@@nickkleiber8636 i mean 'Hardwired…To Self-Destruct' is what i consider as a newer album being it was released within the last decade and its just the new sounding metallica as opposed to the 80's or 90's sounding metallica
With the release of the album “Death Magnetic” in 2008 it gave us hope they were returning to their more thrashy roots, which was absolutely solidified with the release of Hardwired in 2016 featuring tracks like Spit Out The Bone, Hardwired, Moth into Flame etc. Their modern sound comes across as over produced in comparison to their early records but that’s just down to keeping with the times. Would definitely recommend going into some live version reactions for their more recent releases so you can see how they still bring the Metallica energy 40 years on 🤘🏻
I didn't like Death Magnetic much. It was the most forced thing they have ever done IMO. You could totally tell the whole "going back to roots" thing. Everything similar to the good old days but just nowhere near as good. I respect even St Anger more. Hardwired and 72S aren't amazing or anything but they didn't suffer from this problem.
The whole album is great. Some of their best shit since Load and Reload. (Yeah. I'm one of those.) I could listen to this album on repeat for hours >.>
@@peterworth9403 I think there are a few good tracks on each Metallica album after the Black album. So I think the hatred towards the totality of Metallica's music post black album is exaggerated and naive.
@Metal_Mary I'd love to play a harmony on that solo with my old band, but we all gotscattered around the US and my singer, rhythm guitarst and bassist are working on their 2nd and 3rd kids 😂 Playing still makes me happy, easy fun songs are always great but solos like this give goosebumps so bad it makes me plug in as soon as I'm home.
This song is just as good as much of the older stuff. Song is from 2016. Don´t care what people says, you react to as much Metallica as you want. :) I would actually say that Metallica is a very big part of your very rapidly growing channel, together with you doing a great job of course.
Yep! I’m always down for Metallica reactions and his is probably the best album ones out there! It’s so great to see someone so young enjoying Metallica! I raised my boys on them (they didn’t have a choice)
This is a perfect Metallica song! I absitivly posilutely LOVE IT!!! You mentioned St. Anger and I gotta say, it helps to know a little bit about what was going on with the band at the time to really get it. Jason had just left, James was in rehab and nobody knew if there was gonna be a Metallica anymore. For all intents and purposes, that album was working therapy. They still had no bass player, their producer Bob Rock had to fill in. They picked up Rob Trujillo just before the album dropped. He’s now been the bass player the longest of the 3. Time flies! Rob is a BEAST! The last 3 albums have brought the older sound and feeling back in a big way.👍
10:31 LOL that face change when you realized theres a second solo 🤣 priceless. Was waiting for that part. This song goes so hard. One of metallicas greatest newest masterpieces 🔥🔥🔥🤟
They definitely are.... But he's hardly touched Kill em all yet which is really puzzling as it's much better than most of the Metallica he's been doing lately.
Don't listen to anybody who tells you to ignore any of their albums! I love their whole catalog and have their newest album "72 Seasons" on repeat basically. Definitely form your own opinion like you have been doing!
I'm glad you mentioned St Anger on this. They made a movie/documentary about the making of the St Anger album called Some Kind of Monster, well worth a watch and gives the album context in regards to the sound of it
Absolute banger song and reaction Molly 👐 No matter what people say... Each album has its own story behind it and personality..They just are something else ✌️
Can’t say this is my favourite thing Metallica have ever done. But it’s really cool to see someone relatively new to them like yourself enjoying it Never listen to people telling you “don’t try this, don’t try that..” Dip your toe into everything that takes your attention. The only way I discovered 80% of the music I listen to was by checking out recommendations and then, when I found something I liked, going back and delving into the people who influenced them
I do like the full guitar harmonization at the songs 4:00 mark, its got a nice nostalgic sound that shows where they are in their lives and careers but still as a heavy jam quality to it. Its one of their best riffs on the last few albums.
💥Metallica!!! Yesss please! Monday Bangers! This is my jam! Fast quick, drums are fkn sick, solos between Kirk n James.. vocals..come on it's Papa Het!! I have been known to speed on this one! Thankfully its in the desert & I havent been caught, yet! 😆 I love Hardwired to self-destruct & Death Magnetic. There's so many great song's on them. I really hope you enjoy it! Thank you Molls! ❤️🔥🤘〽️😁
I'm old-school Metallica. this one is a thrash banger!! it stands up with anything on ...and Justice for all album. I play guitar and this song is just as thrashy to play as any of their old stuff. Dip your toes into their later album Death Magnetic ("Their Return to the Old Thrash Days album") and try a song off it called Broken, beat and Scared. There are a few good riffs on that song. the last 3 minutes of thrash riff work from James and Kirk is so good to play on guitar.
These guys changed everything for me way back. I was late to the metal community, didn't get into it until the late 80s and this band did it! Wasn't easy. "One" was the 1st song I heard, and my reaction? What the hell is this and the dude can't sing! 3 months later I had all their stuff up to that point (...And Justice For All) and had saw them live. Ain't been easy to stick with 'em at times but I"m still here!

I am a long time Metallica fan (40 years) and I love the old stuff, but I also love the new very well produced new stuff (my only complaint is they compressed Death Magnetic to within an inch of it's life, but that's another story). Metallica is still important to me, which is saying something for the band, and how they have evolved. If you want another banger, check out Hardwired from the same album, and, as always, great video mate!
