Suicide Commandos "Make a Record" is a great album but I agree with you about the front cover. Don't forget about "The Incredible Shrinking Dickies" lp. I can't decide if it's great or corny. Talking Heads "More Songs about Buildings and Food" lp was comprised of several hundred photos. Especially the back cover. Enjoy a few beers while listening to The Ramones. I think the "Rocket to Russia" cover is as iconic and great myself along with "Never Mind the Bollocks".

Rich, I was around twelve when that Beatles album was released, and that was the first thing I noticed about George. I’ve been disturbed by that ever since. That Patti Smith cover has been a favourite of hairy girl lovers everywhere. Cheers.

I played that record to death in those early years of Black Sabbath, along with Paranoid and Master of Reality. At some point, I got sick of their music and gave the latter two albums away. But I kept the first one just for the cover. After so long, the cover was faded beyond recognition. So, I bought the reissue for the cover image and have never taken the record out once! Talk about obsession!! I think that witch put a spell on me.
That witch indeed did put a spell on you. The first three Sabbath are my favorites. I went a couple of decades without listening to Black Sabbath. Now, I listen to the first two a few times a year.
You are spot on with the Beatles one. That truly is awful. I didn't know Eric Burdon was a part of War!? Now I need to know. There really should be scratch 'n' sniffs on records. (especially armpits) Did you create the thumbnail or did RUclips do it ramdomly? Frank Zappa has hits and mehs. That one is a hit and the cover looks good. Nice combo. Funny. The Poison Idea album cover is good. It's Iron Maiden, Sid Vicious, Exciter, The Damned, Morbid Angel, Deicide, The Germs, etc. There's a piece of me who thinks GG Allin saw this and said, "Hey! I'm doing that to the max". Which is at number 11. That album cover may have destroyed that man's life and career. Could've also been schizophrenia. Great showing and cheers!

Beatles have tons of iconic covers but you are correct they have some clunkers I hate the White album cover That must’ve taken years to come up with LoL! Hell you can barely see the bands name. That Tubes album cover is very cool and I think it has White Punks on Dope which is killer! Not a fan of Patty Smith or that cover I’ll prolly take some heat for that statement Haha! The Blue Mt Eagle is a cool album and I dig the cover. Any cover that has the camera looking up or down on the band I like That must have been a 60’s thing. Great picks Pat, I thought that Black Sabbath first cover was taken at a water mill near mine in Suffolk and actualy went there to see where it was taken but it's a similar mill in Oxfordshire on the River Thames. Spookily your video has 666 views currently! I love Frank Zappa's Hot Rats cover, the first album I bought myself. So many good and bad covers you could do a video fro each year or decade?

Beatles had many hip covers, but Yesterday and Today looks like a Kingston Trio album from '59. Bowie had great album art, but Lodger is disturbing, like a crime scene photo. Neon Park's art is fantastic...Weasels is the first one I saw. The World is a Ghetto is the best War cover and a helluva record....Go Dodgers!
That Black Sabbath cover pretty much visually represents the music perfectly. I'm with you - Lodger is a terrible cover. Yup - I hate that War cover also.
I've been thinking of doing this topic myself but I'm opinionated. My favorite here is the first Black Sabbath. I agree with most of your views but I think the Velvet Underground cover is worse than the Beatle cover.
The Scandinavian cover for Paranoid is much better than the US cover, it uses a smaller picture of the first album surrounded by psychedelic swirls. Soft Boys, great album, crappy cover! Cal Schenkel was the artist on Zappa's early albums. Patti needs to shave those pits!
That's actually the Switzerland edition. The Scandinavian cover is the same as the rest of the Paranoids. I do agree it is a very nice cover with those fonts!
I think the Diamond Dogs cover is cool. The T Rex cover is interesting. If it came out in the 80s you would indeed expect something pretty heavy. I think a little over half of it rocks. Some of the other songs are down right wimpy.
I think some are deliberately bad trying to be that way. Counter culture. Is Bollocks word actually much known in US? Not a fan of armpits no fetish here 😅 it's an equally good album to the other Patti you showed.
Lou Reed's Ecstasy is the worst cover of all time. The story behind the photo makes it much worse. I'll leave it at that. My uncle had the first Black Sabbath record and the cover used to put the shits up me when I was a kid. It took me quite a while to get up the nerve to ask to hear it. It definitely sounds like it looks. You can send me the Raincoats if it's an OG.

Eric Burdon and War had a hit with Spill The Wine. People that know GG said he really changed after getting out of prison.

I saw Laurie Anderson live in the early 80s. It was a very visual show.
The location where they shot that first Sabbath cover basically still looks the same but these days it's a lovely tourist spot with a family centre.
