to the ring with Jon and his conditioning and confidence was just nowhere near enough. Jon was basically always at an advantage over the era he fought because he was ahead of his time.
