My mother had six kids none of us are neurotypical and at least four of us are autistic. And after watching the one explaining autism signs in toddlers, I think my older sister has an autistic daughter... so I'm going to relate to a very well lol
4:32 straight up bamboozled me because when I know it’s gonna be autism related I’m like “well looks like it’s not for me” but I have 2 siblings with adhd so I’m like “ya know what let’s try” They literally just called me out
The one with the boy that got the train horn was so sweet. His family was so excited to give that to him and see his reaction, they were really sharing his excitement and it was so good to see how close they all were, I wish every family was so accepting.
the "well Alice it seems like we both got autism haven't we?" is a mood, it's nice to know someone I'm talking is autistic too but at first if we both don't know what to say it's a bit awkward? 🤝🐛 then bonding over infodumping
I like to look at bugs, they are very interesting structurally and often have beautiful colors, but I CANNOT bear the thought of touching them or having them touch me. Not even "pretty" ones like butterflies and ladybugs. It's the little feets and the crawling and the bad tickles. I'll happily look at them. But don't let it touch me.
@@adambomb1553 since writing this a year ago I have made attempts at being a little more brave when interacting with little crawly things. I rescued a baby spider from a classroom at the preschool I work in and I let it hang out on my hand while I took it outside. It was so small I couldn't even feel it. I also made friends with a garden snail by my house after we got some decent rain and let it trail around on my hands. Got some cute pictures too... I want pet snails now.
The one with the housekeeper was so sweet. I'm autistic and adhd and forget to eat a lot. I almost fell down my stairs one day, and it's so thoughtful to make sure someone eats. Especially making it easy to warm up later, because at least for me because of my ED, when I finally go to get food, it's overwhelming and I don't eat.
As someone with ADHD and chronic major/psychotic depression, that last one was super relatable. I'm always finding myself distracted with working on art pieces, instead of the more neurotypical "important things." It's a very hard road to tread. But I feel that if any sort of work makes you happy, even a little bit, you should praise and embrace the effort!!! #nothealthybutcoping

for me, i can't even get my hands wet... but you have to as a clean human... when they start to prune up i feel SICK. feels like nails on a chalkboard idk why
i found a pair of rubber gloves with like, a scrubber side on them and that's been a game changer for washing dishes! it was always sensory hell for me too and now that's mitigated considerably!

I wanna yeet people that come at me with the "I'm probably a little bit autistic". Probably the same frustration an OCD sufferer feels when someone who is slightly particular about things says "I'm a little OCD about this". I have to rehearse everything I say. I have to think about how I walk, how I talk, "is this too much eye contact, or not enough". "Did I offend that person by giving them a compliment, should I stop giving compliments?" "Damn it, I just mimicked their accent...STOP DOING THAT!" "Wait, what is my accent, where did it go? Oh now I just sound like a caricature of myself" "I can focus more on reading if I rock back and forth...and somebody is looking...stop rocking back and forth...stop reading"
Okay so I think I'm on the spectrum, but not as much as others " a little autistic" because I display several symptoms, but compared to others it's not bad and I can still function, and yet I completely relate to everything you just said, from eye contact to accents to sitting still. Imput?
@@eliyahmcneill9302 Autism is a spectrum so you could just be on the spectrum. Everyone's autism is different, some people have more difficulty in functioning than others. But being autistic means you are 100% on the spectrum, you can't be on it more or less than others. Hope this helps! And I hope I didn't come off as rude or disrespectful. :)
No wonder I’m so burnt out ALL the time. In high school, someone told me I had a “monotone”/robotic voice, and I’ve worked really hard to fix it in EVERY situation I’m in.
I just wanted to say that I’m so happy to finally see some tiktoks from drawingsbytrent!!
