Toyota explained to me that they partnered with BMV because Supra isn’t a commodity vehicle sold “in bulk” like a RAV4 or Camry. So it was necessary to partner. Toyota did all their own engineering and tuning based on Toyota principles. That’s the condensed version

Because they didnt have inline 6 and it would take another decade to make powerful,reliable and sporty inline 6. Its would have been very expensive to made. Bmw has inline 6 and they went with it.
Z4 engine, Z4 key, Z4 trans, Z4 diff, Z4 interior, Z4 chassis, Z4 frame, Z4 suspension, and built in Austria by BMW. This is just a rebadged Z4 not a Supra

@P P its brand loyalty and brand hatred.....for me toyota took the tech and the parts and made it their own....of course its not a toyota....but for them to be able to make it their own to make it feel like a completely different car with different handeling charachteristics and performance ....and improve on it....is a feat in itself.....it could have felt like an M car but they say it feels better than any M car

Why do people keep saying cat back exhaust? Cat back exhaust is an aftermarket term for changing the exhaust from behind the catalytic converter....this is just the full stock exhaust ....sigh😒

The Lane Departure is so BMW, which is annoying as hell it's way too aggressive and can get you into an accident. For instance someone cuts you off and you want to quickly veer off to avoid collision well this BMW Lane Departure will drive you back in. Isn't that wonderful ?

Sometimes BMW engines are high maintenance cost more to fix them cost more oil changes to compared to normal car
Looking into the engine itself from the bimmer community they say they rarely have problems with it and that's its pretty soild and is pretty much being compared to the M20 and M50s.
I'm sorry to anybody who loves this car but all I see when I see the tail lights or anything about this car is a BMW, I'm not too fond of it either.

@@vinrave first thing is Supra is not a competition to the Corvette.
2nd Supra is a cayman killer and in some cases it actually managed to win against jaguar f type in terms of dynamics.
3rd C8 looks good but it won't be that tuner friendly because of its layout. If i have to buy a c8 then that would be the z06 or other performance version of it.. That's now a true Corvette.
4. I like Supra's design and Dimensions. Which is lots of funs on corner and Ghat sections.
5. I already have a hassle free experience with a bimmer motor(F10 535i)
6. front engine RWD layout.
7. Supra is not plagued with electronics and gadgets like a m3.
Don't get me wrong the m3 engine is a mad one but B58 has already proven itself.
8. B58 is tuner friendly. I have seen one in Mumbai which puts out 780bhp with an upgraded turbo.
9. Just like any BMWs the power is underrated. Supra is putting out 400+ bhp at crank!!
10. Though i would love to have a stick in the supra but i absolutely love the ZF tranny. It's nearly equal to a VW DSG box and it's reliable.
