The baton is the best/most survivable melee weapon. Several times Josh would have been killed with any other weapon. But yeah the baton ONLY sucks like any melee weapon without guns would. I'd love to see a series where he uses batons (mostly for cc, 1:1 and bears) and other weapons to finish them off.
This was a surprisingly good series. Didn't die, took on the worst POIs possible and while it was sometimes painful watching you repeatedly slap them with the baton over and over and over and over. What was I saying? Oh, yeah, it was fun. Yay.
I’m betting that now you’ll keep a baton on hand as a back up specifically for those situations where you need crowd control. But I’ll bet you’re happy to get back to using guns again.
Next series? I think it would fun to see you run (like the movie) "Preacher with a Shotgun". So, shotguns only. But game twist, each week, nighttime last 2 hours longer. During the day, everything walks, but at night, everything runs.
Damn, I loaded this up and it was after the horde for the base farewell. For Terrys though, need 4 or even 6 so you can pick up an empty, chuck down a full one, then worry about reloading.
I totally get that they're just not the weapon he enjoys, and it's good that he acknowledges now that they don't suck whatsoever anymore. The only thing I don't understand is how his analysis of them after this series is completely backwards. They're the most effective late game melee weapon and shine the most against large hordes, yet Woodle says he can see them being the best melee 1v1 and in the early game instead, maybe as his way of compromise. I can't understand how he's come to that conclusion. Baffles me.
The skill trees in general need to be redone. Most of the aspects don't make any sense to start, you shouldn't be forced to play a certain weapon or armor just because you want some of the additional perks that are useful for everything else. If they are going to do this tree thing then there needs to be a lot more thinking it out. Something like a Melee, Stealth, Ranged trees for weapons then something for the "intellect" perks and one for the farmer/miner perks, and maybe something for the armor perks as well as things that might match up with them like agility etc.
You know, it's fine if you don't love batons. If you don't sit there and drag INT tree players through the grime any more, I think that would be enough.
Intellect is always far better when you play multiplayer, you can focus on the turrets while others get up close to the zombies. On solo play I'd rather an M60 or a shotty
I always run max turrets. Whatever else I'm using as a main. I also always build a catwalk attached to my bunker. 3 Terry's firing on my bunker from the rear of the horde at my window. I always have a sledgie boy working my pole. So I know if I start to one side, I can watch my turrets cycle. If it goes from left to right, when the right side is done I know all 3 are out of ammo. I can access my catwalks and reload my turrets and it doesn't break the pathing. They still want to come through my bunker window. Gives me max dps and doesn't tickle nips.
I liked Vanity Tower so much I'm currently restoring one inside and out from the 3'rd floor apartments and up. Started in the Winter biome and by Day 9 cleared it out for the new management.
opinions are like a$$holes, everyone has one and they all stink. fun series. batons just aren't your playstyle and that's fine, but it is fair to say they are not garbage and the are not the worst weapon.
I appreciate that you stuck to your word and gave the batons a proper shot. Looking forward to the next one!
Batons, clubs, knives, shottys....it's all good when they're being used by our fav muppet

And never even really came close to dying!
STUN BATONS WILL FOREVER BE THE BEST !!!
I think the remaining mystery of the series: where the heck are the rest of the books?

As a long time club user, I have been enjoying the spear lately.
Iy was a Nice change of Pace you always run shotguns It was nice to see something other then a shotgun Smg M60 anything but shotguns
Like the crossbow which Woodle no longer hates, the result of this will be the same for batons.
So, today we learned the answer to "IF!!!" And that answer, is no.
I usually start in the intellect tree then respec after i unlock the drone crucible and gyro in the mid game. Then run fortitude

na took him over a year after he found out how good the crossbow was
YELL FOR BIGGER DRUM MAGS FOR TURRETS
Will you still flush the batons with contempt, is the question? 😂
Well done on those cinematic demolition shots! (I know you don't do them very often)
@JaWoodle, all melee weapons struggle in the end game.
Personally I do not like auto-shotty, so I went with smg + baton + turrets.

Batons have their place, but they're not the end all weapon - no weapon is.

Each to their own really, I like you use batons but like you said I run some form of guns to make it viable. Keep up the great work bro 👌👍

It’s a video game weapon choice. Cry harder

What's Terry doing to Dee Dee in the opening scene?
Can't wait to see what is next 😀
I think he should have to do wooden clubs only lol
Bows only next
Woodle-Time!!!
Now it is time for the wet noodle Woodle challenge.
The next series is naked Ja Woodle series, you heard it here first 😈
you done an awesome job as always with the baton. I don't know if you know that your camera cuts out every so offten
Do clubs/machete-only next time please. I'd say with certainty that you wouldn't do that playthrough with one life. Very good series though, thanks
I was hoping you’d play rebirth next
Edit: please build a base on the next series
Can you imagine if one grenade was that strong?
Spears next?
pickaxe time lol
I really do want the "any other melee only" challenge - He'd have died several times swinging only a steel club!
