Your photography is at another level! This type of instructional, no nonsense video, is exactly the type of educational informative content that helps me grow. Thank you very much Gavin.
The images are stunning Gavin and I’m really pleased that your giving us the info of just what your having to to to the raw image, and I’m seeing a ghost wolf in the cave 👍🏽
Love 'Collapse of An Empire'...and the 'critter' in the ice cave looks like a white fox, or dog, or something (love that shot). I'll stand in for Brent for you sometime, lol. That star trails image is fab.
Thank you for putting this video together. I learned a lot and thoroughly enjoyed it. I would love to see a lot more videos like this from you. In the images of Brent and the Ice Cave...I think the top of that ice column looks like a cure Kitty Cat. Knowing how much you love your cats I'm betting you see the same thing. Thanks again for putting this video together.
Husky or wolf in the ice. Love all of these. And could not care less that some are composites over different days. It's all your work. That's all that matters.
I love the "Emerald Pool" image. The structure of branches and ice looks like a dragon who is the guardian of the pool. This image has so much details to discover. The other images are great too, but this is my favourite ;-)
Thanks Gavin! Some great advice! I've been wondering about the technique on star trails and this vid has completely solved that mystery for me, thank you!
Your vid was, as always, a welcome addition to my preffered content consumption. You'd mentioned some subscribers brought out that they were not seeing notifications. It may be my unique experience, but as a friendly fyi, I find it common not to see notifications immediately on posting of videos. In example, this video didn't shoot me a notification untill 12 hours after its posted time. That's quite a delay in this day. I'll also share a blip I see quite often on any post that begins audio right at the start. The first word or two of the narration is always clipped. It seems on the start of playback, YT takes a brief second before it brings audio up. Again, this may be unique to my experience, but because of it, I feel it is a good practice to begin narration after the first second on the timeline.
This winter has been a struggle. The spring cannot arrive fast enough Gavin!!. It's great to see you got the struggles others do too. Really comforting at this time. I think that photo was a fine fix to get the reflection. Perfectly fine, and necessary to bring out the experience of being there.
Great video! I especially appreciate the location points of focus in the Emerald Pool segment. Sometimes it’s hard to figure out where and why to place focus points for a newbie. ❤❤😊
I did enjoy this!!! Your images are awesome. The ice stalagmite looks like a puppy dog. About waiting for the freight train to come, a while back I went to our local train station and asked about train schedules. They had the schedules for Amtrak, passenger trains, and the VRE, commuter trains, but nothing for freight trains. I asked the station manager when the freight trains come through. He said, "whenever they feel like it," LOL. Thanks for showing us some tips!!!
Thanks Ol Gavin , love those winter images , I give each one of them 100% 👍 . You’re a true inspiration to a person who loves photography and a real help to a beginner like me who has the gear but fall a little short on how to . Keep on smiling Amanda & Gavin Ol Scotty Kansas City
All your images are drool worthy! I saw a dog in the ice cave and back at 3:45 there appears to be the silhouette of a moose or deer next ro the cabin. Thnx for the tutes!
I love this video! You had so many good tips for shooting and Photoshop. I was really inspired by your images to get back out and take pictures. Thanks!
Loved it. I'm a sucker for winter images anyway, but seeing some of your older ones from the rockies again was a nice bit of nostalgia as well. I'll need to go look in the book for that train shot though... not sure I ever spotted what was done!
Some gorgeous images I don't remember having seen from you before. A simple solution to the shot at 14:22 is to use an Olympus (or Panasonic) with Live Composite. The Oly OM1 for example will take a base image for exposure and then automatically take as many subsequent images as you want (until you feel it's enough and stop it) stacking only the extra light from each image onto the base image. So e.g. 2,000 shots stacked, and spit out a RAW composite file for you. Magic.
Hi Gavin: The object to the right of Brent looks like a fox or bear cub head. Your shot at the Emerald Lake Lodge inspired me to go there myself. You have inspired twice; once here and a second time at the Fairy Tree. Cheers, Keith (Barrie, Ontario)
What a terrific way to celebrate the end of winter. I notice that there weren't any Nova Scotia winter shots in the collection. I guess those are to come.

Have Amanda sign ours too! 👌 You folks are awesome~🤝
I too saw a dog's face
I came into the comments to make fun of you. But nothing sarcastic today from me, great images man! The waveshot is stunning!
Cheers mate :)
WOW! Most of those I haven’t seen before. The selfie star trail image is mind-blowing brilliant.
I don’t know why you’re glad winter is over. With shots like that, I’d be happy if winter was all year round. The star trail gets my vote. Top drawer👍
Maybe if I lived in Iceland ;)
I see a dog. The images are amazing Gavin. !!!
Your photography is at another level! This type of instructional, no nonsense video, is exactly the type of educational informative content that helps me grow. Thank you very much Gavin.
It's a dog's face. Great video - very inspiring. We are about to come into Winter in New Zealand.
Fantastic ! Only one problem, now you've got me waiting for winter again. Good Grief
Wonderful video, and the images are just magnificent! Some might even say, "Magnifique"
I saw a dog immediately. Also on previous photo of waterfall, I saw a dog sitting on the side of the water too
The images are stunning Gavin and I’m really pleased that your giving us the info of just what your having to to to the raw image, and I’m seeing a ghost wolf in the cave 👍🏽
Wow, that stalagmite photo with Brent’s exhalation is literally breathtaking photography!
Love 'Collapse of An Empire'...and the 'critter' in the ice cave looks like a white fox, or dog, or something (love that shot). I'll stand in for Brent for you sometime, lol. That star trails image is fab.
The best winter photography I have seen, great work.
As a Yorkshireman I have to say your videos are [could add some Yorkshire profanity here] brilliant!
Thank you for putting this video together. I learned a lot and thoroughly enjoyed it. I would love to see a lot more videos like this from you.

