Oh yeah, drive thru booze. We had them in West Texas. They'd even make you a mix drink and wrap it in a plastic bag so that it's not an "open container." 😂

@lmdirkdiggler7170 Depending on how small/isolated the town is, you could buy a gun just about anywhere. I don't recall seeing guns being sold at liquor stores, but I never really looked for it either. It didn't cross my mind that selling guns everywhere was strange until after I had moved away. I do remember finding it strange that the process for buying my first shotgun was much simpler and faster than the process for getting my first hunting license was.

Fairly common in Georgia too. Along with a few Pharmacy/Gun Stores next door to them.
We call em Brew Throughs in NC. Do recommend. Some even offer bbq, not always good bbq, but some is really good.

In my first Darkness Falls run with my brother, that unnamed POI you got infected at was where I made my first shack to store stuff!
That drive thru liquor POI is one of my goto first bases/camp... concrete all round, 1 garage door and the other one/exit one is locked. I love using it, dig a hole thru the ceiling from inside, that usually only has 2 or 3 zombies in the POI.. Great base start.
My wife literally did the same thing yesterday with the same reasons. Haha
been through 6 cities on my map so far and havent found one yet :( i really LOVED the old big fire stations that they removed awhile ago, they were the go to building even though they were big and expensive to defend

6:57 I like what they did with that construction camp. This is the kind of stuff I like to see. Very creative. Apparently, the excavator operator was either suffering from the virus or lost control of the equipment some other way, demolishing those erstwhile pristine trailers. Great environmental storytelling going on there.

I make 7x7 Outposts like what you built at all the Traders. I put 5 storage between the front supports. I have added a 3x3 outrigger for the Dew Collector. I also Cobble the legs in case of wandering zombie horde.

@@bannankev I somehow manage to find both a toilet pistol and a toilet knife within 2 hours every time someone in my group is running agility, even if I'm not, but if nobody is running agility I never find the knife only a couple pistols. Which are still clutch even when not running agility until you find a decent weapon you're putting points into.

Im a tad disappointed they consider this gold rather than out of alpha and into beta, but it seems good none the less.
Alpha, beta, gold, experimental, stable... Just names to me. I see a fun game that's given me years of entertainment and that's all that's important to me.

The quest tiers and constant threat of the blood moon combined with crafting/building hits all the marks for me. Keeps me involved with the game and wanting to get better.
Would it be great if there was more of a story and further graphical improvements?..of course.
Games been in devs for about a decade, it got to release to fund development.
So I got on today to explore beta 1.0. Early game I came across a tree house P.0.I. just as a small wondering horde came by. With a lvl 1 wooden club in hand and a bone knife for bleed I took a stand in thar tree house thinking I have an advantage over the zombies climbing up ladder to get to me. Sadly, but at lass I trapped myself with no way out as the horde pushed their filthy undead hands, bodies, and endless hunger into me. I cried out to no one “I thought I was safe up here” in a pathetically whiny yet Joker sort of laughter as I died. I had a small laugh as I respawned back into the world determined to reclaim my loss goods. Very much enjoying all the additions in 1.0 7 days to die. I am also very happy to see what story you tell in these awesome professionally done videos you post here on RUclips.

But, it's till unstable.
Reminder that stealth is a nearly worthless perk, due to PoI spawners ignoring your stealth and spawning pseudo-ferals that also ignore your stealth. Your perk points are better spent elsewhere.
Dunno how it's going now, but stealth was pretty well working in A21. Each larger poi usually has only a few of those pesky trap rooms. Dunno about the new pois tho.
The game is not just poi clearing. The stealth is great, I always go for max in my run. And with the new Armor it's op. Combined with robotic so you don't care about spawn traps and some grenades... Awesome! So... Cannot agree, not a bit
I do find it amusing (and worrying about your cognitive thinking skills) whenever youy take a Fetch/Clear quest because im pretty sure you're at about a 95% failure rate on them

Toilet knife was a nice find, I found a toilet pistol and a wrench in first car I looted, suggestion for the fetch quest get the satchel ASAP then loot. I think everyone has left fetch quest and forgot to get the darn thing

Honestly, the biggest hype about this new update for me, has to the new armors & definitely new vehicles. Like the 4x4 monster truck is a beast and a half

