I saw Metallica open for Ozzy August 1986 tragically 1 month later one of the most talented bassist was tragically taken from us. It was a horrible day that ill never forget!! All the metal radio stations, MTV and headbangers ball etc..were all in remorse over the news. I cried so much, and then the thoughts... its over man. All news people were saying it....But Metallica said, No, we ain't done! We'll Never stop because we're Metallica!! I seen them 88 -89 AJFA tour...with Jason Newstead and it was killer, But I couldn't stop thinking about Cliff 😢. It was hard to swallow. But i kept with the boys, and i still love them as much as i did at 17-18. ❤🤘
I saw that tour, also. Just a little before you in Fort Worth. Cliff's death was a huge bummer, and I'm glad the guys carried on, but I'm really glad I got to see Cliff, even just that once.
I saw them perform this live in the late 90s, I recognized the song from the first moments, and still I finished that guitar solo wishing I could rewind and hear it again.

Seattle 92 and metallica decided to place rows of connected chairs where the mosh pit and general admission should be. Bad idea and we weren't having it. As soon as the lights went out to start the show, people flowed like water from the grandstands and rows of chairs were being passed overhead. If you didn't keep up and pass them behind you, you were catching a row of chairs with your teeth. The massive 25 foot tall pile of chairs in the back of the arena was a cool sight. Great fun.
First time I saw them was on the And Justice For All tour in Hawaii They played their hearts out and at the end of the night James sang “ we’ll never stop we’ll never quit because YOU’RE Metallica “ the crowd gave a massive yell back Every one in the band was smiling throwing picks and drum sticks as they left the stage .Watch Seattle 89 it captures the feeling exactly.
