Go to a muffler shop and get your car up in the air. In the middle under the car is a huge long tube, have them cut it out and just weld in a 2.5 inch pipe in its place.
Nice comparison. I see your from the ABQ...me too. I just picked up a 2014 ST3 and was thinking about the muffler delete. Would love to actually hear the muffler delete in person. Maybe I'll catch you in the parking lot at work some day. LOL

Hello ,hey well i have a question for you that you seem to know a lot more than me and its that if have a broken blow off valve does that affect the pressure in getting boost pressure ?
Hey, I was curious if you guys got any more top end (higher RPM boost) once you removed either the resonator or muffler? I have a 2014 Escape with the 1.6 Ecoboost which I guess is the same engine from what I heard. Anyway I noticed that Ford did good by making a little 4 banger having tons of torque right off of idle but I noticed that it actually seems to loose the power at upper RPM's. I imagine the turbo is just sized rather small for low-mid power but I was curious if removing some of the back pressure behind the turbo would help it spool a tad more at upper RPM's. I turbocharged a Saturn once and when I deleted the muffler my boost went from about 8 to 12 PSI. I don't want my escape necessarily louder but was curious if there was just some more top end to be had. If the muffler / resonator delete doesn't help then I'd know that the turbo is just too small for upper rpm's or it is just Ford's tuning and deleting the muffler ot resonator will do no good for performance. I have an older Mustang GT project car I am in the process of turbo charging which SHOULD quench my desires for performance but I am starting to have a hard time resisting the urge to meddle with my Escape as well. :-/
no the ST has a 2.0 not a 1.6 the turbo is tooo small to get top end power. get a bigger turbo and keep everything else stock and I think you may be happy.
Jason Georgievski Wow they got the 2.0 in those, nice. Removing the muffler on my Saturn that I turbocharged made a huge improvement in top end spool but the turbo obviously had more left in it. The Ford Escape is my daily driver. If I could have squeaked out some more top end with a simple straight pipe I'd do it though. But if it isn't going to help I'll leave it. I'll be trading it in eventually and probably get a 2.0 AWD next time or something bigger again. I'll keep working on my low buck Mustang project to satisfy my urges to tinker. I'm piping in the turbo now. Eventually I'll get to enjoy that 450 Ft Lbs of torque and try not to get in trouble while I'm at it. LOL
I know a muffler delete sounds amazing on a lexus gs300, but what about muffler delete plus KEEP the resonators on? Would it still sound good ? I want to avoid as much drone as i can
