We managed to get a male MC cross that had been returned to the shelter twice. We have enjoyed his presence for about 5yrs now and he is NOT going back. He is smart in ways animals usually are not and trains himself. Like typical MCs he likes to go outside but actually stays in the backyard and comes in when called. He is a MASTER mouser and follows momma around like a dog, never being far away. He will come and get us to clean his litter boxes, open doors or feed him never demanding. He is such a gentleman, the sweetest boy.
They are all beautiful cats. I used to have an American shorthair red tabby cat that was a big cat. He weighed 20 pounds for the longest time. His attitude was liked a Maine Coon cat. I met him when he was a stray cat in late September 1981. He was my special friend for a cat for a little bit over 12 years.
I have a tuxedo MC with classic markings! I Didn’t know he (Charlie) was going to be 18lbs and 3+ ft long as a kitten from a local shelter. Love the big fluff kitties! His buddy is a black female short hair that wandered into my courtyard. She’s (Bee) 8lbs of playful joy. Bee often initiates playful wrestling and Charlie is so gentle with her. Thanks for showing the gentle giants. ❤
Mine is a rescue from the parking lot of the apartment I use to live in about 10 years ago. He’s on the smaller side at about 36” and 14-ish lbs, but he’s as sweet, smart, and gentle as can be. He use to be a big talker making all kinds of noises, even when he was sleeping, which is why I think someone threw him out…lucky me though, I love him to bits.
I got 2 talkers! Absolutely love them! I swear LouLou & I have full blown conversations. It’s like we’re always on the same page. Prinny on the other hand, is my complainer. Prins a tattletale too 😂
I worked at a veterinarian hospital & never seen one before. One morning I came in & one was in a dog's kennel, he weighed 38 lbs, this cat was not fat everything about him was huge.
i'm sure my maine coon will be part of a similar video by the time he's fully grown 😅 he's 6 months old and roughly 75-80cm so we might just have the next world record sized kitty at home :') he's so sweet tho! living with him has been amazing so far

Shut the fuck up. Bringing an animal into your family is adopting either way. Get off your high horse and accept the fact that some people want a certain breed of animal and don't want to deal with the risks that come with a shelter animal.
Countless healthy homeless animals destroyed because of breeders. Less perfect kittens dumped on shelters. Co-opting the term adopting just plain propaganda.

My MC cat is 8.4 kg or 18.5 pounds. She will be 10 years old this year. Female. Her father is over 11kg (more than 24lbs). These are normal MC sizes.