I just started today and just decided to do fortitude (usually start with agi/str). I gotta say, bicycle seems a lot more forgiving to use compared to previous update. It slides easier now so you can actually stop pedalling here and then and still maintain top speed. Also random zombie chase during nighttime seems to happen evert 2/3 day. For example if you got ferals group chasing you on day one, chances are you gonna get it again 2 days/3 days after.
So far I got some feral horde just running towards my position and zombie dog group. Nothing crazy.
Also the first mission now always buried treasure lol.
Eva Victed Court POI tells a weird story. Why would someone destroy mobile homes on site with heavy equipment when they can just tow the whole thing away?
Don't think I've ever spent points into parkour when I went dex build. When you can sneak around 1 shotting zombies you don't need to hop up to inaccessible positions. Trigger events excepted, loot rooms always require a fallback point. Though I'm not playing for entertainment purposes, I'd suppose a slow methodical clear would be pretty boring to watch.
Given how much he's using his torch I'm gonna assume the game has gotten a little darker and he's lighting it up a little in post so we can see what's going on.
Even w/o the quest reward you still came out way ahead on that double loot of the crack a book.
I woulda started with the nerd armor that increases magazine points. Faster leveling of the crafting skill w/o increasing gamestage. Yes please!

I downloaded v1.0 experimental and played my first 7DTD for about 7 months ... quite a lot of muscle memory to redevelop!

I live in Pennsylvania and we have many drive through liquor stores but it's more just a beer distributor and not hard alcohol.
We used to have a drive through liquor store/convenience store franchise in Tampa called Beverage Castle. Some of the locations looked like little castles, or well, they tried to make them look like that anyway 😅
Drive Thru liquor stores do exist. In Texas they look like barns. In the old days you could get a "to-go" drink as well. I don't think they do that anymore.

There used to be "Drive-through beer-stores" way down South and even "Drive through Daquiri stores" in New Orleans, La. back in the early 1980's.

All those stores can be dated to about 1985
Before DUI laws about 1985 became VERY profitable to local gov/police/lawyers/ insurance companies/DUI treatment/driving centers/ and MADD NGO's/special interest groups.
Drive Through Beer Stores didn't stand a chance against all that profit, but Drive through Daquiri stands in La. still exist. Don't go there now.
I, got introduced to your channel with Last Act, right before alpha 20, and I, fell in love with your content since then. I've watched pretty much all of your series's fully from there(some dips at points, sorry Tem!) but I've, never fully watched Vanguard. I am, genuinely excited to both watch this new adventure, and head back at some point to see where we came from. Thank you for so many years of good, solid content, and I hope you continue for as many more years as you desire!

That intro was HEAT 🔥, A whole cinematic series in a darker tone would slap
Early game agility is definitely amazing.
Later on is see my buddies stun battons and clubs doing some more work than ide like to get close enough fore specifically against higher numbers of zombies. Though being able to agro jump/run out of reach of zombies and give my buddies a chance to recoup is a big help saved us on hord a couple times then once everything fixed nope back to safety.
Still i find myself a neich ability to sneak one shot bears and hounds with bows and rifles.
Ive turned into the defacto farmer/cook/hunter/meds. They are my salvage/mineing/trap boys. At least until we start to deversify stats at later stages.
Solo play so much harder lol. Kinda Nice to have a couple of people to play with.
Sneak kill anything in poi and have back up hatches at door to fall back to incase of a zombie group and fall back to let them club/stun baton them to death. Or ya know pull out the MG. Jail still scares me.
Re: ladder glitch. I'm experiencing this in my game right now but not for myself just for my co-player.
Here is a comment I read about a possible ladder glitch:
"I have also run into this issue but I understand what is causing it. Try jumping to the ladder and don't hold jump. They changed something with how jumping works, now you can hold space to continuously jump and I have a feeling it has something to do with the console update bleeding over into PC. When you hold jump like we all normally do, you jump again while on the ladder and drop off. This needs to be reversed by TFP. While I'm all for the console version getting an update, I don't play console and console quality of life is inconvenient on a PC."
there is no way you're playing this without FPS problems it's very unoptimized. it's unplayable, just learn what books you find. all book skills are useful when maxed out, if you're doing it or not. LEARN all the books. being single player you pretty much have to put points in every perk. especially intellect

I refuse to wear the nerd armor. It looks so insanely dumb. I refuse. It could have +300% XP and I wouldn't use it.
Nice Video. I really like the 1.0 Update but I think they didn't accomplish what they were aiming at in the point of stretching out early game. I started a playthrough with intelect and strength and on day 9 I have got myself a quality 3 stunbaton, forge, workbench and cementmixer. As well as quality 4 Iron Tools and a Nailgun for completing tier 2 quests and going to tier 3. The only thing I don't get yet, is better Firearms than a normal Pistol. And now seeing you get a hunting knife and all those things in a couple of days. Nice try to stretch out the early I guess.
But the new armor system, the way dew collectors work now, new vehicle models and so on is really, really good. Only hating the fact, that you always meet Rekt first.