Superb photos Gavin. We saw a wolf in the ice❄️👌
Some fantastic winter images Gavin. Nice going.
I noticed the shadow missing from the train almost immediately and absolutely love the train image.
Spectacular winter images Gavin. And thanks for the tips.
Dude, I love your images! Thanks for sharing these and discussing the approaches to refine/edit those.
I like the ice dog in the emerald pool shot. Overlooking the pool from the left.
Love the emerald pool photo, it looks like there is a sphinx guarding the pool, on the left hand side where the ice has formed over the branches!!
Awesome collection of images 👍. The ‘galaxy’ is great.
This was a really great video to watch!! So enjoyable and the images were absolutely amazing. Thanks Gavin!
oof these are spectacular Gavin !!
I love the "Emerald Pool" image. The structure of branches and ice looks like a dragon who is the guardian of the pool. This image has so much details to discover. The other images are great too, but this is my favourite ;-)
Beautiful images, Gavin!! I LOVED them all ♥️

Anybody else see a little ice dragon perched to the left on the photo "Emerald Pool"? Great video as always, thanks.
".....just being a twat", glorious tea spitting start to the day 😂
Loved the superman’s hide out with the stalagmites 👏👏👏
Great photos. nice of you to share how you edit in photoshop
The star trail thing has me intrigued. Now I have to go somewhere dark enough to see the stars.
Similar to the green pool at the frozen waterfall, I am green with envy!
That star trail photo is truly one of the best landscape photos I have ever seen.
I literally said “Wow!” when that popped up. Great stuff!
Gavin, you are an amazing educator and such a source of inspiration. ♥

Yeah, usually I go on a trip but this year we homebound due to the state of the house.
OMG, the star trails selfie is amazing!
Awesome set of images Gavin. Didn’t know that opacity trick on the star stacking 😊
Look forward to seeing your videos each week...
I think the ice stalagmite looks like the head of a Huskie (dog)
A Husky's face in the ice.
Tresmegwafiqua (new favourite 🤣)
Great video! I especially appreciate the location points of focus in the Emerald Pool segment. Sometimes it’s hard to figure out where and why to place focus points for a newbie.

I saw a wolf…
Thanks for the video it was super interesting and informative 👍🏻
One of your best videos Gavin! Many of us know these secrets but you confirm how to do them. Thanks for sharing!!
Fantastic images… Truly tresmendous!
That house shot kind of reminds me of the paintings of Thomas KInkade, but you know, good.
The frozen bubble image was incredible.....and kinda cute, but a bit different, from the stalagmites that you like.😂
Definitely a cute husky
Stunning photos Gavin !! Love the winter shots and the doggie in the ice.
Dogiccle :-) some stunning shots there Pal... looks freezing tho, so glad I'm here in sub tropical Ireland :-)
heheheh
Now we have to wait for another year to copy those gorgeous shots ❤
all the pics were really cool - i especially liked the 2nd one and collapse of empire and of course the moonglow
Wow, what a selection of stunning images. 😮 … The stalagmite in the ice cave resembles the face of a little dog. Great video, …😊
Dare I say... a unicorn, with a very short horn. Great photo's as always.
Love that shot at Mt. Rundle...stunning image!
Beautiful Emerald Pool. Snow ice on left looks like an animal head. 👌
Masterpiece photography ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🥰
That shape from the cave looks like the face of a Husky (dog). Wonderful shot.
I see a dog… pretty cool!
Thanks Ol Gavin , love those winter images , I give each one of them 100% 👍 . You’re a true inspiration to a person who loves photography and a real help to a beginner like me who has the gear but fall a little short on how to .
Keep on smiling Amanda & Gavin

Collapse of an empire….spectacular! Great video and very useful advice. Thank you. 👏👏👏
Thanks for another great vlog and stunning winter images, and I hope some if not all have made your 2nd book...Keep up the great work Gavin.
Picture with the train!! I love!❤ Fantasticio Gavin!
"Colapse of an empire" is an amazing image (but you already know it) Vraiment magnifique !
That first shot is stupendous Gavin . Summer down under 70 out of 90 day's we've had rain in Brisbane.....
All your images are drool worthy! I saw a dog in the ice cave and back at 3:45 there appears to be the silhouette of a moose or deer next ro the cabin. Thnx for the tutes!
🥰 Emerald pool, I see a roe deer taking a jump 😊 9:12
amazing photography, as you point out there is processing done but you have to see the composition in the beginning and visualise the final image
Yes, many images from my home province of Alberta.
Husky for sure!
Yes, a husky
Hi Gavin, all images are perfect, but the one with star trails is out of this world. Well done, mate.
I love this video! You had so many good tips for shooting and Photoshop. I was really inspired by your images to get back out and take pictures. Thanks!
Stunning winter Images! ❤👍

Love the F-64 shirt. Great content today, learned some stuff. Keep em coming.
You caught the ice dog on the left side of the Emerald pool perfect
Awesome images! I think I like Emerald Pool the best, closely followed by Moon Glow. Was thinking wolf face in the stalagmite.
Absolutely love this. Your tips are always helpful. Brent is my hero too.
Love that train image.

Gavin, all of these images are incredible.
Thank you for this great video. Lots of beautiful and powerful images with creative tips on technique.
Beautiful pics Gavin and very well explained! Thank you so much.
You also missed a sitting dragon in the waterfall pool photo at 8min 30sec
Lots of good images there, Gavin. I think my favorite was the one with the seabirds in it. That is a fabulous shot.
Bravo mistro , bravo.
What a terrific way to celebrate the end of winter. I notice that there weren't any Nova Scotia winter shots in the collection. I guess those are to come.
Maybe next year
