    Nice upgrade!!! I have same cpu the i9 10900k but i got a 4080, I packed everything in a lianli xl case, so I did not spare on room 😅, keep up the good work I love your monitor looks so cool 👍🏻

    It doesn't mean it actively uses that much ram even if it's completely full. Some games will like to fill the Vram as much as they can but when you actually reduce the VRAM available, you'll see they still max the vram, but you won't notice fps drops due to ram data switching. It's only when you actually see fps drops can you say oh this game requires this much vram at these settings. Any game coded in such a way can fill vram buffer in case it gets used.

      I agree I had always the game in the red above my maximum ram capacity but you run into issues sometimes fps drops

      Doesnt tlou just reduce the textures when vram fills up?

    • @MatarTechPC
      @MatarTechPC  11 месяцев назад +1

      @@mgguner yes reducing textures will lower VRAM requirements, and in the cases where you’ve pushed the settings beyond the VRAM limit your GPU needs to dump information from the VRAM and reload new ones and that’s causes latency and frame drops

      @@MatarTechPCI believe he’s saying that TLOU will adjust texture quality, when the card runs out of VRAM. I remember using the Hi-Res texture pack for Fallout 4. My GPU of that time only had 3GB of VRAM. Indoor sections had a fog effect to block out things in the distance.

      @@mgguner Honestly I don't know of any game that does dynamic texture quality depending on fps. Most does dynamic resolution, and that ends up helping vram requirements, but that's silly to enable that option just for textures.

    Hi Sorry @ 0:52 i meant GPU and @ 3:22 i meant CPU

    It's 50/50 as to who's to blame, the game and the devs or Nvidia. Nvidia should never have released the 30 series which the amounts of Vram they had, I had a 3080 10gb and play at 4k, and even today the card can blitz through any game at high or ultra, well it would if it had 16gb like the 6800XT. I ended up with a 4090, so yeah Nvidia get a huge chunk of money from me, but I have more Vram than any game needs, by a long shot, so I won't be upgrading early, if I had have just gotten a 3090 this issue would have been avoided. But at the time 24gb was stupid, and 10gb seemed alright. As for the game, Naughty Dog obviously optimized it since, but it still uses around 12gb at 4k Ultra without DLSS.
    An argument could be made even the 4080 with 16gb isn't enough, but I don't think 16gb will just get chewed through anytime soon without 4k texture packs or insanely poorly optimized games assisting it. It also bothers me how much "background vram" is used by games, my PC says 1.5gb is used by default because of having a 2 monitors at 152hz, one 4k and one 1440p hooked up, so why do some games tell me that 2-2.5gb is being used?

      So true games are so poorly optimized and Nvidia should have added more ram for 3 series like u said it’s always money as 4K now minimum is 16GB and might not be enough in some games as for me @3440x1440 so far I am at the edge , and that’s will Dlss

    You should test Hogwarts legacy with maxed out settings and RT to see if you run out of Vram. I'm playing with some what similar setup.

      I did I can run maxed out with RT on about 88fps to 100fps depending on where you are