looks like your harvesting quests are working right... mine were not the other day, I harvested dozens of pipes but never got credit for them... also harvested lots of polymer and was stuck on 43/50 forever, even though I probably harvested 200 more polymer after that point... clearly their gather quests are buggy...
Watching this in anticipation for 1.0 console release. Not that ill be able to afford it right away but hey a guy can dream right 😂. After sinking 600+ hours into the disaster and highway robbery 7d2d console game i quit playing years ago. Hopefully this time we actually get updates 😂
This game is around 11 years old and there's still no Food/Water indicator on the HUD without mods, even with Full Release? Really?
Quality of life features went out the fucking window with all these reworks of already existing systems and mechanics....
Drive-thru liquor stores are in Arizona, though I've never seen one where you were inside the store, more like a drive-thru at a fast food place, relevant since Navazgane is theoretically in AZ.
I've seen a few people talk about selling the sniper books lately, but I think that's still the key to being able to bulk craft 7.62, if you never plan to use machine guns or rifles I guess that makes sense but I don't see too many play throughs where at some point you don't wish for bulk crafting 7.62 and trying to find all the sniper books is usually the hold up. I haven't fisnished watching the video yet though so perhaps you reconsider...
The thunder and lightning sound effects seem..... better now! I also love all the new inventory sounds for some reason :P

Maybe I'm wrong here but i think putting more points into armor skills doesnt up the odds for the magazines, just ups the more parts you find and armors you find in loot. Upping your main stat however i think does up your chances of getting armor magz if im not mistaken.
Not only that, but prebuilt said it well, your crit resist with prim aromor is now 0. But your armor rating is now leaps and bounda above what is used to be. So I reckon the focus is now on curing debuffs rather than taking damage hence why you may have bled out 2x and stunned AND infected from one dude :)

Not crapping on you, but you get some amazing luck on loot pulls. I played 4 hours on a world and restarted once I got a feel for the game. Currently on Day 2 of my current play session and I aint seen no goodies like that. Hell I spent day two banging on the few tree stumps I could find for honey to cure an infection. You got herbal anti biotics offered really fast from Rekt. BTW can't stand that dude. Love your videos man. Keep it up.

Hmmm so ya know how games have evolved? Some come out with new systems, styles, gameplay, or art and it becomes a mainstay for the franchise, if not a whole new Genre?
Yeah how come we dont see us holding light sources, or other non-primary tools in out non-primary hand? Nothing is stopping them from letting us hold the torches, flashlights, and lanterns in our off hand while stabbing, opening, or shooting with one handed tools.
Now I know "its a game dont compare to RL" However I can almost guarantee that anyone in any situation where they need to see in the dark, have a handheld source of light, and need to operate literally anything, that said person would hold it in their off hand.
Its the little things that bother me. We are better than this as gamers.

man, that was some serious OP loot luck... I'm on day 10 (I think) and nowhere close to having quest/loot being that lucky... maybe it was just a bad seed I spawned in
I see you got your mods running, so I'll get those in the load order.
Gotta say, the game is performing better than I expected so far. I still want a much better CPU (only got a Core i5 here), but I'm guessing I'm at about 50% settings altogether. Not too bad.
Still, sure would be nice to see Afterlife in the new update in a few months.
Correct me if I'm wrong but once you fail a quest that way, can't you go right back to the trader and pick it back up again to reset the POI? It worked that way for us in multiplayer in A21 but I'm not sure if that was due to sharing or not. If it does work that way, it might be worth doing over at Jen's to speedrun progressing your crafting skills.
It's still way too easy to find food, murky water, and medical supplies. I found meat stews and sham chowder in almost every POI I run through and it's only day 4 for me. They should nerf it like in Alpha 22.
29:04 These piles of trash are in front of *every* door, at the bottom and top of *every* staircase, in front of *every* ceiling/roof hatch.... If TFP want players to forget to get rid of them if utilizing (what there is) of stealth in the game, they might be used far more sparingly. If you're expecting them in front of *every* door, at the bottom and top of *every* staircase, in front of *every* ceiling/roof hatch, where's the opportunity to wonder whether one *may* be there and, then again, may not?
It's this kind of stuff that makes 7 Days seem amateurish at times: overuse and misuse of level design techniques like these.
Great vid! Coming back to game Im noob deluxe and this helps a lot. Im hellbent on doing a brawler/machine gunner build so parkour and knife early will help me I think. Gonna try wrap my head around maxing the right book drops 😅 looking fwd learning more from this series 👍🏻
1.0 looks pretty nice so far. does anybody know if they fixed the broken POIs? in the past i regularly wasnt able to finish quests due to broken spawning triggers or broken buttons (which then didnt spawn the zombies they were supposed to)
