@@MeorHariz yes but i went to 2-4pm session. I think i saw your car going to pit around 4pm. If i am seeing the car correctly lah (i mean thet not much rx8 in that colour that day) 😂
@@hamtairo Yea, that sounds about right. My session was the 4pm to 6pm session. Didn’t see any other RX-8 on that day and I was the only rotary running during my session. 😂 What car were you driving by chance?
Love the effort and composure you put into these prep videos! The step-up from preparing a Myvi to an RX-8 for a trackday must be quite steep and you haven't even delved into super high performance products like you did with Spirit yet😵💫
The most notable difference between the Myvi and the RX-8 is that with the Myvi, I can channel my funds to the upgrades right away and get a decently performing car. With the RX-8 on the other hand, I'm spending a lot more just to restore the car to a decent condition before even being able to get upgrades. Regardless of how it is, I'm really excited to get more performance parts as time goes on. Can't wait to tune the car once everything is set and safe too!
It's a slow progress but we'll get there someday with the build! I'm currently contemplating between getting the stock 2nd oil cooler from another RX-8 in used condition or to get a fresh set of aftermarket twin oil coolers. I reckon the second will be better but wondering if the price paid for it will be justifiable or if I'm just wasting my cash on them.
@@MeorHariz Honestly from what I heard they're the same functionality. With costs to have a 2nd OEM cooler in the same condition as a new one from RE Amemiya, you might as well just have an excuse for an RE sticker.
@@MeorHariz I should note, my right side oil cooler is beat to shit from debris due to how NA road placement so it's a good idea to have a grill in place like you do. If you manage to find a used cooler that isn't beat up like mine, the price might be close to just ordering one from Mazda NA and having it shipped internationally.
@@RyuusanFT86 Sorry for the late reply, been meaning to get back to you but got caught up with work stuff. I've been thinking of getting RX8Performance Twin Oil Cooler kit. Yes, they are quite expensive but I feel like it'll give me a peace of mind and less headache when installing them because it comes with all of the necessities such as oil coolers that fit, the lines themselves, brackets to mount them and also thermostat for the 2 oil coolers. I've read on forums that some people run this kit on track and had no issues so far. Might be overkill but since I am planning to restore & rebuild my car to make it durable on track for time attack and drifting, might be a great idea. What's your opinion on the twin oil cooler kit from RX8Performance?
@@MeorHariz I honestly don't trust anything but lines and gaskets from RX8 Performance. Their radiator and oil cooler cores have leaked in the past. While not often, that's 100% more than others I've seen. However iirc they're larger so with.your mazdaspeed style bumper without the air dams for the oil coolers I think it would be fine if there's no defects later.

Hi Meor, love the video. Do you mind sharing with me where did you source your steel brake lines specifically? I'm looking forward to change my Myvi G2 brake lines. Thanks in advance. (Link would be much appreciated)
Hi there! Glad you enjoyed the video and hope you found it helpful. You may get the steel braided brake lines from the link below! 🛒 Just inform the seller of your car model, whether it’s for the front / rear / both and the best part - it’s at a fixed price no matter your car model! Despite the funny name (FECC and FECC R), these brake lines have proven themselves to be durable as I’ve beaten them senselessly on track close to 10 different sessions. ✊✨ shope.ee/4pnc3mNX6Y
It might be personal preference but here are some of my honest thoughts (for context, the previous owner of the car got these BC Racing V1 coilovers installed - not me). I run F Tuned Racing GT Series coilovers in my other car which I tracked a lot. Those coilovers are inverted monotube so they are much more stiff, very responsive, provides a lot of feedback and overall drives like you’re on rails when they’re dialled in. The BC Racing V1 however is kind of lackluster in all of those aspect. Yes, it’s comfortable for the RX-8 but it doesn’t really have that “charm” to truly shine the RX-8’s great handling. Car still handles well but not great. Even after fine tuning the dampers, it was still nowhere as good as my other car who can take turns much harder without the suspension bottoming out or bouncing wildly. Planning to go for HKS suspension next, probably.
I appreciate the feedback @@MeorHariz - I'm looking to upgrade my G35 coupe; so evaluating coilovers rn. Definitely will check out the ones you mentioned. Thanks again man! Love your content btw
@@synaptik111 No problem! And thank you too! Got a bunch of content piled up regarding my car restoration but daytime job been keeping me busy (especially cause it’s the end of the year). More to come soon. The G35 coupe looks like a fun platform. Hope your build goes smoothly! If you’re looking for something “fancy” with a lot of comfort, Blitz make a suspension kit that comes with electronic dampers adjuster. It will tune the coilovers while you drive to maintain comfort on all terrain. Might make your car a lil’ closer to its brother, the GT-R that way 😂
