@@HughesyTech Yes they could, just like with any security camera really. You would still have their face though since it is saved in the cloud and the SD card in the gateway.
Hi, I've tried maybe 10m from the gateway and it worked fine. Not sure what the maximum distance is. However the gateway needs to be close to the router to work.
@@jeniashumsky8642 You can record manually by clicking record on your phone so 2 hours should be fine. But it will not be saved on the SD card on the gateway it will be saved on your phone.
@@jeniashumsky8642 I'm not sure there is one since that would drain the battery very quickly. If you need 24/7 recordings it needs to be a wired security camera. You can have this camera monitoring 24/7 but it will only record when it detects motion, rest of the time it is in sleep mode.
are you able to charge it? my camera is not charging at all. I've connected it to the usb for 6 hours and the led kept staying RED all the time. Now somehow it turned green but even if I plug out the cable it's still a 15% since today... I don't know man. Nevermind, just deleting the cam and re-add it to the little white box fixed it
I've tried 32gb sandisk microsd format to Fat32 without any luck, gateway just not recognize it. Is there specific steps that I need to do so that gateway start see micro sd card?
@@Securitybros Yes, I reboot it and that's not helped, but it helps when I have removed whole volume and recreate partion and only after that format it to FAT32 from disk management. Have no idea why thats was a workaround but in any case it works now.

Thanks. I haven't tried that many battery powered cameras so can't recommend any but you have the more popular ones like Arlo, Blink etc...they are more expensive though.

@@tysonray5470 Most battery powered security cameras can't record 24/7 since that would drain the battery in just a couple of hours. That's why they only record when motion is detected and often only a short video clip so the battery will last as long as possible.

As of now Jan2020, you can host more than one, I have hosted 3 from one gateway. Issue with this camera which isn't advertised is it only records for 10 seconds after the motion event

That's weird. Not sure what that could be. Did you buy the Chinese version? Or the Imilab ec2 which I think works anywhere. Maybe ask the seller if he know what the problem might be.

I have a Mijia Camera 360 1080P global version and it is working at non-china server. If i buy this Xiaobai Mijia IMIlab CMSXJ11A to use , it requires me to change to china server in Mi Home app ? Does it conflict each other ?
That's the problem with Xiaomi products. As I understand it you have to decide before hand if you are going to buy products from China or the Global versions just to make sure they will work together in the APP. The pros I see using only China is you have a lot more products to choose from.
I have the MI Camera 360 (in fact 2 in two different locations). I also have the Imilab using Chinese Mainland server. I use only the Mi Home app. I just switch server in the settings. I don't have to make another set-up or something. Just switch server/region. BUT i can not access the Imilab from outside/remotely.
@@knudlr so It can be used together by switching the region but the non-global version will not work for remote/outside internet network like 4G mobile
Maybe you have the wrong location selected? Another thing I noticed as well when I changed the language from "Default" to "English" I couldn't connect either. Are you using Global version or Chinese?

Not sure if anyone else is having this problem but when my gateway has a solid yellow light and cannot connect to the app. I have tried resetting numerous time but it always ends up at the solid yellow light and not blinking. Any ideas?

When I add a device, I select the gateway in nearby devices and in the following step, the Select router is listed Conect to another router and when I select it, it will show me the WiFi network from the gateway that is called CHUANGMI-hub-98D1 and wants to post me a password. But I do not know him, it no in the instructions was written. If I don't write this password, it won't let me into that part of the Add device.
@@radekmoulis1280 When I did this there were two wifi networks that showed up, the xiaomi-hub one (which is secure) and a xiaomi-gateway one. The gateway one is the one you want; it won't require a password.

@@michalkurty4429 you need 2 Phone. The first one is sharing its 4g connection, the second need to use this connection to connect to the gateway. Then you ll be able to see the gateway in your mi home app. Once the gateway is connected when you click on it you Will have an error message. You have to click fast enough so that when the message diseaper you can click on the button behind so it Will display the add camera screen. Then you Will have to do the same to add the camera. When the camera is added it's working but you ll always have the error message so you ll always to do the trick to see your camera.

Not really sure but I would guess "Speed" means it adjusts automatically depending on your network speed.

Yeah 10 sec is the only available (at least last time I used it). I haven't tried it with Google Home so I'm not sure if it works.

You just insert the micro USB cable into the camera. The camera has a quick release mount.

Would you please confirm that it can only record the first 10 seconds when motion is detected? If that's the case, then this is pretty much useless!

Hi, you need to select China Mainland as region in the MI APP.

You can barely hear the voice from speakers. and it can not detect humans only, it detects even vehicles. xiaomi technology is behind still.

Can U only Connect one cam per gateway ? So if i Order 2 cams i have 2 gatewayss
It seems like they change it since I did this review, apparently now you can add more cameras to one gateway.
