My favorite fight here is probably the thiago santos fight because it was an elite display of jon's kickboxing and mauy thai. He's like if Izzy has better defense, employed more elbows, knees, teep kicks and oblique/side kicks. Jon doesn't have the back dexterity to do the pull back like izzy but he understands range very well he knows where he's in danger and when he can coast

Except khabib never took steroids and is actually the same height and weight as most his division
Jon’s early career sure he was a legit 205er blessed with the frame to use his height and reach but cmon eventually he shoulda been fighting heavyweights a long ass time ago he’s been walking round at 240 for years same weight the best heavyweight champions ever fought at.. Cain and stipe both fought at 240 and didn’t cut shit cause they were legit the best regardless of size Jon is 6 foot 4 with an 84 inch reach the longest in the entire sport and cause he’s got chicken legs he can cut to 205 and dominate smaller men ... he will never be the goat till he wins that heavyweight belt and does it clean then i will admit it not until then💯

Here's my thing. People who hate jones sit there and ride the band wagon with every other jones hater when they say Reyes "definitely" won. It was a good fight, technically speaking it wasn't a close one, there's a reason there's championship rounds. Realistically Reyes had round 3 in the bag, they exchanged 1 and 2, and Reyes had a decent start in round 4 but ultimately took some VERY hard hits. Then was dominated in round 5, not including the take downs. As for gustafsson THAT was a close fight, very close fight. But again, in both round 4 and 5 jon dominated and in the beginning rounds they exchanged quite a bit, they were both hurt. Hence a split decision. You can all hate jon all you want for his personal life, but as a fighter this guy is the best in the ufc, and it's not an argument.

I remember watching Jon Jones early on in his insane title run. The resume of this man is probably the most impressive in UFC LHW history. It was clear he was an insanely talented fighter. Then watching him on Ultimate Fighter, he seemed like such a mature and genuinely kind person. He was a great leader to the guys he was coaching. It really seemed for a while like he had it all, save a few blemishes. It’s sad that he made so many poor decisions in the public eye that ruined that reputation. Otherwise, he absolutely would be widely considered the GOAT without question.
