Thank you John. I recently just finished my tech training for the Air Force and I got stationed in a "no drum zone" dorm room. You're honestly the only thing I watch to satisfy my itch of jamming out on the kit. I've been watching you for years now and you've helped inspire me in some many different ways. Keep up the good work John! God bless you, your band , and your family. Keep on keeping on brother!
glad to see your back john and man those murats are amazing arent they, especially since you now endorse them. keep up the energy and crank out a few of your songs on video im dying to watch.
I love your crash cymbals. I'm not much of your snare but that's just a personal preference. And your recording equipment/equalizing is flawless. Your hard work shows man in many more ways than just drumming.
Things that are sick look beautiful and sound crisp and pure. These cymbals look beautiful and sound crisp and pure. Therefore, these cymbals are sick. That is a cymbalgism.
I'm actually really good friends with Islander's bassist all of them in the band are great guys! plus they make some great rockin' songs! Great cover man glad to see their songs being covered more and more and this is the best on yet! keep it up
wow, this is a really awesome drumcover for a great song. I wish I could play my instrument like this, but I guess I'll have to learn a lot more than what I've already learned.
Really nice cover man, nice work on the cymbal sponsorship too, they sound really good! I'd love to see a cover of Schism by Tool, It'd be really nice to see a cover of that song with good camerawork and nice sounding drums and cymbals.
johnkew I just got a 17" K custom hybrid crash yesterday and "completed" my cymbal setup, but now I've seen these I might just have to check them out ahah, such is the life of a drummer eh, never complete... £££ :P
Thanks Boda - I've mostly been writing-up stuff I found last summer, but still fun! I'm also teaching two courses this semester, which is keeping me busy.
+johnkew - Cool...I was hoping you would say you were teaching - So could ask, how many of your students have recognized you as "John Kew" from your vids?
Yes, I've gradually developed a method where I set up and record everything myself. I do the mixing of audio and video. It's been a long learning curve, but it's finally sounding decent. My video mixing skills could use improvement for sure. My color blindness doesn't help, haha.
Hey John, I've got a request for you. it's a song that means a lot to me and is one of my all time favorites. I've never been able to find a good video on someone playing it and i still struggle to get my head around some of the parts. it's a long prog song but very rewarding and enjoyable to play. it's a song called tetragrammaton by mars volta. i think you're definitely capable of pulling it off and would absolutely love to see a video of you playing along to it...would you have a go? John Theodore had some really special times with mars volta and has taught me so much...if you haven't listened to him much do check him out...he's got soul :) all the best and good luck with the rest of the year :)
I have a challenge for you. Check out "Vektor - LCD Liquid Crystal Disease". I understand you probably don't care to take requests so I'm just throwing this out there in case you find it appealing, otherwise keep doing what you're doing, love your vids.
awesome. can see i will have some hours spent watching your playlist :) mebbie will see some 4Arm covers in there but if not i will ask that you give them a listen and see what you think about doing some. of course if you do not i will have to come poop on your doorstep :)
Congratulations on the endorsement, that's really great!

Dude great song choice. You deserve so many more views than you get honestly.
Glad you like this song too. I bought the album after previewing it on iTunes, and it's been a constant on my playlists since.
Danny carry signature sticks, nothing but he best
Amazing cover! LOVE your drum sound. Those cymbals are so nice. Do you do your covers in one take?
Tight and full force as always J, such as pleasure to watch! Btw, I was wondering have you dug up anything cool lately?
Boda - KFH

Another great drum cover from a great drummer. You are amazing John! By the way, are you in a band?
Do you do all the background work yourself? Like setting up equipment and editing videos. The sound of your videos are really professional.
Yes, I've gradually developed a method where I set up and record everything myself. I do the mixing of audio and video. It's been a long learning curve, but it's finally sounding decent. My video mixing skills could use improvement for sure. My color blindness doesn't help, haha.
johnkew That's fantastic! Except for the colour blindness of course lol.
Sounds decent is a huge understatement. They really sound amazing!
DYERS EVE!
Shepard of Fire looks like a fun cover if you're taking requests.
Am I right in saying you enjoyed this one? Looks like you're having fun there :)
Great cover !
Yes, this one was a lot of fun to play along with, given all of the swing and feel.
You actually aren't that bad at the drums.
I know, have you heard portraits....... rough stuff
NO farking shite
please, don't take longer than a month to upload something, I know you're a busy Guy but, dude, you rock my mind off
You should cover a few dream theater tracks.(Dance of eternity)
i think that yo will upload the video of drums only.. :(

i'd like to request any song in the style of Steve "the mad drummer" Moore.
hey john! I was wondering if I could use a drum track fron yoyr vicarious cover that I've downloaded.
Sure man, no problem.
+johnkew hey try Deftones : Digital Bath
+johnkew thanks man!
+johnkew thanks again man. I gave you a mention. you should check it out. I think it came out pretty good.
Has Johnny been working out?
Im a drummer...but far out...I wish I was like you.
perfect example of a band that should have just been instrumental.
Please do a Porcupine Tree Anesthetize cover
Sounds really good! I also do drum covers, my recent one is Check Yes Juliet, it'd be cool if you noticed, thanks!
Hey that was nice ! But tell me , is it metal , or is it rock ?
Metal is a sub-genre of rock so both would be correct. This sounds like some kind of alt-metal.
awesome. can see i will have some hours spent watching your playlist :) mebbie will see some 4Arm covers in there but if not i will ask that you give them a listen and see what you think about doing some. of course if you do not i will have to come poop on your doorstep :)
I think that Arin Illejay really fits this band a lot better than Avenged Sevenfold.
He certainly flows very well throughout this album.
Thoughts on attending and completing college? Have you completed any form of college? Is it even necessary in todays world?
How about some Opeth? Eternal Rains Will Come? I challenge you. Alot of the best guys doing drum covers can't do that song I bet.
Nice drums. Not fan of emo metal. But still great drums.
is ur album out yet ? feels like tool all over again :(
October, my friend.
fuck October.. thats wayyy to long to wait haha thanks for the reply!
What happened to your Sabian cymbals ? Don't say that are cracked , please .
